KetsuCorp: General Equipment Addon Release (GEAR)

Are there plans to make GEAR compatible with mods like ACE3 or RHS, if there is any need of?

Does this mod actually give players the ability to choose each piece of gear separately? For instance, can players now pick any gloves they want to wear with any camo? Or is this only a case of wishful thinking?

There should be no necessity for this, ACE3/RHS is completely compatible with this.

Directly speaking and programmatically yes absolutely. You will be able to choose glove/belt

color, sleeves up or down, fatigues with sweaters on or off. We have listed every possibility

of permutation with the customization shown. To that extent then yes, we have done this.

There is no menu to handle the gloves/belts separately which would greatly help reduce the

clutter but that said 95% of persons involved in A3 either use crates or the virtual arsenals.

To a further note, we are listed as one of the highest quality texture designers for uniforms

on the ArmA III platform. This goes hand in hand with our statement of quality:quantity, no

substitutes. If you wish to engage on using these high quality additions be prepared to sort

through a plethora of content, we aim to provide team leaders with the ability to build setup

kits for his or her unit as required. Consider this a toolkit and a playable library of fresh data.

Hope that helps,

Many Thanks,

KetsuCorp

Agreed.

Best answer ever :).

I think if we had one improvement upon finalizing bug fixes post hiatus, we would

take the time to research a custom menu that comes up when using baseclasses

and then derive gloves/belts from permutations. That would probably be the right

thing to attempt to do. This will however not be promised as we're swamped now.

@Community:

En Mass data testing would be great, we want to break this mod so we can finish

with the list of fixes. Some are reporting model.cfg deviations/anomalies, if we are

able to get a pinned, determinate range of bugs incl. scuba, etc. We can fix it up.

Many Thanks,

KetsuCorp

Hi, when i checked the first post today i noticed that the, i think it was called "requested addons" disappeared. which IIRC contained camo patterns from various countries, for example Germany.

Does this mean that the team does no longer plan to create these camos or was it just removed because of the current hiatus status?

You have an excellent eye! The long and short of it will be that

when we're done with the next patch coming up, we will aim in

on making what will eventually be known as GEARS_USA (using

our previous patch name but expanding it) so as to include the

entire GEARS project R1 into that project as it is U.S. Oriented.

The next phase will be to complete a GEARS_EU, which means

a rename of GEARS_USA to GEARS_NA as we will include much

requested Canadian forces and likely Mexican for the sake of it.

The idea behind GEARS_EU will be a fully fledged expansion for

it, which aims to include a single country at a time per addon.

We will start our landfall with GEARS_EU with the british camo

packs and then move on country by country. If we are unable

to complete a camo due to lack of reference or detail, we will

notify you. However this is very long term and requires a large

amount of support and donations if we are to push researcher

work into countries we have very little idea of, vis a vis Latvia

or Romania. These are countries we would love to get camo in.

Finally,

We intend to start requesting not that we build the unit codes

but have qualified, high fidelity unit builders use our resources

to make good on a promise the community was missed on with

the original A3 release of just NATO forces. We believe if NATO

were on site at any location you would see a patch on the arm

stating thus and a coalition of uniforms and supported military's.

I hope that clears things up,

Many Thanks,

KetsuCorp

Hello! I was wondering if you guys would ever consider making M81 and DCU uniforms, the classics. I was originally expecting them to reside in your USA pack, but it turned out to be just solid colors. We're really lacking on good old style camos in Arma 3, so it would be amazing if you would at least consider. Thanks!

Just wondering if anyone could post up some images of the NVG's in action. I'm looking to replace the vanilla ones, especially if the green effect is better.

Respect due on the quality of what i've seen so far, and the manner with which you update this thread. Proper professional conduct.

kind regards

Gav

I can post some pics when I get home, but I guess NVGs are something you'll have to try for yourself to really decide whether you like it or not.

The only thing that is missing for this mod, is the M81 woodland camo and a replacement pack.

I disagree lol

@Community,

We are returning to work on the project, we have some new features in

store, we would like to announce the following upcoming features as the

final patch to the USA Spectrum of GEAR, this means that GEARS_USA's

final data will include the necessary family of camouflages and a full pack.

Fixes & Updates:

-Fixed SCUBA bug.

-Fixed ACH Normals.

-Fixed ECH Normals.

-Fixed Crye Normals.

-Fixed Commando Normals.

-Fixed Headwear model.cfg (headwear at crotch)

-Fixed Various Misc. Errors (code cleanup)

-Added New Velcro for Realism Purposes

-Added Crye Gen. 3 Padding & Normals

-Added Crye Gen. 3 Padless versions

-Added BDU, DCU & UCU Patterns

-Added IBH Helmet Programme (Essential for upcoming GEAR SEAL pack)

-Added Support for VQI, ACRE & TFAR Projects under Optional folder (Requires you have those mods)

What we hope to see is a number of unit developers come out from the

shadows and create specific units that use these uniforms and items, a

great deal of effort has gone into the collective customization level with

GEAR and no other modification will provide this level of (sometimes very

superfluous) customization. We hope that when the GEARS U.S. Archive

is finished you will enjoy knowing we have given every possible detail to

both the camouflage, the items and their prescribed intended functionality.

In closing, we thank you for being so patient with us, this patch will take

a good deal of time as we are now redoing and HD'ing the work already in

GEAR. You may think that not necessary to HD an already high-def mod in

light of your using it, but we feel we can make one final, excellent push on

the basis of our templates. We may release our source after the U.S. finish.

Many Thanks,

KetsuCorp

Many thanks to you, but be careful with that part. Higher definition textures will stress video memory even harder, for a game that never has enough of it. I think the textures are more than good as they are now, and many players can't even put their texture quality video setting in high, while other just keep trying to. Any way I can't wait for the new camos.

Really great work. We've begun using your mod for our units uniforms recently. Very well done. We've heard nothing but great things from our membership about them so far. Looking forward to seeing what's in store next. Cheers
