cleggy 297 Posted August 21, 2015 First my wife leaves me to live in squalor with an illegal immigrant, and now this.... Hey, I've got an idea - why don't we talk about Rocks Eurofighter? Cor, look at the polys on that!!
wordy-uksf 38 Posted August 21, 2015 Any chance for some eurofighter gameplay ?
rksl-rock 1301 Posted August 22, 2015 Any chance for some eurofighter gameplay ? I don't want to show it just right now. The cockpit and HUD is a bit of a mess in the current test version. Maybe soon. But just to keep life interesting... lets play one of my old favourite games. Correctly Identify this aircraft and I'll release some Typhoon updates as well as some more teasers. :) All RKSL staff are barred as are the lads from The Rifles GU that saw the earlier teasers. And anyone that was subscribed to my Streaming seminars of the last month! I know who you are!!!! :)
wordy-uksf 38 Posted August 23, 2015 OK I might be crazy but that looks like a glider cockpit. Powered glider to be exact. BUTTTTT... after team effort, we call it. Black Shape Prime

Lugi 25 Posted August 23, 2015 Is it the rear cockpit of a Hawk T2? Its definitely not your GR9 and its not a Tonka or a Typhoon, I was going to take a shot in the dark with the ETPS Alpha Jet.. Did a google image search and its an avaya ip phone.... :)
mistyronin 1181 Posted August 23, 2015 Is it the rear cockpit of a Hawk T2? That is not a Hawk, or at least not the normal version. It's neither a Super Tucano, Viking T1, Vigilant, VC10 Uhm... It feels like is gonna be a little aircraft. It can't be too old... I'm quite curious...

wordy-uksf 38 Posted August 23, 2015 But But....3 hours of research and the closest we could find was Black Shape Frame :( Is it something British ?
rksl-rock 1301 Posted August 23, 2015 But But....3 hours of research and the closest we could find was Black Shape Frame :( Is it something British ? OK i suppose it is a bit much to throw it out there with no frame of reference to work with. It is part of the Ilhas Africanos Project. It is civilian - i am not aware of any military varients. It is twin seat. There are clues in the dials... if you are aviation minded.
da12thMonkey 1943 Posted August 23, 2015 (edited) All RKSL staff are barred Aww, no fun: I had no prior knowledge on this one! Obviously I have the best google-fu here though, because I'm pretty sure I've found out what it is now. ;) But rules is rules... Ed:- As you say, the dials (two of them at least) were the starting point I used to find it out. Edited August 23, 2015 by da12thMonkey
Lugi 25 Posted August 23, 2015 I initially thought it was an auto gyro.... or a BD5 Microject

rksl-rock 1301 Posted August 23, 2015 IAP - Civilian Gyrocopter: As promised, just a few screenies and a bit of back story. The aircraft is just meant to be a bit of something fun to play with. I started modelling it while sat in an airport bored to tears waiting for the weather to clear.Oddly enough this all started because i was looking into flight models. I was actually writing a tutorial for someone and i realised there were no Autogyros, at least none done properly. And with BIS' announcement about Tonoa and their nice new planes I thought IAP could use something unique. So the Arrowcopter AC20 seemed like a good option. The model isn't complete, for the sharp eyed among you you'll notice some missing bits, vanes, cowels etc. There are still some things i want to add, change and adapt to suit my plans but its getting there. http://rock.rkslstudios.info/IAP/images/WIP/iap-gyro-19.JPG http://rock.rkslstudios.info/IAP/images/WIP/iap-gyro-18.JPG http://rock.rkslstudios.info/IAP/images/WIP/iap-gyro-17.JPG http://rock.rkslstudios.info/IAP/images/WIP/iap-gyro-16.JPG http://rock.rkslstudios.info/IAP/images/WIP/iap-gyro-15.JPG http://rock.rkslstudios.info/IAP/images/WIP/iap-gyro-13.JPG I'm not going home tonight. I'm still in the pub... :) The Typhoon update will follow in the next few days.
