Arma 2 AV-8B Harrier II Port

After RHS released.

How about think about plan to port An2 or russian's big ass aircraft?

Someone already porting A50 but its impossible to take off.

There are no "big ass aircrafts" for the russians that compare to the C-130 in Arma 2, at least in the basic game.

Maybe there's some custom model around. :confused:

I reworked the materials textures a bit, now it's not shining like hell anymore.

Also i tweaked the cockpit glass since it had weird colors, now it whould be slightly more transparent and generally better looking than before.

Later this week i'm gonna do some more changes, fix the collision lights and relocate the pilot to the correct height.

I tweaked the cockpit glass which is not so dark anymore, tweaked the reflections and blurriness and fixed the pilot position to a proper height.

Nice work! Still a lot to do, but that's great! I'll keep pounding on those textures 'till they are killer.

Oh, no update on the HUD (or Geraldobolso is still working on it?)? And Kazimierz´s skins are going to be implemented or it will be optional/plug-ins?

Zukov, I´m also a Jumpjet-lover... but I fly all A3 modded planes (thou the Harrier has a special place in my flyboy heart)

I already tried but it doesn't work, it was also reported by other people so i'm guessing it's an engine issue.

East Altis Customs payed a visit to the Harrier today and added new dampers.

It looks like a low rider now but i like it, it's definitely an upgrade over the old rigid one.

BTW; does anyone know how to make separate texture overlays for the numbers on the airplane. I know the RHS mod does this with their Su-25's, by which they don't all look the same..

And in other advice requests; who knows how to remove or change the mirrored side of the BiS airframe?

You need a new surface on the model, AKA it isn't just textures.

Then i guess it's gonna need a randomization script for them so they're never the same.

If you can make the numbers i can make the proper modifications to the model i guess, it doesn't look so hard.

Same with the other surfaces or details i think (name of the pilot/squadro/whatever).

Not really a modeler so take anything I say with a pinch of salt but AFAIK the proper way would be to redo the whole UV map. But you could perhaps get away with (more wastefully) assigning the vertices from one side to a copy of the original texture and reverse those details that won't mirror in the texture itself. Or move such details (typically lettering or insignia) onto separate hidden selections (ala RHS decals).

Any love for the cockpit textures?

I think the separate hidden selections is an easier and faster way, you don't need to make drastic changes, it's what BIS does with the Clan logo and the squad.xml thing.

I wanted to do it for the Mi-8 but didn't spend much time over it (mostly because i suck at photoshop).

You could add the clan logo, but it'd have to be added to the p3d model, and included inside config with proper hiddenselections

Cockpit textures are not on my list yet.. What do you have in mind then?

This is what i was thinking, remaking the whole UV maps is really not worth the trouble if it's just for the number on the side and a couple more details imho.
