FAST2 - Arma Server and Steam Workshop Tool

Recommended Posts

qk7hJEl.png

INTRO

FAST2 is an extensive rewrite of FAST, which was a project I started to help automate and speed up the deployment of Arma 3 servers on Windows. The UI needed updating and the code was messy and inefficient. This new and hopefully improved version has more features and better stability than FAST. Thanks go out to all the guys who helped test this version before release with special mentions to Kju and JamieKG for their continuous bug reports and testing. Also, to BI for giving us an awesome game to play with and break.

No problem, I've fixed it an pushed the update out. Just relaunch FAST and update all mods and it should now work fine. The symlinks were not being created correctly.

I'm getting the same issue with the latest build. It appears FAST isn't creating short cuts in the ArmA 3 server directory unlike the old FAST.

It also isn't automatically transferring the bikeys from the mods key folder into the server keys folder.

Sent you a PM regarding the issue with Symlinks. I can't replicate it being broken - working OK in 2.0.1.2 on two 3 different servers.

As for Keys - this didn't make it into the first release will be back in the tool later.

Hello Flax!

I had a small "problem":

the server name configured in the Settings tab on Server Name did not appear. Instead, the full name of the PC appeared (which is configured in Windows Server).

Name configured on server: Zona de Combate - Treinamento

Any setup made wrong by me?

Congratulations on the program! Is perfect

I've not seen that before. I can't replicate the issues either - can jump on the discord so I can see if I can sort it out for you?

Hi Flax, my english is very, very poor.

Thanks for the invitation to the discord but I think that here in the forum I will be able to explicate better (using google translator) kkkkkkkkkk

qK13e1P.jpg

This is the server,  and  FAST 2 open.

Server name: Zona de Combate - Treinamento

And in the ArmA laucher the server appears like this:

Note: The other 2 instances of ArmA servers that appear in the photo are on the same server. Lauched using TADST

Thanks for help and sorry for bad english

Hello, Flax!

I would like to give some suggestions for FAST2:

1-) In the MOD tab, there must be a mod counter marked in each session.

2-) There is a possibility to create a master profile for default settings (server password, difficulty settings, extra parameters) and when a new profile is being created, it is asked if the administrator is interested in loading the default profile.

Thanks again!

A Master Profile would be great, One of the thing I like about TADST was that when clicking "NEW" to create a new profile and server config it would clone the existing selected profile so I could just make the adjustments for that profile quickly and easily.

Flax, I did a test with the HC's and there was a "problem":

I put the server set on port 2492 and set up 2 HC's on it.

When the HC's started, they were both connecting to port 2302 (ArmA standard).

Hey Flax

Any interest in porting this over to DayZ Standalone since it is just about to come out of early access? Could we possibly see a F.D.S.T??

Hey - yes this is definitely planned might have to work on the name... FDST just doesn't roll off the tongue so well. Once i get 2.1 stable and released for FAST i'll look at DayZ

Hi Flax,

Great work, this is a great tool. Would it be possible to add a dialog for allowed voted commands, and allowed voted admin commands? Or a dialog to add extra lines to the server.cfg that aren't covered by the other options as a stop gap?

Referencing https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma_3:_Mission_voting

edit: and if possible, a return of the make a batch file feature? I like having shortcuts to different configs.

Thanks.

Thanks, glad you like it! Yes all that is planned - I will see if I can get the server, cfg override in in the meantime.

Hello again Flax!

A simple idea (I think): put in the MOD's tab, the number of MOD's marked in the session (server only, Player Required Mod's, HC reuired Mod's).

Thanks for the beautiful Project.

Nice software, though I was tinkering to see if I could get it to run 2 instances on the same server and it "stopped working". Now it doesn't work anymore, even from a new download and install. Any idea why?
