well I'm trying to look up the article but google is not giving me the damn link so far, they where in no way special forces, they where regular army i pretty sure of that. But like i said it might be a single time or whatever, its a couple of moths back that i saw it when i was looking for some info on the Scar variants.

I think you are right, they were given to some units for testing I think.

So Limnos is 2.4 times bigger than Takistan. Therefore 393.6 km2

Im also pretty sure in the E3 coverage i hear the guy say its their biggest island they have modeled to date?

But Sahrani is 400 km2, so...

Sahrani is 400km2 including waters around it, Lemnos 390km2 is only landmass :) It was said with all the area around it will be 900km2.

The video is filmed off screen so it's hard to tell , but most reviewers praised it's photo realism ( IGN , gaming shogun, ripten , games radar , etc )

I'm still hoping for a screen capture version of the demo :D .

You could just look at the released screenshots. :p

Though they do have this brownish color filter which doesnt look very nice.

Is that a problem? Overall, the screenshots look good. Whether or not they changed a whole lot from ArmA 2; who cares...

ehhmm you must have watched some 480p videos, otherwise i can explain it to me...

This looks like a stunning improvement to me! just look at things like object draw distance etc

Ohh and you also have to note that, during E³ you just saw the DX10 version. DX11 will follow later ;)

Not that I will be able to play it at such detail but still looks gooooood :)

I noticed one (IMHO the most important one in graphic) in one of the videos - that the HDR changes are much less drastical - even when player started looking at the bright sky (following heli) visibility was ok (no more too dark screen).

Wow is all I can say they look great shame I wont get that level of detail....EVER oh unless I win the lottery hehehehe.

yeah, thats the negative point... better visuals require better hardware. But in general you can expect an much more optimised game than Arma 2.

and regarding the lottery, well who knows? ;)

Interestingly enough people alse said that when we went from ArmA1 to ArmA2. :rolleyes:

Now i wouldnt be suprised if ArmA3 ran better than the same as ArmA2 1.0, but noone will compare it like that.

Optimisation is indeed key, im tired of having to spend so much doe in upgrading, like moreso than usual, and when i do even then not getting full performance. A2 was a total hog, but i dont blame trees, i love forest settings. Takistans desert was a bit bland and felt like a cop out. But yes the hills and angle were still great.

Wow, Sahrani is about 111km² and its pretty big... So 400km² is HUGE!

Well, TAKOH's sizes are 3.800km² for Seattle and 15.000km² for South Asia... Suddenly Sahranis 111km² doesn't seem so big anymore ;)

And yet, there is still a long way to match Daggerfalls 487.000km² :D

Yeah, in general size there many others that beat ARMA (most RPG\MMO) but in detail per m²...

Yeah I don't think anyone will claim that Daggerfalls area was particularly interesting or detailed (I recently tried without fast travel - damn that took a while!). But Oblivion is more detailed than Arma, but also smaller, and also feels cramped artificially tight probably to allow shorter draw distances. But this is Nirn, another planet, so I guess we can't scream too much when devs take certain freedoms. Biggest game I ever explored was Elite II Frontier. Naturally you can't go in real time, but a whole galaxy? And I did explore to the other end of the galaxy just to have done it - took a while :)

NOT confimed but in the credits for OA it says "Mando Missile Systems approved by US Department of Defence at todays hearing; Navy and Air Force to implement systems by 2012", my guess is we may be getting an official MMA :)
