Tankbuster 1747 Posted September 13, 2015 you will lose nothing, SSE2 one should become the next default one Excellent. Thank you.
djotacon 190 Posted September 14, 2015 new variant of TBB 4.4 allocator released on the https://www.dropbox.com/sh/582opsto4mmr8d8/3BSy9PdRGm it's compiled with SSE2 support (previous non-SSE2 library is there too in cases of trouble) Testing the new allocator I see a a fps drop in the YAAB test of Arma 3 23.4 to 24.7 using the default allocator instead the new allocator with SSE2. I use the stable 1.50 (not the performance one) combined with the new allocator.

djotacon 190 Posted September 14, 2015 I'd say that's still within the margin of error. Unless those numbers are averages of multiple runs. This is a average fps result of the YAAB test. Testing 3 times. Default memory allocator: 24.7 (average fps) New allocator 23.4 (average fps) Default allocator again: 24.5 (average fps new run with a new result and a margin error of 0.2 fps). Dwarden 1125 Posted September 14, 2015 djotacon did you tested also the SSE vs SSE2 one ? (both are on dropbox) please do realize the only difference is compiling switch in VS https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/vstudio/7t5yh4fd(v=vs.110).aspx the difference between previous allocator and actual one are fixed crashes and bugs (as see in the Intel's TBB changelog)
MonnieRock 2 Posted September 14, 2015 Dwarden, Thank you for all the time and effort you put into trying to make Arma the best it can be. Running the TBB 4.4 allocator with SSE Running the arma3client_performance_150_132376_v7.exe YAAB is giving me 37.2(three run average) Default Ultra Setting 1080p(1920x1080) 4960x @ 4.5ghz TitanX@ Stock Thank you, Monnie

chris-t 1 Posted September 22, 2015 I tried various performance builds, and none of those had any impact on the Koth server. Same old song, inside the circle frames drop to 20 and below. AMD FX 8350 @ 8x 4.4 Ghz Nvidia GTX 780 Win 10 16 GB Really, NO change at all. I call placebo. PS. Why is my bi studio account reset? I posted here even before the Arma 2 release :(

eriktrak 76 Posted September 24, 2015 Playing on KOTH server without performance client gave me 20-25 fps on average. After the perf client been installed went up to 25-35 fps. Number of players were around the same in both session. However beginning in the mission i had serious desync problem for 2-3 minutes (yellow/red chain, objects movig forward and backward) Dont know if it is related to the perf client or not. Gonna test again today. Improvement definitely visible.

eriktrak 76 Posted September 25, 2015 Is the Steam version updated (using: CautionSpecialProfilingAndTestingBranchArma3)? So performance client available only using dropbox download?
Dwarden 1125 Posted September 25, 2015 Is the Steam version updated (using: CautionSpecialProfilingAndTestingBranchArma3)? So performance client available only using dropbox download? it's the same, but not always the STEAM is updated (especially prior weekend or at weekend) my dropbox is simpler as you just download 1 binary (and dll if there is new allocator)
Lefty Guns 0 Posted September 25, 2015 Hi, What is the difference between the client_performance and client_profiling executable? I have been using only the client_performance + allocator when updated. Thanks, Lefty

Cobrajr 0 Posted September 27, 2015 Whats happened to the chimera servers?Have only seen one for the last week and its has high ping since it's in France. Myself and a bunch of friends usually play on US1 (Montreal?) because of the low ping and it just runs so much better than other KOTH servers.

chris-t 1 Posted September 30, 2015 What happens now with the 1.52 build? Are your optimizations in that or do you need to continue to tweak the build?
Dwarden 1125 Posted September 30, 2015 all from 1.50.performance binaries is in 1.52.stable only TBB allocator in 1.52.stable is SSE , not SSE2 ... (that's why I keep it on dropbox) so wait until new PERF binaries with new round of fixes, tweaks and optimizations
Greenfist 1863 Posted September 30, 2015 only TBB allocator in 1.52.stable is SSE , not SSE2 ... (that's why I keep it on dropbox) Why is that? SSE2 is not stable enough or does it just need more testing?
