duda123 1341 Posted January 23, 2017 Update: This has been released: Working on a little mod for the Tanoa map so we can use the trains. Will be sever-side only like my other mods. Planned Features: Multiplayer support. Mod only required to be installed on server Uses vanilla train and track models. However, it will have the ability to add support for additional train cars / engines. You will be able to drive the static trains already on Tanoa (not placed via editor). However, driving one will make a copy of the existing static train. Driving the train will be done in 3rd person (see videos for example of 3rd camera movement - you can also zoom in / out with mouse wheel) Can automatically detect and follow tracks placed on a map. Multiple cars. Attach by backing up into a car on the track. Detach by getting out of the train and walking over to the car to detach. Multiple cars & inclines causes slower train acceleration. You can add multiple engines to increase acceleration. You can ride in other cars (same type of 3rd person camera as driver) When approaching a track split, you can hold left/right to direct the train (works in both forward and reverse) Some sort of damage handling (e.g. hitting other trains, driving off end of track, etc) Ability to jump out of train 50 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

domokun 515 Posted January 23, 2017 Brilliant. What about damage modelling? For sound, I guess you need a diesel engine that is linked to torque as well as the CLACK .... Are you going to add any other locomotives like steam? As they could be useful in a WW2 Scenario. Also will we see working train formations? You will just be able to drop it on your server, and then anyone can drive around any trains on the track without having the addon. Driving will be done in 3rd person. Ideally will support hooking up cars together and track switching by pressing left/right when you approach an intersection. Travel too fast and the cars go flying off the track... heh I also didn't mention that the train will automatically be able follow any tracks you place on the map.
