For me the SW adds more stress than anything really.

As long as "mod-jackers" aren't banned from Steam (or at least, banned from uploading items - how hard can it be?), this simply won't stop.

 

Exactly this, people that get more than 2-3 strikes should be banned from uploading anything to the workshop permanently.

I'm a bit pessimist too, I'll admit...

When you think on it, people can be banned for cheating in games; but there's no form of punishment for violating intellectual properties. Something's seriously wrong in the game industry.

I'll try to test under more load later, but running a Zeus template of the map on my server I was getting much better frame rates and performance. 

After spawning in and letting things load for just a minute or so, I placed down a couple squads and a BTR to fight with a LittleBird.

I was getting in the 40+ FPS range now with little to no stuttering, with 3K view distance.

Seems to be a great update so far!

Unsure if this is related to the map or just Arma.

Flying a Littlebird, in game about an hour and I got the following error resulting in a cmoplete lockup of Arma (showing in background processes).

nope..same thing as the famous "3fps bug"..it is related to not enough memory...arma locks up at max 3.2GB of ram.

same happens to me on tanoa with big mods loaded...for me it helped to increase the pagefile in windows and make sure there is enough space on the desired harddrive left.

If you have a 64bit OS you can try the dev branch, 64bit version of the engine is already available for testing. It may still have some kinks to iron out, but it seems to work. I didn't encounter the 3fps bug (yet) so I don't follow the topic closely, but lots of work has been going into that on the dev branch. Taunus seems to work fine, at any rate. I recently manged to fly Sabre's Boeing 737 from RMA to the military airbase in the north, this was with CUP loaded in addition to the aircraft pack. No lag, though I was flying high and with a viewdistance of 3km or so.

i have a new problem with the map. all vehicles on the map spawn in the ground by exile mod. the same is by the dms mission system the buildings, cars and static weapons spawn in the ground

Not a map issue...please head over to exile mod forums and try to find a solution there

Here is a simple mod that makes Taunus use new ArmA3 lighting for those who want it - but with some differences versus vanilla BIS configuration:

 

- slightly more pronounced red colors during daytime

- deeper shadows

- brighter nights with a more natural blue tint
