Milkman 1 Posted July 27, 2003 We should get someone talented from the forums to make an Opf version My friends and I ran around with a camcorder, our aisoft guns and camo and acted like ofp AI. We disembarked from vehicles by popping out of the top. Boarded vehicles by grabbing the handle and then magically appearing inside (Editing ). Even ran and stood like the AI. When we went into "Danger" we brought our guns to shoulder, kneeled and then went prone. We even had mimiked death animations! But I think it was stupid, and I am sure as hell not releasing it on the internet.

Milkman 1 Posted July 27, 2003 Well maybe if it was better, and we need more people in it. It only three or four people.

A lot of missions only have three or four people in them You could always edit in OFPlike faces onto yourselves so it isnt obvious who you are
FSPilot 0 Posted July 27, 2003 Did you guys snipe with machine guns and shoot through bushes? Anyway, I heard somewhere that the star wars kid was on Tech TV about this. Don't have anything solid about it. But if he was he shouldn't be suing anybody about it. He's making money too and apparently isn't too distraught about it if he went on TV. The Frenchman 0 Posted July 27, 2003 At least let us see pics, Milkman. Ontopic: I have done embarassing things in my life too. Eventualy, these things are warped out of proportion that they become hilarious FS Pilot-like memories.
Milkman 1 Posted July 27, 2003 It is on one of my friend's computer, and I think his stoner sister deleted them for more space for here weed pics. Â Â Â But this does not phase me, I will make a new one now that I am getting my digital camera back, someday...
Baron Hurlothrumbo IIX 0 Posted July 27, 2003 He's a whining baby. Â Kids are cruel, have always been cruel and will continue to be cruel. Â I've seen kids at school when I was there get humiliated far worse than that. He made an idiot out of himself and tried to blame someone else for his own faults. Â Instead of whining about it he should accept that he made a mistake and learn from it. Or better still, laugh it up and forget about it like any other person does. The other kids do need punished for releasing it on the net, but the main problem, people taking the piss out of him for being a buffoon, is his own fault. Â I'm sick of this attitude of 'wahh I did something stupid, sue someone else' You spilled coffee on yourself and got burnt while driving? If I was the judge I would have said 'Approach the bench.' *SLAP* 'I order you to pay 2000 dollars in fines for wasting my time with your damn stupidity.' USSoldier11B 0 Posted July 27, 2003 Lucasarts oughta pay him a good sum to use it as a promo for Episode III. He would have lots of dough and it would let him get the last laugh.

Major Fubar 0 Posted July 27, 2003 Quite honestly - the first thing I thought when I saw this for the first time was "Man, this kids got some decent Jedi moves". I didn't think "What a sad geek". Maybe it was because I was like that kid at his age... But as for the kid having psychiatric problems over it and suing, all I can say is if this is the most embarrassing thing he has to live through, he should consider himself very lucky... Hmm Since when a kid making a video with himself acting like one of his kid hero is a "fault" and is "making an idiot out of himself" ? The problem of this situation from what i read lies in the fact that a so called friend of him took the tape and put it on the net and with peer to peer network, it spreads everywhere. And the real problem for him began at its school that are full of young idiot like any school in the world. As i can see psychiatry problem are serious one , specially for a kid. When i was young , if video camera that can be found now existed in those time , i am sure that my friends from this old time and myself would have found a way to make a mini movie. Where is it a fault , you never had dream when you were kid or what ?
FSPilot 0 Posted July 28, 2003 It is on one of my friend's computer, and I think his stoner sister deleted them for more space for here weed pics. Â Â Â She's so high she tries to smoke pictures? Anyway, the kid's at fault because he taped it. The 4 kids are at fault because they made fun of him... a lot. ... a whole lot I've heard of being a school joke, maybe even a town joke, but this is worldwide. I can understand how this kid can get messed up in the head because of this.
Tex -USMC- 0 Posted July 28, 2003 I hate to be the insensitive jerk, but I thought it was funny as hell, and I don't feel all that much sympathy for the kid. Sure, I feel his pain- I think we've all been badly embarassed at one point or another. However, and I don't know about you, but it never caused me any psychological problems, personal trauma, and I definitely didn't sue over it. He got careless, he left it the tape in the camera, and he paid the price for it. It's too bad(for him) that it was so funny and so easily put on the internest. If anything, he should be glad he got his 15 minutes in the sun, and maybe he can get a publishing deal on a lightsaber fighting guide. And if it doesn't teach him anything else, it'll teach him to be more careful about leaving VHS tapes where they don't belong.
Harnu 0 Posted July 28, 2003 Why did he video tape himself in the first place? You're 15, if you didn't own a camcorder and suddenly had the use of one wouldn't you film yourself or your friends doing something stupid? I know I would have No, I wouldn't I'm one of the few whos got enough sense to not do anything that's going to incrimate yourself. Wether it be illegal or just plain stupid. But I would videotape myself when I'm messing with my homemade explosives. To review the effects of everything.
NurEinMensch 0 Posted July 28, 2003 I now saw the video. I don't think it's worth the whole trouble. Let's move on.
Major Fubar 0 Posted July 28, 2003 The problem with this "sue for everything attitude" is that people think that their settlement monies come from some magical bottomless pit (unless they sue inidividuals - different matter). They don't - they come out of the taxpayers pocket, one way or another. I bet these same people who like to sue at the drop of a hat are also the first to complain when there are tax hikes, cuts to school, hospital and law enforcement funding etc. We in Australia seem to be following this trend also. It has gotten to the stage here now that some public events have had to be cancelled because they couldn't afford to pay the public liability insurance premiums. I am just glad that there are still some decent people around - I heard an interview on the radio with a man who had been left a paraplegic due to a motorcycle accident in a National Park. Now, under our law, he could have sued the National Park, and even sued his girlfriend (who resuscitated him after the accident, otherwise he would have died). But this man had enough honour and common decency to say "no, this accident was my fault for driving badly, so I'm not going to sue anyone". Nice to know there is a few good apples left. Pukko 0 Posted July 28, 2003 Since he is in need of psychiatric care his vision of him self as somewhat normal obviously got a bad turn. Probably being bullied and alienated by a majority of the hundreds of kids and other people he meets on daily basis, its not strange indeed. But I'm sure that some 'psyco-therapy' will normalize him again though. Coz thats what psychology does; finds out what is 'normal human behaviour' and develop tools to put deviant people back in line. Reinforcing stereotypes instead of, like its 'arch-enemy' sociology in big parts do, trying to deconstruct and develop our human universe beyond what is currently veiwed as normal. In my view there is almost no such thing as 'human nature' at all - that is only a representation on each time-period's beliefsystems (knowlegde, truth). In our time, and especially in the US, strongly influenced by psychology. Tough luck for this guy being viewed as a fat, nerdy and clumsy monster - or what ever categorizations he may be the offer for. I remember back in around 1980, me and my brothers made a super-8 film of ourselves doing 'stunts' biking in the forest, and various silly things. lol, remember this sequence when one of my broters looked like a bird popping up and down in the nest, doing this silly face... glad there was no Internet back then.... Â btw, its interesting seing posts in this matter of right and wrong in good old American Ricki Lake style...

Tovarish 0 Posted July 28, 2003 I feel bad for the kid, but in the end it was his own fault. Kids will be kids, and if he didn't want others to see it he should have taken more care...of course having it transmitted worldwide to tens of millions is a harsh lesson... I did dumb stuff like this when I was younger, and even recently (usually when alcohol is involved), and yep there have been cameras around, but from my knowledge I'm not some world-famous laughing stock because of them . Â Heck there's a geoshitties website I made 5 years ago that has some pics of me and some friends monkeying around at school with a digital camera....found it some months back through an old buddy who kept the link and laughed so hard it hurt...I Â put that stuff on the net myself when I was around this kid's age and now that I think back on it, I'm kind of glad not many people but my group of HS friends have seen it. Then there were some drinking pics I wished my roomate hadn't sent to half the people on his MSN Â

True, this is different in that it's out there completely without his consent and for the purpose of his humiliation. These 4 little bastards deserve to be punished, but I don't think the courts should be involved...Maybe i'm just sick of seeing frivolous lawsuits being thrown left right and center.
