Taking off helmets, just like in Mathjis' Duch Marines, despite technically being just an eye candy, would be pretty neat feature, especially with pilot units.

That's what pre-combat checks are for. Most units have standard pre-combat checks where the squad leader checks each soldier for mission critical equipment including things like fresh batteries and extra batteries. There are lots of critical items that use batteries such as NVG's, and radios. So doing battery checks is nothing new to a soldier.

I do have a deep respect for the 160th SOAR guys and CSAR units, they all seemed like good solid personages when i met some of them.

BAS already showed pics of the new NSWC/Crane buttstock for SEALS M4s, it has spare battery compartments in the cheekrest. wink.gif

AFAIK its the Eotech 552 that uses those batteries, hence the extra length in the battery compartment, however soldiers are used to using sights with batteries, and if it fails then they just take it off and use the iron sights...or as Earl mentioned they are creating special stocks with extra battery storage...

i dont think we will add removeable helmets only some things on the helmet are animated

Well it has nothing to do with animation, rather switching entire unit model via internal script.

However, an ideal solution would be also addin a custom animation showing unit taking off its helmet.

Anyway, in every single movie i saw  wink.gif , downed pilots take off their helmets, those are not PASGT nor TC2000 after all.

Just so people are not disappointed, the facemask on the SOAR pilots is not visible by default, the mission maker needs to setobjecttexture it (pretty simple copy and paste procedure). The purpose of the mask is for open door flying to cut down on disturbance from the wind both to vision and to microphones.

re: helmetless pilots...if you're on the ground then you didn't do your job as a pilot properly wink.gif Would be nice for cutscenes etc, but size considerations need to be taken into account.

yes, its a good idea to have the facemask off by default.

a little suggestion for the ranger/delta update:

how about adding a small space for a squadlogo on the "soldier" model -if its possible?

that´d be just a small eyecandy thing, but hey a cool feature... wink.gif

i was wondering if the EO TECH would be infact included for Delta in this new pack your releasing, and new sounds for ALL the weapons would be very much appreciated. Machine Guns especially... i love the new pilots..

and the new littlebirds should definetly have the same minigun sound the chinook has.. kick ass!!

the bas version of the eotech (If there is one) should definetly look like this one..

Firstly the pilots will only update the pilots, not the delta's and rangers, so the Eotech wont even have a chance to make it onto those until we next update them, yes the littlebirds are getting new minigun sounds, and the Eotech picture you posted is just an Eotech 551, just the same as in the other picture...
