infiltrator_2k 29 Posted November 15, 2013 I was doing some editing tonight when I previewed the mission which I was working on. The wife walks into the room and looks at the display... "Gosh, that looks real" she said... (I had 8 Blufor paratroopers travelling on board a Ghost Hawk) "What, the guys in the chopper?" I asked.. "They look as though they're going to be sick" she replied... "That's how soldiers usually look before they go into battle" I replied.

dav 22 Posted November 15, 2013 Agreed the graphics are realistic, kudos to bis for keeping it real, way more immersive. Too many games these days go for a cartoon look.

It's amazing though how the quality of your card can have such a huge impact on the eye candy. Unless it's Special Operations Units. Very true. I'm aware of the vigorous selection for the SAS and SBS; Special Forces are another breed. You can only imagine the energy and enthusiasm they have to carry out operations that they've trained so hard for.
theevancat 277 Posted November 18, 2013 My friends just think that they've all had strokes whenever I show them screenshots.

13islucky 10 Posted November 18, 2013 You mean the "Hurrrr so dark, so real, so gritty!" Don't forget about film grain and lens flare, two effects that you obviously find in real life that make things look realistic.
Bouben 3 Posted November 18, 2013 Don't forget about film grain and lens flare, two effects that you obviously find in real life that make things look realistic. Lens flare are real in certain conditions. You should go outside sometimes.
xendance 3 Posted November 18, 2013 Lens flare are real in certain conditions. You should go outside sometimes. Lens flare happens because camera objectives have multiple lenses. Each lens causes a "flare". Human eye does not do that.
nodunit 397 Posted November 19, 2013 He's probably referring to the flare effect that takes place when looking at the sun through our eyelashes.
becubed 24 Posted November 19, 2013 Unless it's been changed you only get lense flare in Arma in 3rd person view
maffa 29 Posted November 20, 2013 when they run they all look like they pooped in their pants. this looks particularly evident to me when we file up to get in the chopper. they look like they are reluctant to get in "Do i really have to? for reals?"
Mirek 166 Posted November 20, 2013 Well the movement animation looks terrible. Soldiers looking like they have dildo in theyr butt when they move. :( Arma II movement animation isnt that smooth, but atleast doesnt look like butfucked ducks running.
