The Frenchman 0 Posted August 14, 2003 Intermediate Though I seen a Ak47 airsoft gun!
kegetys 2 Posted August 14, 2003 Where's the "I dont know s**t" option :P Though I have seen the AK47 in OFP so I guess I'll vote for intermediate :P
Skul 0 Posted August 14, 2003 I'm intermediate, thanks to OFP! Indenify most guns and vehicles, that's pretty much it. I don't really know all the specs. Which is stronger? M16 or AK4? Or are they both pretty much equal, etc. [Gareth Gates must die]
drewb99 0 Posted August 14, 2003 I know what most guns look like and I can tell the defference between an M16A2 and M16A4 from looking at it, and I know some stats.
bn880 5 Posted August 14, 2003 You mean you can fire arms? ok stupid pun
Cloney 0 Posted August 14, 2003 I can identify most by looking at them. I know some stats such as calibers and weight. I could not, however tell you their shot-groupings at 400m.
GoOB 0 Posted August 14, 2003 O.K who voted for "I work for heckler and koch" I wanna know I guess I am intermediete but there are many really weird and old guns out there wich I cant identify

Milkman 1 Posted August 14, 2003 Intermediate, some of them I am an expert on, except Kalashnikovs. I could never understand all the u's,s',k's,m's, and t's. Too many varieties  AK47 AK47S AKMS AKM AKM74 AKS74U AKSU AKM74U AKS74 And the Pks, Rpks, RPDs, etc then all the ak-100's  If anyone knows what the u's, s', m's and all that such means, please share. Shashman 0 Posted August 14, 2003 Yeah I voted Intermediate as I've read up on quite a bit of military affairs, and I've handled certain weapons (MILAN was my fave ) but I wouldn't be able to tell you ranges, muzzle velocity and stopping power, etc of a randomly picked weapon
FSPilot 0 Posted August 14, 2003 intermediate. i know more than the average person but not enough to be called an expert.
Major Fubar 0 Posted August 15, 2003 Yep, intermediate here...had an interest in military and civ firearms since I was a kid...years of buying Gun magazines (Guns and Ammo, Special Weapons etc.), playing RPGs like Twilight 2000, and playing PC games like R6 series, DF series and OFP...I can identify most firearms (and ground vehicles, for that matter) at a glance...only the ultra-new stuff occasionally stumps me (FN2000 for example). ralphwiggum 6 Posted August 15, 2003 that would be a link from one of Mister Frag's post. he basically had hundreds of rifles and an indoor range! for me, I can identify some of famous handguns, and some rifles but that's it. so guess that makes me a novice. -k44- Obi Wahn 0 Posted August 15, 2003 Yes, it's a broomstick and they're all real. There's a need for a broom sometimes...
mr burns 132 Posted August 15, 2003 I´m also an intermediate like so many others here. I have my knowledge from 12 Years of computergaming and i had the opportunity to hold an H&K MP 5 (i love it ) and a Sig 229 (is it 229?) at Visitors Day in our local Police School. Unfortunately we had no camera with us  Me standing there in a really big German BulletProofVest with my MP5 besides a bulletperforated car door would have been great as avatar
-k44- Obi Wahn 0 Posted August 15, 2003 Why an MP5? Slightly larger, but in .223... ...SIG SG-552 Commando.
Necromancer- 0 Posted August 15, 2003 intermediate... though I could not see the differences between an M16A2 and a M15A4.
mr burns 132 Posted August 15, 2003 Obi Wahn @ Aug. 15 2003,12:39)]Why an MP5? Slightly larger, but in .223...http://www.rz.uni-frankfurt.de/~bolle/web/bbg048.jpg ...SIG SG-552 Commando. Cause the German Police had only these when i visited and i was quite happy with it as it was my only chance to touch firearms since then
Shashman 0 Posted August 15, 2003 Hehe...A great place to handle fire arms if you live in the UK is at county fairs ( )...You know those events where farmers show off their prize winning pigs/sheep/cows/bulls and other farming and agriculture related things.Well the Army always have a stand there, and when I went there was a table where you could pick up an AK-74 with folding stock, GPMG, MILAN, SA-80, M-16 and they had this great stand where it's all dark inside, you lie down with an SA-80 and it's got like a laser designator or something on the end of the barrel. There's a big projected screen where you got soldiers running accross and a Hind flying around (real footage) and when you fire there's recoil and that, but it doesn't fire (and this is a pretty real seeming SA-80 I mean it's heavy and everything)...Lol was great I did crap cos I was only firing single shots
