Arma 3 during the day, and DayZ at night messes with you a bit...

I have left the default button assignments for both Arma 3 and Dayz (Arma 2 addon) and so far I have done well, except for the part where arma 3 transposed the Shift with the C button...so now when I go to stand and run.. i hunker down and move slower.. ultimately to my demise..

I think I would have gotten used to it by now or changed it, but I figured I would try to keep it stock until the full version came out...and bouncing back and fourth between the two isnt helping any...

anyone else doing this?

In any case I am having a blast in the new environment.. Look forward to gaming with you guys in the future!

Can't even express how many times this happens.. Usually ends up like this:

"Qbert do you have any spare mags?"

yeah, i was one of many "lucky" guys, who were first in multiplayer when arma 3 alpha just arrived. Can't count anymore, how many times people blew eachother up at spawn because of that. :D

After grenading myself 4 times (it was lucky the last two were smokes) in the Infantry showcase in 8 minutes, I rebound my keys:

Ctrl+G : Grenade

Ctrl+R : Change grenade type.

Problem? Solved.

I already got used to 'I' and I've changed grenade binding to doublepress G for safety reasons.

Yes.. yes I do haha.. actually it would make sense to spend the time to rebind, but I dont have the patience to do that anymore.. I used to do it with every update from my battlefield days, but now... not so much...and I try to play stock set up.. at least for the alpha

This! I guess I'm just old, but I enjoy digging through all the options, controls included, when I first get my hands on a game. It's kind of like when I get a new gadget, all I want to do is dig through the menus and read the manual when I'm on the john.

I guess it has something to do with being spoiled by consoles. People are complaining about the keyboard layout, while they can change it to whatever they want... Next thing they'll demand a patch to change the key for them :P

I just rebound gear back to G and grenade to a side button on the mouse. Call me old fashioned. However, that button used to be the primary/launcher switch button, so now I only throw grenades when trying to shoot the NLAW.
