blackmamb 2 Posted September 13, 2012 (edited) I found something! [bitching mode] The altimeter seems to be displaying 0 while the ropes are deployed. Could this come from the script? Or is this while it's in autohover?[\bitching mode] edit: yup, looks like it's the autohover causing this. No idea from where that could come from. Is this happening with other choppers too? I could've missed that actually. Edited September 13, 2012 by BlackMamb

I dont know the reason why personally but read somewhere how to fix it, will have to do some searching ;)
blackmamb 2 Posted September 13, 2012 Very kind of you! Even though i don't think this anywhere near high-priority issue, as i don't use autohover that much.
[frl]myke 14 Posted September 13, 2012 Afaik this is related to choppers with a roadway LOD. When leveled out, the measuring point doesn't take the ground but the roadway LOD. Same effect can be observed in the editor when placing a unit on a building. It will not stand on the terrain but on top of the building where the highermost Roadway LOD level is. I don't know if there is a memory point that can be set or moved to prevent this.

R0adki11 3949 Posted September 14, 2012 Is the script usable with normal CH47s?
islesfan186 83 Posted September 14, 2012 Oh wow, the sling ropes don't stay straight like in RAV Lifter...thats badass! One thing that is missing from that though...do you think it would be possible to sling other aircraft? The -47 is capable of slinging any US Army rotary wing aircraft in currently in service (except for another -47 of course). That would definitely be awesome
konyo 14 Posted September 14, 2012 Is the script usable with normal CH47s? Dont think so, i think its only defined for the MH-47E as its on its own pbo. Sorry. That would definitely be awesome Yeah norrin's done fab work with these scripts :D Im not too sure, ill have to see. Ive seen a video of a Chinook slingloading a UH-60 before, and im pretty it had the blades removed? So will need a seprate model for the UH-60.
islesfan186 83 Posted September 14, 2012 Yeah I've seen them sling -60s, -64s and Little Birds IRL. No doubt in my mind they can sling -58s as well. They did have blades removed, but I actually did see a video on youtube of an Apache with blades on being slung...so It can be done. I think for the sake of the game we can forgive blades being on still lol. Here's the video I was referring to:

dethious82 1 Posted September 16, 2012 Just want to say amazing job on the 47!!!! I was in the 82nd airborne division, 1-17th air cav as a oh-58d mechanic, 2 deployments to afganistan in 5 years, we were right next to our soar buddies, one thing i'd have to add after viewing the screens, the fuel tanks on the bottom are a weee bit wider on most of the 47s, another thing that'd make it sooo much greater would be the option to taxi out like in real life with these big birds do, and if you could add in like a weight to power ratio, so if you are fully loaded, it'll take more power. then you'd have to have to do a longer rolling take off
tholozor 18 Posted September 17, 2012 I don't know if there's a way around Arma's current physics to allow that, but A3 should have that kind of functionaility.
konyo 14 Posted September 17, 2012 (edited) Yes as said above I think that will be an easy option to do in ArmA3. However not for ArmA2 though as its very limited in physics lol :( I should be able to port it to ArmA3 and implant these new features in there. So fingers crossed! :P Edited September 18, 2012 by konyo
astast 12 Posted September 18, 2012 400th post hell yeah, Talking about arma 3 how many of you is going to buy it? And if you are then why? I dont see it as a big problem not being able to taxi to the takeoff point, but thats just me :)
