Pomi Git 256 Posted May 14, 2013 (edited) I've spent the past couple of weeks working on a Private Military Contractors mod. It's at a point where im close to releasing an early version and wanted to share some pictures. Id really value feedback and input. Please tell me what you would like to see, what don't you like etc... This is my first proper mod so go easy :) I also expect this mod to continue to change and develop as new content is added to the game, so what you see here, really is a starting point. Current Features: Custom textured PMC uniforms - I spent a ridiculous amount of time rebuilding the blufor combat uniform pants from scratch but im happy with the results. Custom textured PMC headgear Custom textured vests Custom textured underwear (cant forget those!) Custom UI icons for all uniforms, headgear, vests Unit Classes based on A2OA PMC Groups based on A2OA PMC PMC Black MH9 and PMC Pilot Units use a mixture of different rifles including M4 rifles from the Hellenic Armed Forces mod and Mp7 by Christian1987 Using Blackwater logos but I might change this since they are now called ACADEMI Here's a list of the units as they stand at the moment: Bodyguard 1 Bodyguard 2 Bodyguard 3 Security Contractor (MX) Security Contractor (MX-GL) Field Technican (repair) Field Medic Field Specialist (LMG) Team Coordinator Tactical Pilot Security Contractor (M4) Defensive Marksman Security Contractor (M4-GL) Here's some preview photos These are the bodyguards Tactical Pilots in the black MH9. It's probably hard to see in this picture but he is wearing a sand coloured blufor pilot helmet. Im also thinking of doing a custom texture for the MH9 too. Tom_48_97 523 Posted May 14, 2013 That's really a good start point. Have you defined a kind of roadmap or a list of what you want for the following of your work? I'm looking forward.

das attorney 858 Posted May 14, 2013 They look awesome :) One word though - beards! (Maybe as part of cap so it's a helmet item as such)
purepassion 22 Posted May 15, 2013 Very nice! The units are looking excellent pomigit :) And if putting some logos on the helicopters isn't too much of a hassle for you, go for it! Perhaps something like this with a additional logo As for improvements, it would be nice nice if you could let some of the bodyguards also use the vest which includes a holster :)
nikita320106 0 Posted May 15, 2013 more jeans and t-shirts)pls wait so mach!

instagoat 133 Posted May 15, 2013 The combat shirts with the plaid patterns look weird, though. Why not give them some rad commercially available camo mixes, and use for example the rangemaster clothing along with the jeans one you unlocked for civilian plain clothing? I´ve made new normals, SMDI, AS and base colour retexes for the blufor units, but I don´t understand configs so I couldn´t test them ingame yet beyond slapping the texture on units that have hidden selections available. My brother has made available to me a slew of camouflages for pretty much every origin that could be used to represent commercially made Uniforms purchased by PMCs. Maybe you would be interested in a cooperation, if my work turns out to be at all adequate?
Scorch052 1 Posted May 16, 2013 Can you make a black t-shirt with multicam pants. pls and tyvm
HorbeySpector 164 Posted May 17, 2013 Can you make a black t-shirt with multicam pants This would be awesome. Also full black combat uniform with a black combat vest would be nice. :)
dissaifer 10 Posted May 17, 2013 Wow these look really good!
bugkill 7 Posted May 17, 2013 Great work! My only suggestion is to get rid of the Blackwater symbol on the caps and replace it with flags or other symbols, and to also restrict those pattern shirts to only the bodyguard units with only a small size plate carrier, light vest, or bandolier. PN11A 2 Posted May 19, 2013 Ditto on the black water patches, as gucci as it seems not really a good idea.

TFM_Callas 1 Posted May 22, 2013 Ditto on the black water patches, as gucci as it seems not really a good idea. Exactly why is it not a good idea? I think it's a great idea.
bugkill 7 Posted May 22, 2013 Exactly why is it not a good idea? I think it's a great idea. Blackwater is no longer called Blackwater, and I never seen a Blackwater employee wear a blackwater cap while in country (Some may have back at base, but I never seen them wearing one when I was on patrol and came across them from time to time). I've seen them with various ball caps, but not the one that has Blackwater on it. Also, it is better to leave it off to make the units sterile so the mission makers can have the freedom to call them whatever they want (PMC or SOF). There were various PMC companies over in Iraq and A-stan, so I feel it would be a bad idea for him to give his units any identification to a specific company or unit. So your justification is it wouldn't be milsim-tastic and not completely accurate to life.....who cares? Maybe I WANT a blackwater emblem. There are already vanilla ball caps with a million ahead in the years to come and last time I checked this isn't ArmA 2 where the characters look and gear was essentially set in stone. So add a little character. Maybe not on every piece of gear but offer a vanilla and a branded one.

No, my justification is that his units should be sterile as default, but he can have the hat available if mission makers want to use it. His addon is called Private Military Contractors, not Blackwater USA. I'm pretty confident that most guys who will be using his addon would prefer that the Blackwater hats not be with the default units, but would be fine if the hat is available for use by assigning it to a specific unit in the editor or config. PN11A 2 Posted May 23, 2013 You mad bro? Wearing logo's overseas make you a target.
OneRandomTiger 1 Posted May 23, 2013 I'd think it would be better if they were kept general tbh. You aren't really going to notice the badge half the time so why bother?
