well it was a retired patrol boat it was mounted on so it was there during its active life. He didnt make it so it could shoot just so that the barrel could move. I think the police are over reacting taking it off.

Could any US citizen confirm if it is stil possible, but when I visited the United States on the late 80's, in state of Florida, for people travelling deep in the mexican gulf with their boats they could obtain from the coast guards a clearance to own and keep on board heavy weapons as .308 machineguns for self defense against piratry and drug transporters stoling boats, according respect of international rules for the transport of it in international waters.

Do u think that some boats should have weapons built onto them.

What sensors are they allowed on them i know that on most boats that are on the water for ages have sonar do they have anything else?

Is there an equivelent of a driving test for them or is it up to u to find all about sailing?

U.S. citizens may purchase with a federal license, heavy machine guns up to I believe .50 caliber. 40mm antiaircraft autocannons are a bit overkill for deterring your average Carribean pirate these days, but an M2 ought to get them thinking twice!
