Tales_From_Topographic_Oceans 0 Posted March 6, 2003 Anybody here actually finish the Resistance Campaign? I have had it installed for months but only played the first 2 or 3 Campaign missions before my attention was diverted to the Great Wide World of Addons and MODs. Like many of you, I am obsessed with Addons and MODs that there is no time to play the Campaign.
GAMEER_77 0 Posted March 6, 2003 Don't know what your missing young man. Join the Resistance. Play the campaign. Gameer
Winters 1 Posted March 6, 2003 Resistance campaign is even better then Cold War Crisis or Red Hammer. Resistance to Resistance is futile.
Guest Posted March 6, 2003 Playing the campaign was the first thing I did after buying Resistance when it was released
LowLevelFunctionary 0 Posted March 6, 2003 If you havent played through the whole campaign, as gamer says you are missing one hell of alot. Charachter development was amazing :o you really felt like you were victor. And hell even the invading forces seem real... Play the whole thing. If my mum even knew how to use a computer, let alone play resistance she would be crying at the end of the campaign Its really that good
Jamesia 0 Posted March 6, 2003 The end of the campaign is sad
interstat 0 Posted March 6, 2003 Resistance was poor in my opinion. Where are the heli missions? O.K maybe the resitance may not of had any helicopters, but maybe they could of been stolen? Plus, I find it very unbelievable that the Ruskies would be beat so easily by the resitance. Especially seeing as USSR had a massive air superity. Another thing that was lacking in resitance was the use of all the island, plus you missed out on most of the scenery as you were either stuck in tanks or trucks for a long time. I mean the island in the middle of the river was a perfect layout for some interesting missions. Red Hammer and Cold War Crisis dumped all over Resitance. Lastly, why couldn't Victor have a decent sounding voice, one that may sound remotely un-shakesperian english.

But how smart was that. 3 days after Resistance was released. I still have only played till like that mission where you're gonna free some guys and then attack a Russian base. If only that ... hadn't revelead the ending, I'd probably had finished it pretty soon after buying Res.
Milkman 1 Posted March 6, 2003 I never fininshed the missions for the campaign. I was stuck on the mission Hostages for awhile, finally freed the hosties, went to attack the base, but my stupid AI buddies with the AKs wouldnt engage unless I was about 100m away from those soviets who were near the flag pole. And by the time I got that close, the russians saw me and the BMP blew me up... Things like that kinda discourage me from trying to beat the campaign. N.o.R.S.u 0 Posted March 6, 2003 The campaign was superb, only thing I didn't like was that there where too many tank missions and large scale assaults compared to few guerilla style missions. </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">but my stupid AI buddies with the AKs wouldnt engage unless I was about 100m away from those soviets who were near the flag pole. In that mission my men were all "Experts" so I didn't have any problems at all. Best tactic in that mission is to take Bizon (you should have it because it will appear to your inventory after few missions) and attack the village alone from west (where the BMP comes) and take out those Soviets quickly. Then grab your RPG and take out that BMP when it comes.

But really, why would you have attack helicopet missions in resistance? Remember, they are a lot of civilians that took up arms.
Black Knight 0 Posted March 7, 2003 This is by far the best campaign I have ever played in any game.... maybe it's the fact that when I played it, I never had internet so I sort of gotten into it... It was weird because it felt like I was really there, living it lol. Guess it’s the way you play the game too. When I played it, I tried to think of it as real life and it really helped. Although I find it really hard to enjoy a single player campaign in any game when you have internet. Good thing mine was canceled for a month, it was really worth it
Tales_From_Topographic_Oceans 0 Posted March 7, 2003 <evil grin> Maybe I'll play it. In the meantime, I am having a bloody hell time with the Napoleon addons. Bloody hell I tell you.

Things like that kinda discourage me from trying to beat the campaign.<span id='postcolor'> -- SPOILER - HOSTAGES MISSION -- Don't read unless you already played this mission and know what it is all about, ok? Â -- OK.. This is the best way IMO, now that the BMP always rolls in (didn't do that before, must be a patch, besides, if you wait too long, a whole squad comes in and park their butts in the base as well.. so be quick!. First I checked my group's gear and replaced all weapons with Bizon's, and a RPG for myself. Do not give it to your buds, or else there's a pretty good chance they will fire at close range and kill us all.. Get up and run down on the West side and up again pretty close to the first 2 guards. Be careful not to be spotted by the UAZ. My AI buds were too slow, so I shot the guards myself. Then run to the church's North side, facing the hostage location. 2 more guards, and they will spot you as you get to the church, so aim and shoot quickly. If you play like me, you play with crosshair off, so after those 4 guards, there are 1 left, and he will kill the hostages if you are not quick. Run in or run to the corner and walk in aiming, sometimes they haven't noticed what just happened (because you are using the Bizon). Then a BMP will sound it's arrival on a distance. Watch the hostages flee, feel free to send your team up the hill too, wait at the corner by the road with a good view in the direction of the sound. When the BMP shows up, blow it up and run like a mad dog after the rest. If you do it like this, nobody will every catch you. Make sure you have at least 2 RPG rounds yourself, and give your team some too before the mission starts. You will be needing it. THE NEXT PART OF THE MISSION: There are 2x2 guards on patrol up North, in addition to 2 squads. We took out the first 2 guards, of course the squad in the camp came running to see what was happening, and we disappeared to the NE. I parked my team just below the ruins above the camp and sneaked into the camp alone after giving my Bizon to one of my team. I picked up a Dragunov from one of the crates and sneaked back with my freshly achieved Dragunov and 7 clips of ammo, leaving the RGP ammo with other team members. Now the fun started.. I killed an officer or MG standing in the camp, and the rest came running my way. My team was ready to give them a warm and fuzzy welcome, they were mowed down as soon as they were close enough. When my team didn't have an aim on them, I picked them down from a safe distance behind my team, with my Dragunov. I then shot the other 2 guards, then the other squad ran there and I shot them all at 900-1000m. Not really necessary, but I need some training.. Camp empty, all enemies dead. No, wait, there comes 2 more tanks! One T-72 and the other one a BMP. No problem, grabbed 2 RPG rounds and got 2 team buds with RPG's with me, snuck in close on the tanks from the ruins in the base, then killed them off in seconds. Mission completed. So now you know, there's a Dragunov in the crates in the camp It will help you a lot if you get to grab it!

IceFire 0 Posted March 8, 2003 I havn't begun the Resistence Campaign yet. This is because I like to do everything in order. And because I play the game at a lazy slow pace. See, I already beat the CWC campaign when I had just CWC. But then I uninstalled that and installed GOTY. Now I am playing through the CWC campaign again, then I will start on RedHammer, then when all that is finished, I will start on Resistence. So far it has been 2 months, and I am at the mission where I am helping the Resistence fighters rescue the civilians from the town. I've been on this mission for about a week. FallenPaladin 0 Posted March 9, 2003 I came, I saw Resistance, I played and finished it Right now I`m replaying all the campaigns with my new PC if I have the time to do so. Amazing graphics, but one time it lead to my death, when I was watching the landscape from a mountain near Trosky (that place with the castle ruins near by). Some evil russians appeared behind me and shot me poor tourist

Jinef 2 Posted March 9, 2003 Strange how graphics decrease as time goes on in the campaign eh? Everything was sharp and clear in the beginning, resistance was like the morning of OFP. It startes to get fuzzy and hazy as CWC 1985 began, like the characters were smoking dope or something. And red hammer! well the guy needed a trip to the opticians as this was horrific! Maybe he flew some choppers and not just cessnas. If he had flown civilian choppers and studied information about hinds it doesnt seem very unrealistic to me that he could actually fly it. cybrid 0 Posted March 9, 2003 Damn i'm having a hell of a time with resistance. I can't get past the 5th mission or whatever it is where you have to steal the tanks. I have no AT weapons and I'm grossly out numbered. The difficultly is comparable to the last few missions in the origional cold war campaign. I got resistance for my birthday in December, and havn't played it much since. I got frusterated and quit only to play some other games. I spent alot of time with mafia.
