Brave Sir Charge 122 Posted April 10, 2019 Hi all, we are pleased to bring you some more information on our upcoming release in this very important date. After the German Heer and Luftwaffe invaded Norway, on April 9 1940, many of the men and women of Norway began sabotaging Nazi assets. Savage reprisals were made against the civilian populace so it became ever more important for resistance fighters to be able to blend in with ordinary folk. One moment an ordinary civilian, going about their business in the many villages of norway and the next, a well armed soldier in the army of freedom! Northern Fronts will bring 1940s civilian clothing and ressistance variants in upcoming update. Variety of historically accurate clothing and headgear will be enriched by equipable armbands worn by resistance fighters. We cannot possibly express how excited we are to bring these awe-inspiring people to you in Arma. 10

Gimp yyuo 1 Posted June 2, 2019 Hello, I noticed that there has been a lack of updates, the latest update notes on steam workshop was from 20th of January, so when can we expect the Norwegian resistance & army to come into play? Also, will Norwegian Police troops be added? And what about Swedish border guards, Swedish Armed Forces in the Area of Vinjesvingen? There were numerous swedes in the norwegian and danish resistance. (PS, I would be very happy to assist you in researching historical material as I speak both Swedish and Norwegian (because they are similar languages))

(PS, I would be very happy to assist you in researching historical material as I speak both Swedish and Norwegian (because they are similar languages)) We're currently working on the Norwegian update, which will still take some time to release. We usually don't have set dates as we do this in our spare time. At the moment our priority is in adding the most common Norwegian assets. Resistance assets will be dynamic with weaponry so you can represent any resistance with ease. Armbands and clothing are separate. We usually implement factions which are easy to do with the current assets we have. So you can expect Swedish assets come to play after the Winter War update when we add the Swedish & other Nordic volunteers (Svenska Frivilligkåren) in Finland, 1940. Those assets can be used to replicate Swedish Armed Forces. Danes can be expected as well as they share most of the weaponry with Norwegians. All Nordics be done eventually, but it's just matter of time.

Since the Norwegian Resistance actually had cooperation with Sweden where Sweden started something known as the "Polistrupperna" (Police-troops) which was a sort of Paramilitary organization for resistance members to train in peace, it would be intresting to have a huge training map in Sweden where they could actually train, and also maybe enterable houses? EO 11277 Posted September 22, 2019 @Temppa, I really love what you've done with Svartmarka, a totally fresh take on a map we all know and love so well. I'm not sure if you want bug reports but while i'm here... Spoiler [7969,11302.5,0]
tpw 2315 Posted September 22, 2019 @Temppa, your work to take a beloved but dated map and use Livonia assets to turn it into an overgrown a post-war wilderness is absolutely inspired. It looks absolutely spot on and the performance is phenomenal. Apart from a few missing pond objects and some misplaced ruins as noted, it's just a fantastic terrain, and deserves to be a standalone terrain too, like some of the others in your pack. Congratulations on another outstanding terrain, and thanks!

In the picture you can also see new headgear and new helmet models. Majority of the Finnish headwear has been remade for this upcoming update. Pictured are the Finnish m/22-36 and m/36 greatcoats. You can also spy our new m/16 helmets, m/22 sidecap and remade m/36 field cap. 9

Brave Sir Charge 122 Posted November 30, 2019 80 years ago Finland's neutrality was violated by the Soviet Union. Bombs were dropped on Helsinki and other civilian targets while over half a million Red Army soldiers marched into Finnish land. Against them stood over 300 thousand Finnish defenders, underequipped and lacking anti-tank equipment to counter hundreds of Soviet tanks and armoured cars. The invasion of Finland would later be remembered by determined defense of the Mannerheim Line, well utilised Motti tactics and incompetence of Soviet leaders in the opening days of the war. A conflict later known as Winter War had begun and it would last until March 13, 1940. It had claimed over 400 thousand lives and led to another conflict between Finland and the Soviet Union in 1941 - the Continuation War. On that day we would like to share some of our WIP screenshots: 18

Brave Sir Charge 122 Posted March 16, 2020 The Treaty of Moscow ending the Winter War is signed in the Kremlin at 1 o'clock in the morning Finnish time, 13 March 1940. To remember this date we'd like to share with you our latest development status, check the pictures below but before that enjoy some history: Despite the fact that the Red Army attacked Finland without so much as a formal declaration of war, the harsh terms of the peace treaty mean Finland is forced to cede to the Soviet Union the Karelian Isthmus and areas to the north of Lake Ladoga. Without assistance Finland could no longer continue the unequal struggle, and the Government was left with no alternative but to attempt a negotiated peace. The towns of Viipuri, Sortavala and Käkisalmi are incorporated into the Soviet Union. Almost 430,000 Karelians, or 12 per cent of the country's population, lose their homes. Finland's total losses in the war are 25,904 dead or missing and 43,557 wounded. During the course of the war a total of 84,000 women took part in the work of the defence organization Lotta Svärd. Most worked in the catering corps, while some served at the front. 64 members of the Lotta Svärd gave their lives in carrying out their duties. Soviet losses total around 127,000 dead or missing and 188,000 wounded. (quotation: GRH Suomen Armeija) More on our discord. 7

Brave Sir Charge 122 Posted June 4, 2020 Today the flags are flying to honour the Finnish Defence Forces, and to celebrate the birthday of C. G. E. Mannerheim, Marshal of Finland! To celebrate this occasion we've decided to show you some teasers of what's to come soon. The first picture shows a 37 PstK/36, More commonly known as the Bofors 37mm AT Gun, Used in both the Winter War as a Anti Tank gun with great capabilities against our upcoming armor and later in the Continuation war it was given a Infantry support role. The second picture shows off some of our remade gear and some nice little immersive add-ons like the picture frames. That will be all for now and we hope to have more news for you soon. 6
Brave Sir Charge 122 Posted June 10, 2020 Hello, welcome to yet another preview of Northern Fronts! On this day in 1944, the Soviet forces broke through the Finnish defences in the Karelian isthmus. This meant the beginning of two months of heavy fighting throughout the Karelian isthmus and Eastern Karelia. One of the latest additions to the mod is the T-26E light tank. The tank is Finnish modification to the Vickers 6-ton light tank based on the experiences of the Winter War. The old 37mm Bofors was replaced by Soviet 45mm gun and the Maxim coax with a DT. The tank can be differiantated from T-26's by differences in the hull and the turret. Another tracked addition to the mod is the Soviet T-28E tank. This tank is up-armored with steel plates, providing it with stronger armor but bigger weight. All of the Finnish T-28's were updated in this manner in 1942. As foreign aid, Finland received new German anti-tank weapons which proved very valuable in the defensive battles. The next update will add the Panzerschreck to the Finnish faction with various different paintjobs from the German dunkelgelb to the Finnish 3-tone pattern. Last but not least is the Soviet 152 mm howitzer model 1938. Finland captured 45 of these pieces in the Continuation War and bought 57 more from Germany. These guns were well liked by Finnish artillery crews and will provide both Finnish and Soviet factions with some heavier firepower. The Finnish classification for this gun is 152 H 38. That's all. Until next time 4
