Ha! They really should implement RTT to A2OA Vanilla.

What is RTT?

Using this OA beta patch with the TKOH preview, I got 3 CTDs ("Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered"). Same video settings as listed earlier in this thread. FPS was about 22-28.

The chopper controls are MUCH harder to handle than in A2/OA. Very hard to complete unless auto trim is on. I successfully completed the flight path on Veteran!!!! :bounce3:

Landing is a pain in the ass. I got down ok, but with some damage (rotors vanished), but still could get out and finish scenario with success. Whew.

Where do I find out what "manual trim set/release" are? The TKOH website?

-------------------------

Using this beta, at the start of A2 Village Sweep scenario, the cows and bushes in the field ahead of me flash rather unrealistically in the sun that's just peeking above the trees behind me. I didn't notice that before. Does anyone else see the flashing cows? The flashing goes away after a while, and also if you move closer to them, as I guess the sun rises a little.

Never mind - the flashing is there in 79600 also - probably just a lighting occlusion issue.

Not sure if you're supposed to be running the beta patch with the TKOH preview..

Besides the point it worked and I managed to test it and now I cant stop thinking about it for ARMA2+OA :(

What I really wanted to know was if they plan to add the flight model to all the existing choppers to ARMA2+OA and the new render to texture I really hope so :O.

All so maybe they could make a

Take on aeroplanes

so we could have more realistic flight models for the planes :).

82128 causes a freeze while loading certain 3rd-party maps, first observed and tested using Mondkalb's Celle though also apparent on Beton's Huertgenwald.

Can confirm the problem only appears when using 82128.

I can confirm this. RPT does not provide any obvious clues either. EXE just goes into full CPU usage.

That happens also for me randomly when testing mission in editor. I sent crash dumbs. Seems like its not mission related. Just random.

I was loading a mission on Utes that wasn't using any third party addons, kept crashing. Then I changed it to night-time and it loaded fine. Back to dawn / day, crash.

This beta is crashing alot for me. All crashes seem Nvidia related (ACCESS_VIOLATION / nvumdshim.dll 8.17.12.7533) and *NOT* mission related.

Late, but tomorrow i'll send half a dozen crashdumps ;)

I don't think it matters much, as without the beta exe there will only be content updates in there, just like any other mod. I guess that includes resource scripts and whatever, but I don't think we'll be using much of these in TKOH. So far TKOH has been pretty stable - not a single crash (for me). Was that not the case, I might have tried removing the beta.

I haven't had much crashes, but in Domino Takistan one of the menu items in the dialogs are miscolored (also for other players), which has never happened before. Also in Chernarus I tend to get a grey horizonal line about 5-15 pixels wide in the upper left part of the screen.

Performance in these latest betas has been fantastic, and the LOD swapping is SO much better than it used to be in betas past.

I am noticing a fair bit of Z-fighting again, though. I remember a past beta being a lot better but it seems to be back now. Not a major issue but something to look at maybe. Keep up the great work, BIS!

i used the beta yesterday in a singleplayer mission.

the performance was reduced compared to vanilla Arma 2 OA note this was on a user made map (isla duala).

at the point where i needed to report in, the animation of the officer talking to me was slowing down and started to stutter.

after he was done talking and the next mission should start my game freezed.

i could only get out of the game pressing the ctrl/alt/del, got a messege arma 2 oa stopped responding.

Ye, gettin frequent crashes with this beta when using 3rd party addons or mods:

crashes appear always when loading a mission or a savegame.

With vanilla everything´s fine (apart from the artifacts).

BSOD returns on my PC. 100% BSOD after several hours of playing. Not during game, but if I try close the game or use Alt+Tab, then BSOD. RPT says nothing. No dump-files. ARMA 2 CO, no custom addons or mods.

one possible issue i have found but i`m not shure is this a problem with my system (W764) or a beta-feature:D

i can`t deinstall the beta with the uninstaller... must delete the beta manually

can anybody confirm this?

I confirm that this kind of crashes does not happen to me either, running build 79600.

It crashed again just now, rawly 1 minute after i started my first custom mission in editor.

Usual Nvidia related error:

Also this patch give me the notice:

Finally when crashing the error popup says "Arma 2 Reinforcements has stopped working ...".

I don't own Reinforcements, just OA + DLCs.

I'm packing some error stuff for Dwarden.

Has always been like this. It does not interfere with any full version files. Do NOT unistall it ! In fact just change your startup line and there is no need to touch the beta again.

Videoplayback is broken with this Beta.

Start the PMC Campagne to see it. The videos are flickering very weird constantly. I tried it with a selfmade video aswell, the video plays but the ingame world is shown flickering every second. no problems with official 1.59 patch!

END_OF_FILE

I use win 7 64 Bit and the newest ATi 11.6 Drivers.

My specs:

4GB DDR3 1333Mhz

there were no large processes in the background then ArmA.

I Will test the stable version a bit with my current setting and Drivers to see if perhaps also there are those out of memory errors.
