yeah...I figure is someone is using them that doesnt want tracers...the option is built into the game to turn them off. What Id really like to be able to do is amke them fire only on every 4th shot or so, but I dont think that possible.

I dont know if its possible to define individual armor portions from a script.

I thought there was a tracer frequency value for guns, in which case we need to know how many tracers the USMC loads for however many regular rounds. Uh, maybe I'm thinking of GR, but I'll have a look at the commented config tonight.

Also, the current tracers are a little too opaque, they kinda look like laser beams. I'll try a bit more of a fiery red and more transparency.

I'll also add a muzzle flash to the iron sight view and hopefully we will have a minor update available pretty soon.

I didnt look so if this has been answered...forgive me.

Did you plan to make any more? I know you have the marpat coming as a pack but I think having some more variations of these guys would be great! smile.gif

The US military puts a tracer every fith round and in belted ammo they put five in a row at the end.

I think that the tracer rounds look great..... It's the best yet as you can see the rounds in flight. And a night fight with them looks great! Great pack and all the bugs i've been able to find have been noticed! MAPRAT pack soon... biggrin.gif I hope confused.gif

I think I've made an improvement on them anyway. I went a bit more orange and more transparent. It looks more realistic in the day, and awesome at night!! I hear Suchey's got the chin straps done and some other improvements on the way.

Well, here's one. It's the How to make tougher units by snYpir.

However,  i don't know if it is possible to increase an armour value just in the particular area, not of the whole unit.

Yup, then after a couple days put 50 more rounds in the belt after the five tracers, and give them a really nasty surprise... crazy.gif

By the time you need to reload they know where you are.

Most of the marines you are seeing on TV in Iraq are wearing their NBC that is why no flag. I have family over there and they said that they are wearing their NBC jacket and pants most of the time.

correct. If I'm not mistaking it's the MOPP gear. The US soldiers had to wear them until recently. (and some might still wear them). In bagdad you won't see a lot of units wearing MOPP gear since commanders believe the threat of a WMD attack is low.

Next something I posted in the discussion forum on this topic;

he suchey,

PLEASE add these current marines to your pack, or at least fix some bugs on them and release an update. I LOVE those current marines. You might want to consider using diffirent woodland textures. Yours seem to be a little low-quality (at close ranges). Or are you trying to simulate dust on them??

and please add a medic to your update.

I love the model. You really did a great job on these marines.

Latest release is ready...get it at:

http://www.mtco.com/games/downloads/USMCbeta3.zip

changes and fixes

4.9.2003

-tracer rounds color subdued and transparancy increased

-muzzle flash added to iron sites view

- new gunshot sounds

- proper M16 + magazine inventory icons

-chin strap added

-helmet retextured

-night vision goggles bug corrected

-glasses transparency corrected

-missing front faces fixed in 'pilot view'

As usual...let us know of any issues you may have at the forums at digitalgrenade.com

This is NOT the final beta...we have more stuff we will want to check out using this as our beta.  The weapons names, mag names, and soldier names will NOT change so mission designers will be able to update easily with each release.

I definately think BAS's increased armor is a good idea.

For Multiplayer I just pitted Delta's versus rangers, it was quite easy and i have russian flags on the Delta's arms and almost everyone down to n00bs knows who to shoot.

Another reason is extra armor most of the time gets rid of "double kills" in Multiplayer.

Another option if you want to increase the armor is to release a nondescript unit that has different camo and has texture areas where they can have flags attached etc, this would enable mission designer's to create conflicts and use a default enemy with the new armor.

On the whole its a lot better than not having it at all, I'd rather have extra armor than not.
