Does anyone know if its possible to use smoke grenades in an airsoft match/tournment? Or has anyone seen them used?

Im just curious if its actually possible to get them because it would really add a twist to a match.

There is this friend of mine that made a paintball frag grenade. It was a canister and has a time delay. Very neat it was.

Airsoft is a lot of fun.  I have an M4A1, upgraded to about 350 fps, soon to have a RIS and a HurricanE Aimpoint replica.  And a USP to go with it, as soon as I start working again...Can't wait.  Glad to see a lot of other people interested in airsoft on these boards.  I don't know if this link has been given, but THIS is an invauable source of information.  Read the forums, and you'll find the answers to almost any question you have.  

And for the fellah who said it's illegal in NJ on the first page (I read the first 4 before realizing this post was 40-something pages long), that's incorrect.  There are efforts in the NJ legislature to ban it, but the law is being rewritten with the advice of FAST, the Foundation of Airsoft Safety and Training (I think...too many acronyms to remember).  There's still a chance that they will not heed FAST's good word, but airsoft has a lot of hope in NJ.  There's already rumors of airsoft fields in the works in my area.  Exciting!

And about that L85A1, there's a custom job from DEN Trinity but I have personally received poor service from them in the past, and as such, cannot really reccomend them to you.  Hopefully TM will pick up on it eventually.

Try searching google, or looking for paintball in your phonebook, someone at a paintball place would probably know. You might even find an airsoft category in the phonebook but I doubt it.

Another note: When it takes a company 4 VERSIONS of a product to get it right, and thus using their customers as guinea pigs, it's generally not a good company.

Their products are great, as long as you swap the internals for TM and Systema ones pretty soon, otherwise it's almost guaranteed to crap out on you. But it's up to you.

I'd probably spring for the XM177E2. It's only a buck more and I'm a pilot at heart.

I am over here in Ireland, watching BBC. They just said yesterday that a kid got shot in the neck with a pellet gun. Another great step backwards for british gun rights, and another incident for the over-protective moms everywhere to use to ban all airsoft guns.

No, just over heard it on the Tv. It was some dumbass with a pelllets gun (Little bbs you know?) and he shot himself in the throat (Goodjob bobby!) He is alive, but sometimes I wish idiots like this dont survives, so they cant spread there stupid genes.

I hate it when they blame the accidents or stupidity from the user on himself as a legitimate cliam to try and ban things like when they put suicides in the statistics against gun ownership

Went Paintballing with some people from my store and another today....8am to 2:30pm....damn I'm exhausted, and I've got some very nice welts, but what a rush! . The fields were huge, and in the bush so there were plenty of trees and wooden shacks and barricades for cover. I spent most of my time crawling around prone while most people just sat behind a barricade....worked really well since they didn't expect someone to be moving without cover, and by crawling slowly and staying low I was hard to see.At least a couple of people every game didn't see me till it was too late, and when someone finally did all I had to do was keep my head down and you'd see paintballs splattering all over in front of me. Just like OFP . Only problem was when I did get hit it was usually on the top of the head, so I've got a bit of a headache now and till I took a shower my hair was bright orange . I'll post a pic of our entire group as soon as it's sent to me.

PS, all of you putting down paintball in favour of airsoft because the guns don't look real, you're missing that beautiful splatter effect when you unload on someone. It was great hitting someone in the visor to see their head snap back and at the same time an explosion of paint covering their entire mask. I actually hit one poor bastard right in the mouth at fairly close range. He fell on his ass and proceeded to try to spit out paint through his mask and swear at the same time. Ah the good times of summer .

hahaha!  sounds like a good time.  i remember playing paintball with some friends from high school once.  some unlucky guy dove behind cover (it was more concealment than it was cover).  i ended up spraying at him to see if I could get one through the cover, it was just a stack of logs, and ended up doing just that.  got him right between the eyes.  after a good 15 seconds of spraying i saw his gun come up, then him with a nice big orange splat on his visor

then there was my friend who was about to join the army.  he kept getting shot in the head  we couldn't help but make fun of him

Lol reminds me of two guys I killed in the exact same way while protecting this fort from attack:

I was sniping through a window in the wall, and there was a barricade just a few feet away. Two guys from the opposing team, a few minutes appart, tried to take that barricade, and they succeded, only they didn't notice a large wooden chunk missing from the lower half, giving me a clear shot of their legs. This is pretty much how it went with both of them.

-Guy runs into the barricade

-I fire a few shots at their legs through the oppening, he dosen't notice being hit, one of them even taunted me - "You're just wasting ammo!"

Me: "You're Dead!"

Him: "No I'm not!"

Me: "Check your legs!"

Him "How in the F%$ng Hell?!?"

Priceless, even more so when I explained exactly how to both of them .

BTW, once we were done playing that particular field, the fort looked like it had gotten a nice coat of orange paint .
