freesets 11 Posted January 19, 2015 someone working on this mod here says that they could provide mlods for those that want to port ships and vehicles to arma 3. my question is who should i ask for those? i know there are 2 sets of mlods: those from OFP mod that are in sections and those from the pics a few pages back here. for my own curiosity and for the sake of the time i will wish to put into making them a3 compatible, i tested the t21 and t42 in a3 as fully assembled into 1 SINGLE model to see if the engine bring the too many vertices error: it didnt even at 21000 points and 4000faces on the fully assembled type42.( i extracted the mlod from ofp using mikero tools). i dont know how the new a2 ports looks in a3, but those from ofp with pac textures looked very good for their age, so they worth it. as a side project i will probably port the t21 as the alvand class of the iran navy(its a type21 with slight modifications) and the guerrico as fench frigate(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D%27Estienne_d%27Orves-class_aviso), to bring more opponents on the red and blue side. i ask for the ships (t21, t42, guerrico)mlods because i dont want to work on ripped content that is ripped(unproffesional work) and it might have errors too since its not oroginal. thank you. Hi, You should understand your meant to ask permission before taking content from a mod or addon, regardless if its OFP/Arma §19) Posting addon/mod other content without permissionFor many years this community has been known as the premium addon/mod creating community, people work tirelessly and in great detail to create fantastic addons/mods/missions/campaigns to release for free so that everyone benefits, including Bohemia Interactive. There are a few simple rules in place to provide the respect to these creative people/groups that they deserve: The first and most fundamental rule is that you must seek permission to alter someone's work, to mirror it or use it in any way other than for personal use. No permission, no editing, no mirroring, no adding to your mod pack, no editing and sharing around your private squad, none of that is acceptable. Obviously we cannot unfortunately control what people do outside of these forums, however on these forums you must follow this rule, if a person/team post a thread to share an addon/mod using content from someone else without permission and we receive a complaint then the mod thread will be closed until the issue is resolved and the forum member(s) risks being permanently banned from these forums for taking someone's work without permission. This isn't just limited to re-using content in addons/mods/missions however, it's not acceptable to edit someone's work without permission and then to post screenshots of it on the forums (even if the edited addon/mod is purely for personal use), it's also not acceptable to edit someone's work, or use someone's work in any way that you don't have permission for and then to create videos which you post on these forums, doing any of the above without the permission of the original creators risks a permanent ban, for individuals, for whole mod teams or squads. freesets 11 Posted January 20, 2015 (edited) Hi, You should understand your meant to ask permission before taking content from a mod or addon, regardless if its OFP/Arma thats exactly why i wrote the post: to get in contact with who can provide me with the permission to do that and the mlods. a3 is still young and the engine is evolving, thats why i ask it now and not in 2 years, by the time the engine will mature and new features appear i will have it(permission) and i could port them propely. what i did and never released(like every other addon maker experiencing stuff to learn) was to see if it might work like i want: 1 single model per ship, no proxy parts, the number of vertices, etc...because if one of those thing dont give me the results i expect then its not worth the time. so yes its for personal use only(not even use, its a static object from multiple assembled parts), otherwise mikero tool wouldnt be approved here(dep3d). i tried the arma 2 lhd, but sadly i surpass the vertices limit, so my dream of building the lhd in 1 piece with all 6 working turrets is gone for now, unless the engine changes. hope its more clear now. PS in the case that some stuff is not what i intend in my criteria(model), i have 5 original 3ds models made by me of a few european and russian ultramodern frigates under 20000 vertices that i could bring to arma 3, buts that's like 1-2 years away. why? because i want to be sure the engine is stable and the a3 expansion is out(end 2015) and also im still learning the modelling in a3 which is a lot more complicated than arma1 and 2. domokun 515 Posted July 18, 2015 Seriously I would pay money for a Falklands DLC for Arma. A2 or A3, whatever. I really think that BIS could make serious money by releasing DLC focused on specific conflicts, e.g. WW1, WW2, Korean War, African wars of Independence, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Falklands, etc. The engine lends itself to much lower tech conflicts than the near-future battlefields of 2035. I know that everyone says the BIS builds the platform and that the community supplies the content, but look at the success of DayZ and/or Counter Strike. Seriously BIS, Arma 4 is going to require more investment that any of its predecessors so why don't you rake in the revenue and extend your development cycle by releasing DLC for A3? arg_foxtrop1 54 Posted June 14, 2016 Im working on an update(last?) also we are cooperating with the guys from P85, they give us a nice cockpit for the seaharrier(Model - DamianM, Textures - Warhog ) and we will giving them some of the addons files, also DamianM advice me about the form of the sea harrier fsr1 that was very diferent from what we have made, now it looks more similar to the real thing 3 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I have two Falklands terrains: 'Falklands Scale Test' & MLV Pto Argentino (ported from A1 IIRC) Last time I looked the ai couldn't use the MLV one, or at least the town areas. As with a few people on this thread, I was in the original OFP Falklands Mod team (1982: Flashpoint in the Falklands) back in the OFP days and very happy to see that the work we all did way back when wasn't wasted.
