    Canadian prairie

    I'd just like to say that i've been able to mess around on the island and seen the progress Powerslide has made. This Island is great, it really does give the feel that your in Canada. The section that resembles the canadian north is beautiful and having been in the north numerous times i can say it's a spiting image. The town is coming along very quickly and has the feel of um... Airdrie! That small town north of Calgary, it's kind of a suburban city off on it's own. The farms look good so far, being a farmer i had to give Power some critism on it but it's looking very nice. Overall it's one great island and I can't wait to make some fun missions on it. In fact i've allready made one

    Question about .csv

    Ok I solved it, well dismas solved it and told me what I should do. Instead of trying to put the texts into the camerea script i just put the cutText["whatever"."PLAIN DOWN"] ~7 cutText["whatever"."PLAIN DOWN"] ~5 cutText["whatever"."PLAIN DOWN"] ~7 into a different .sqs and controled the speed that way. This way it dosn't pause the camera Thanks Dismas! And thanks for your Help Bn880.

    Question about .csv

    Oh I do have it as Cfgsound...I just ment it's a narative part so I had to change it to Cfgsound. The Timing issue is... The narative .ogg file is about 22 seconds long....so i can't have all the text shown at once. When I use your Cfgsounds solution it brings up text without changing the sound, which is perfect...the only this is I can't control when they come up aside from camera changes... There is one pan which is 15 seconds long on the same camera...in that period i need two screens of text to come across...The camera cannot stop panning so i can't pause the whole script with ~1 otherwise that'd be perfect.

    I don't want it in radio....It's a narative part.... The Phantom .ogg file worked...just created a blank .txt file and changed it to .ogg The only problem i'm having now is timing it right.... I'm using <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">playsound "voice3" Is there anyway to control that in seconds? Because between the camera changes there is a 15 second gap...I need it right inbetween them.

    Sorry Bn880, I should have checked my PM Again.... I tried it and it brings up a message saying... <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">sound voice3 not found Voice3 being what I called it in the .ext. I guess I could make a phantom sound file with nothing on it....but there has to be an easier way.
  8. I'm writing a Camera Script and was wondering how can I make direct references from the script to my lines in .CSV? I understand the unitname say "voice1" but i'm looking for no sound just text? I start off the sequence with a long speech from the main chatacter...but the sub title is too long to fit into one frame...I need three different text sequences to go along with one sound file.. Anyone?

    Multiplayer keeps crashing!

    Don't worry guys, I figured it out after a while...I re-installed DX 8.1 and it works now...I don't know why i had to do that. But whatever it works now and i'm happy.

Hey, yesterday i could join games on gamespy and connect to games through IP and not host, but then i downloaded Port Magic from Gamespy and everything went haywire...Now everytime I try to join a game on gamespy it kicks me out to my desktop right as is it's joining. Then when i try to create a server in OFP it kicks me out to the desktop also! I don't know what's wrong! Can someone help me out? I have Zonealarm and am behind a router but i had those on before and they never seemed to cause any interference. Lil Help anyone, I've looked all over the place and gone to Avon's FAQ and the solutions she gave didn't work and the same with the other topics about this on here.

    Ofp2 set in vietnam

    Although i do enjoy the vietnam mission users have made...and I'm sure i'll enjoy anything OFP2 has to offer...I'm just worried that having it set in vietnam really limits BIS's abbility to make "heli" missions, "tank" missions, "heli" missions etc... With a fictional setting they would have many more options on what type of missions they wanted to make. I just have the feeling it could be a lot of LZ securing, Long patrols and maybe a couple of prisonner missions. But, I trust BIS and am sure it'll be another great game.

  15. Hey guys, I just finished making a King of the Hill style mission which uses Canadian troops from operation northstar. Â It's loads of fun, and even though i've sent it in to Northstar to put on thier page i'm also going to post it on mine. It's for v1.46 only and basically the two teams fight for control of the top of a hill...If one team is in control for 30 seconds they score a point. Â The game ends when one team reaches the pre-set point limit. If you want to check it out, please go to my site Doolie's OFP Page It's called...Battle for the Hill (Real original eh?
