oshydaka 1 Posted January 28, 2015 Do it while in-game.Yes, just read TF_speak_volume_level variable as far as I remember. So i can just do something like _volume = TF_speak_volume_level player; ? Will try that later ^^
KushAllDay 10 Posted January 28, 2015 Hi, I am trying to setup my server with TFR. I want it on serious mode, and I want everyone to spawn with it already enabled. What do I need to do ? Are there any tutorials to installing this to my dedicated server ? I just want to use it as an alternative to VOIP. Any help would be much appreciated :)
NeroSD 10 Posted January 28, 2015 My Game crashed sometimes if I used the long range radios, 10 minutes ago I played Arma 3 with TFAR and I was in a helicopter as Pilot. I used the long range radio and after...3-4 times the game crashed..this "game crash" is normal if I use an long range radio... :( The screen freezed and after 2-3 seconds TFAR disconnected and the only way to quit the game was to open the task manager and quit the arma3.exe process. I need help, I dont know if thats the right place for this question, but I want to play without these crashes every 10 minutes... LG Nero :)
soulis6 24 Posted January 28, 2015 Not sure how this happened, but while playing yesterday we ran into the situation where I could hear my friend over the radios as normal, but when he talked locally it was just coming through on teamspeak as if TFAR didn't exist(i.e. regardless of range, no positional audio, etc). We both tried to reconnect, reset the game, turned off teamspeak and back on, but we we're still having the same problem, along with the local teamspeak audio randomly cutting in and out. Has anyone else seeing anything like that? Corrupted TS plugin maybe? We're both on the current version and had been using it before yesterday working perfectly. soulis6 24 Posted January 28, 2015 Hm... Any error in TS? Have you friend changed nickname? Have you tried on another server/mission? I didn't see any errors, and no he hasn't changed his nickname. We were in a new channel though, but we didn't have anything config'd in the mission to limit TS channels or anything. But we will try again on some other servers or missions, thanks for the super quick response!

maddogmcewan 10 Posted January 29, 2015 Have installed TF Radio on server. Latest version of TFR and ARMA3, and TS3.... If i host a LAN, radio kicks in and swops me to the TaskForceRadio Channel no problem On windows public server with @CBA mod installed I add the @task_force_radio to the start up init, i copied the two keys [TF]Nkey8.bikey and [TF]Nkey7.bikey to the server keys folder, but it kicks people when they try to connect even if they have TF installed and keys and userconfig all set up correctly.... If i remove the @task_force_radio, people running the mod connect fine, but after joining they get message saying Task Force Radio is not running on this server.... PLEASE any ideas.... we have tried so many "solutions" but no go

gundy 10 Posted January 30, 2015 Hey nkey and team, a question for TvTs. Right now you seem to have the option of either having everyone on the server in the same TS channel or to separate the teams into different TS channels. The first option allows everyone to hear everyone else when in close proximity as well as allows the enemy to listen to your radio comms when they obtain one of your radios. The second option keeps everything completely separate. Unfortunately neither approach is great for an open (JIP, everyone allowed) TvT game mode such as TacBF. Now what would be great to have, is the option to allow local close proximity comms be shared by everyone (i.e. I can hear the enemy talk when they are around the corner), but at the same time prevent an enemy from using captured radio equipment from listening in. The reason for not allowing captured radios to be used: About 5 minutes into each session, both teams will be equipped with enemy radios, compromising radio communications for the remaining 40 minutes of the session. And while teams in a "closed" TvT session (fixed teams, everyone is there from the start and probably knows one another) might have put protocols in place (like code words) to prompt everyone to switch to a new set of frequencies, teams in an "open" TvT will have members that come and go during the session. For comms to work relatively intuitive it needs to be enough to just switch to a pre-defined channel by only using the NUM-pad keys to start communicating with your squad. The reason for still allowing close proximity comms: Being able to hear your enemy approach (if they aren't too careful) is great for the immersion and just adds to the anxiety people feel when they get into close quarter combat. It just makes everything feel more alive. Is there any way of that can be achieved today? If not, any plans on adding such an option?

Thank you! more info on ts status : Task Force Radio Status (0.9.7):Connected N Play N P:0.9.7 A: 0.9.7 - My sound card is a SoundBlaster Recon3D PCIE - The sound is read via optical out to my 5.1 Pioneer MCS-737 - Everything worked fine before i've installed my Geforce gtx980 - Other sounds (in games, dvd,ect...) works fine in 5.1. - I've tried the option "mono to stereo" and "mono to surround (if available)" with and without "allways set client 3d position" TFAR not support 5.1 output, only stereo. mono to stereo should be enabled in TS. try temporaty to switch system to stereo and check how it works... gundy 10 Posted February 1, 2015 Hm... But you can remove enemry radios from inventory. Or setup new frequencies every round by script? Well, I guess one could run a script that constantly checks for enemy radios and removes them. Possible, though not very slick. Set up new frequencies at the end of the round, well, that won't help since the enemy still needs to obtain a radio with the correct encryption keys at which point they will also have the new frequencies. The trouble with it is that good parts of both teams are going to speak or at least understand English. If one would pick up an enemy radio, be able to hear something but not understand, well, that would actually be okay and even a cool thing, but probably not so easy to achieve. Its just something to think about, after all it probably only applies to a small percentage of the ArmA 3 player base (most seem to play Coop or other none competitive modes).
