SissiSaatana 1 Posted February 13, 2014 (edited) I agree its a great mod, but have you been playing this lately?? If so I would be interested in know when and how because I haven't seen a populated (more than 0 players) TacBF server in a good while. And that makes me sad. I've been playing on the at http://arma3.swec.se/server/data/17196 it seems to be populated on fridays and saturdays 19-01 (gmt +0) clock (two times in a row now at least ) and there's been really good team play mentality kudos to all guys who have been playing there with me  ps. it makes me sad also that there is so few players, I have trouble playing other mod's lately cause I simply feel that they lack so much lol (I am heavily into pvp^^) Why should they if it's not part of the game, not everyone who gets the game is interested in downloading mods for it. Yeah, I get that. But I would hope more people tried it out, because I feel they are missing out. DayZ was a mod as well, and enormously popular. It's possible for a mod to be popular, so I just don't get why more people aren't playing it. It is really, really good. +1 There's so much more to arma than just vanilla arma there is all kind of tastes like chocolate and strawberry + many more^^ Edited February 13, 2014 by SissiSaatana

spanishsurfer 58 Posted February 13, 2014 I found your server and have played it quite a bit the last couple of days. Great sever. Ive looked over the tutorials a couple of times but my mind is still blown as of how the game is actually played. Im gonna have to sit down and read over it thoroughly. Put out some more detailed tutorial vids. I learned a lot from the first one. ---------- Post added at 23:59 ---------- Previous post was at 23:55 ---------- Also, are there any tips on knowing enemies from friendlies? I know the colors are different but they both look camo to me. Is one a darker camo color than the other? If you join our TS channel arma.ofps.net or talk on VON the regulars will help. If they give you a hard time tell them SpanishSurfer told you to ask for help. I am working on getting more Youtube videos but lately I've been upgrading the mission and my computer crashed last week. I should have one this weekend and a few more next week. big_t 1 Posted February 13, 2014 Thanks aLmAnZo & SissiSaatana , I will try to get on during those times. My question is this and it's not meant to be a slight to BI: Why isn't TacBF part of the normal build by now? Or at least easy to load and play? I understand it is a mod and needs to be loaded but why does the average "filthy casual" have to go though the tedious steps of downloading the mod from armaholic, installing, then activating and restarting for every different mod they want to play? This is 2014 we have the technology, why is mod loading not implemented at the "ingame" level by now? ie: The game picks and chooses which mods to load depending on the pre-requisites of the map/mission being played. (I'm fairly sure this was happening with old shooter games in the past, if memory serves) Mods make the game great why not make it easier for players to try them out? It's the next best thing to an ingame mod organizer, and it works perfectly. For TacBF, simply search for it, right click and select "make preset with mod", click update and then launch. Bam, your ingame and can browse the server browser for a server running TacBF. You can use PwS to find servers as well, and have the game launch and join a server with one simple click. Or you could find a server first, and simply right click it and select activate server. Downloads the MOD repo automaticly, and the game launches right into the server lobby. PwS is pure gold. RushHour 11 Posted February 14, 2014 I think he means like how it was in for example Counter-Strike. If you wanted to play on a server with mods just join and the game will download everything you need to play on the server. Probably the most streamlined mod service ever. xx_fr0st-w0lf_xx 10 Posted February 15, 2014 In the beta/alpha there was a server called VIP. One team had to escort a players to 5 location on the map and the other team had to kill this VIP before he reaches all 5 places. It was the most epic time i have had on arma. Agreed, it would have been nice for Arma to have something similar, or if not, there needs to be more Workshop integration. Perhaps, the higher quality custom content could be verified and displayed more within the game, similar to the way Rockstar verify custom content on GTAO. Considering the variety of stuff a server could potentially have, perhaps an extra tab on the server list in the bottom right of the screen could display the mods used and a simple download button for each. Dont see why server owners wouldnt be happy to host a FastDL server for their content.

A quick search on google for PwS comes up with a weapons manufacturer and some info on Prader-Willi Syndrome. And this is my point exactly, a quick method of Mod loading should not have to be whispered in the ear on some back thread on a forum: All mods should be easily accessible in game. If the game devs don't feel like making content but leave it to the player base (make arma not war contest etc) thats fine and in all honesty probably makes for better games, but I have a feeling most of that effort from the mod developers goes to waste as not many people know about the mods. T http://play.withsix.com/ SixUpdater and PlaywithSix have been around for quite some time, are stickied pretty much everywhere on the forum and mentioned in almost every mod thread. Not really their fault if noone is willing to listen. There's heaps of other tools available if you'd spend about a minute on armaholic. Mods aren't a popularity contest. Anyway, once workshop support is done all this is pretty much moot.

ratszo 17 Posted February 18, 2014 Any PvP is good PvP. Try'em all. The main thing is to stick with a server you like...; be a regular..., talk to the admins..., and even throw a donation to the server if you can. As your play-time, or desires change, keep looking, and support, the server that meets your needs. As i said..., there's no bad PvP.
