A.C.R.E - Advanced Combat Radio Environment - 1.3 Stable - Release Thread

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. I understand that you can make any object in the game a retransmit station?

For example can we use an AI controlled C130 with rxmtAttachToObj?

The issue is I don't know how to use "rxmtAttachToObj" Where do I put it and how do I make it work?

Could someone possibly make me an extremely simple sample mission with a c130 set to retrans at maximum power and flying?

Or if a page explaining how it works already exists, please link it for me. I searched already with no success.

Same problem here, we need to extend the radio range of the 117F by using for example a vehicle and setting up a antena on the top of a hill, so it would boost radio freq range, is this possible to do ?

Where can I get a list of what radio has what range? I would like to know because I plan to create missions centered around this idea (having radiomen in teams with longer range)

i have a list.

i dont know how uptodate it is...

PRC-343 -> Item Radio- range: ca. 500 to 800 Meter

PRC 148 -range: ca. 1,5 to 3 km

-uhf-version for mountain

-vhf-version for flat land

PRC 152 - range: ca 1,5 to 3 km

PRC 119 - range: ca. 1,5 to 3 km(infantrie) to whole map (from plane/helo with high altitude)

PRC117F range ca. 5-7 km

Better list:

AN/PRC-343 500m (might get beyond that on very open terrain, probably much less in urban areas)

AN/PRC-148 UHF/VFH ~12km (VFH version has some advantages over rougher flat terrain, but it is mainly meant to talk to systems on higher frequencies).

AN/PRC-152 Same as above basically.

AN/PRC-119 ~10km

AN/PRC-117F ~20km

All of these stats are based on their highest power available and with a clear line of sight to the receiver.

The rxmtAttachToObj is broken right now so you will need to set static locations using the other API function that does this.

Try switching to stereo. Teamspeak has been breaking stuff left and right (no pun) lately regarding their 3D positional engine. If the radios are working then ACRE is enabled and working for the most part.

Nope, Doesn´t help.

I can hear everybody as he is standing right next to me regardless of the distance as long as he is in my TS channel. Makes the game pretty unplayable on a 24 Player Event...

Actually, the first ACRE version released right after TS3 3.0.0 had 7.1 sound working better than ever. Since the next update after that nothing have been working correctly when it comes to direct sound. We have quite a few guys in the group with G35 headsets, all having those problems (and all had awesome surround effect back in the first ACRE version released for TS3 3.0.0).

Now it's as bad as being able to hear perfectly someone talking while he's flying in a helicopter 100+ meters away...

Most people dont have 7.1 and TS broke stereo, which is what most people have for headsets.

Sadly there is not a lot ACRE can do about it. For the first fix we totally rewrote stereo handling on our own and left surround up to TS. Now TS is breaking stuff again I guess...

Oh well, I hope you getting around to fixing it eventually. The surround was very good when it worked.

the strange thing is, that my friend and i have a g-35. but only my friend has the problem to hear everyone far away. and also no direktion where it comes from (no 3d in direkt). on my g-35 all works great. i don´t get that.

and it worked before on his place. we both updated the same stuff and have manly the same computers. really strang bug.

it might be driver issues with your headset, I know some people though that have the same headset and it works fine...

no, we have all the same, exactly, because we tested it for 2std ;) first i look for errors sitting infront of the computer :D but this time its not our fault ...

on my sys it works on his not. and we have mainly the same system !!

hope that can be fix, from the TS crew or ACRE crew.

I have the Audio Bug as well (people 100 m away sound like they are right next to your ear)

I normally use 5.1 speakers for game audio and a Mono headset for TS3 (xbox wireless one)

I have tried setting windows audio to stereo but still got the problem :(

I hope this gets fixed soon, it is crap being able to hear everyone within 100m
