when will new arma 3 content be out?

Recommended Posts

ok, so personally, im very disapointed with the content in this game, i still love it, but for example, theres no BLUFOR jets, or OPFOR jets, just the classic jets that people want to see, i couldnt care what jets they are, as long as there are a few, but there just isnt. Theres hardly any attack heli's either, like all the AH helicopters, AH-1Z and the AH-64, mi-24 and mi-28 ect ect, its also the same with the weapons, where are all of the AK variants, M4 variants and M16 variants ect ect, all of the classic guns, m249, m24, barrett .50, blah blah, all of the obvious stuff, ive been told by a friend that because the game is set in the future, that none of that will be added, but i dont see why there cant just be like a rebel faction with older gear, ie, things around now, so are all these things going to be added, and if they are, does anybody know when, surely it wont take them long to add a few weapons, anyway, any info would be nice, thanks.

How are M4, M16 and M249 "obvious stuff"? The whole point of the 2030 era setting was to get more freedom regarding weaponry and setting.

Oldschool content (A2CO content) will be released in form of MLODS available for everyone to modify. that's it.

as for DLCs, expect lots of future stuff.

BIS are preparing to release updated modding tools as i remember. Not know yet, when arma2 mlods will come. This month, i hope, they will bring the second episode of campaign, with nato and csat cas fixed wings.

More content is on the way as stated by the devs, it will be added with future Campaign DLCs, maybe even later as free stuff (very unlikely as free). So be patient, it takes some time to create content and then properly implement into the game.

I agree, I do miss M4s and M16s, but a lot of good mods are already out there. I have a feeling BI doesnt wanna add any current stuff in, just to save some money if they have to pay for licences of the guns. On that note, I understand their decission.

On the other hand, game already has a lot more content than A2 had, before all the DLCs.

I also miss the 'old classics'

I don't really want to install ARMA2 and use All-in-ARMA

I'd pay for a good port of ARMA2 content as a DLC.

Content? Seems they are way too busy fixing their broken mission. They seem to careless about performance fixes or the content that was supposed to in the game from the release date. And, if you even ask these questions you get banned by the BI Bois.

No tool kit, no content, everything broken, utterly crap performance. And please don't even start about the client's pc performance. There is no possible the way EVERYONER has a Pentium 4...

I wouldn't hold my breath on any content or fixes. Next is another broken "Campaign" or something...

Hello there

One is allowed to challenge the status quo, but the "BI bois" tend to prefer it if ,quite rightly, one doesn't rant.

I must admit, I've stopped playing A3 now, it just doesn't grab me personally. I think it's aiming at a wider audience and i'm on the periphery of the venn diagram.

I would think some small new content would be added with the campaign but am not expecting anything overwhelming. I'd imagine a DLC of the "Czech Forces DLC" size would be on the cards in the not to distant future.

A3 is still "new". Wait for it (and its content) to mature over the next year or so.

Rgds

Most of the weapons and vehicles of the game based in ones that are in service right now, just not in the US Army.

You have the Comanche ( which was supposed to be the AH64 successor ), and the Kajman is some kind of tunned Hind.

So if I understand properly, you would prefer that in every version of the game they deliver the same vehicles and weapons ( aks, m4, apaches, hinds, etc. )? Because a lot of Arma players have complained these last six years precisely about that ( that BI always added the same stuff ).

Ye, but it`s not THE actual weapon, that is what I am refering to.

Personally I'm still eagerly awaiting for a second faction to be added.

And if you think that's an exaggeration - try f.e. telling blufor arty from opfor arty at night. Same goes for APCs. And drones look absolutely the same during the day too (plus they engage on their own due to having magical human pilots inside).

ok well

i dont see how they arent obvious stuff, theres basically the MX variants and Katiba variants, just because a gun is old, dosent mean that they still arent in service, theres hundreds of examples of weapons that were designed in the 50s, 60s ect, that are still in service, most have been tweaked yes, but the basic design of the gun remains, in 2030, chances are most of those guns in some form will still be around, so i dont see how they arent obvious, we're playing a game with no content, im getting bored of using MX after MX after MX, and again, if you read, i said there should be some sort of rebel faction that uses older, more outdated weaponry
You have the Comanche ( which was supposed to be the AH64 successor ), and the Kajman is some kind of tunned Hind.
the commanche was not designed to be the AH-64's successor, and thats irrelivant as the program was cancelled, so why is it even in the game anyway?, the AH-64 is still in service and still will be for years, where as the commanche is not, so i dont see how the AH-64 isnt in ARMA 3, and the kajman is nice but i still think again, there should be atleast a rebel faction using older soviet helicopters and finally

no i dont want all games to be the same, but to be honest, i enjoy the engine changes, new look to the arma game more than the content changes, and i think part of the fun about a game like arma should be the massive variety in weapons, vehicles ect ect, im not saying they should add random guns that didnt see much service, but there are lots of really famous weapons that i think should be in any shooter, like the AK's and M16's because right now, again, im just bored of a lack of choice...

I'm afraid that (1) it's a game, so i don't care if a Commanche is included (2) no Ak or M16 have never been promised, but will be ported by modders (who are the heart and soul of those games) (3) ArmA isn't part of "any shooters".

There is already a wishlist topic BTW.

Maruk shot this down as "beyond what we can do in reasonable time" which is why the Arma 2 MLODs are being offered to the public in the first place.

In fact, Aks and M16 / M4 had already been made by the community, with dozens of other weapons and vehicles. The OP should check Sudden's Russians mod or Massi NATO/Russian Weapons pack.

Improving performance and optimisation is the most important thing that needs to be focused on right now (even though yes it is a different group of people doing that to creating content), unfortunately they are doing a pretty good job of making it look like they don't care about that at the moment.

Like I said at the launch. The waiting has just only started. The true potential we can see half years after the release or later. This is still a beta IMO.

I disagree.

Of course, the mod you are talking about are beautiful mods: no discussion about that.

But the lack of content is present in arma3 and the missing content should be given by devs and not by modder.

+ 1 other vehicle, it might be the greenfor mbt/tracked vehicle.

I meant IFV not MBT ;)

While I do agree that the game lacks lots of content I think its nice to have different stuff that we dont see in other games as often. M16/Ak 47/74 has been in literally all modern war games(including Arma cold war assault/arma1/Arma2 not counting bf/cod/moh. Instead we get new and fresh things.

And while I understand that some love the ak and cant see a game without it, its still one of the most overused firearms in history of gaming(and theres lots of other nice weapons rebels and guerillas can use, for example G3/Fn FAL amongst others).

When it comes to helicopters, first the AH 64 apache wasnt in Arma 2 in release, it wasnt added until later patches, and The Mi 28 wasnt in the game at all. And while there are less attack helicopters in Arma 3 it doesnt reall matter. Its true that Arma 3 so far lacks fixed wing but it will soon be corrected in later patches.

Why does the AAF need a tank? Seriously, aren't they supposed to be inferior to the other two factions and not on the same technological level and above the other two factions?

That's only Papanowel's speculation, notice how the actual SITREP is far more vague and only says "vehicle"? I'm guessing that the already-confirmed CSAT jet is among the three, and we know that a BLUFOR fixed-wing aircraft is supposed to be in the pipeline, but no hints there re: the specific three cited so I'm not holding my breath.

I doubt any high tech military would still be using Su-34s or Harriers, which scratches off CSAT and NATO. In base arma 2, before Eagle Wing, there was no Apache, just the AH-1Z and Mi-24 variants for a gunship as far as I'm aware, which is parallel to our current situation with a Commanche and the Kajman.

I would enjoy more old weapons, considering modern insurgents will still use No. 4 Lee Enfields, but frankly I don't see that coming for a while. Development time is also worth noting, as has been said on this forum before. On the bright side though, more content is supposed to come with the other 2 campaign episodes, possibly including that CSAT CAS concept.
