Music for nam missions

Recommended Posts

Now that the NAM pack is out... many mission makers are forgetting some of the great music that was popular in the Vietnam era among troops, or even that seems vietnam style today... music always adds flavor in single player cutscenes, and maybe even in public server games (most likely private though). So, go ahead and post post post!

My Contributions:

CCR - Fortunate Son

I will compile them all into a PDF or *.doc when we get a bunch smile.gif

PS - Mods, maybe a sticky?

There is also a one that goes "nowhere to run here baby, nowhere to hide...". It was in critical flak by flashpointconversion but now their zip has no music.

Don't forget Franky Boy's little baby;

These boots are made for walkin' : Nancy Sinatry

and a whole lotta more (i should better bring up my father

here, to be inspired).

Check out the soundtrack of "Forrest Gump", or

"Good morning Vietnam".

Then we got "FMJ" or "Platoon", "Apocalypse Now" and so on.

Or what about "Operation Dumbo", featuring some great

vietnam era tracks?

Ah yeah, the Doors, James "king of soul" Brown, Rolling Stones,

CRC, Aretha Franklin', Dusty Springfield, Duane Eddie, etc...

OK, stop now, or it will become endless.

Adagio For Strings - Was used for the highlight song in Platoon, several times when main character is narrating and when the guy runs out in the middle of the field all bloody and such.

Hi

Simple solution Run a copy of Winamp

Using winamp Log on to.

http://yp.shoutcast.com/

Type 60s into the search field and take a pick of online radio stations.

Several stations will come up

http://www.howlinoldies.com/

Is A good one  smile.gif  From Wolf Radio Derived From Howlin Wolf The seminal DJ of the 60s. A mix of rock and Motown.

http://www.techwebsound.com/

For Pysychadelic Rock is well worth a visit. Lots of the longer album tracks. Also worth it for samples for doing your own dance mixes  wink.gif

To the list of songs add The Velvet Underground: I am waiting for my man

Early 70s as well is in the vietnam era.

On a side note somone should integrate winamp into OFP as a Mission Juke Box wink.gif

Kind Regards Walker

I used The Animals "gotta get outa this place" in my assassination mission, for a dead cutscene instead of the seagull.

Ther are three marines grouped around a helo and radio, and they all sing together, with synced lip movements
