I like Steam but I don't want it interfering with my ArmA.

I just want my game on gamersgate.com

It's basically the dvd you download.

I don't need nor want any form of statistics, achievements and what so ever.

Same efffect if you buy direct from the BIS store (link at top of page) but no middle men, BIS get all the money.

In fact that is what I think too. It's some kind of strange addiction. I cannot take it for serious, sorry.

Like one guy earlier posted he has 300 games with steam

Thats what the majority of people going on about Steam are about. Collecting a gazillion $5 games they never play.

Steam just appeals to some peoples compulsive hoarding instincts.

Remove the sales and ocassional freebies, Steam is pretty much worthless, bloated junk.

All I want is for arma 3 to have some form of digital service. Steamworks is pretty unnecessary as far as things go though, as it should just be available on steam.

All I want from arma 3 is a free pair of used teenage schoolgirl underwear and a genuine Feadog whistle. I don't know why I want those things, I just want them...

What services do you _think_ you need and why? Are you talking about auto-patching? If so, I don't really think ther's any need for that. BIS just need to make sure they don't make such a mess of some of the manual procedures. If devs get things right, there should be no problem for the user to manual patch.

I hate how everyone is like: "its so much easier to go to the store and buy my copy of the game and know its there in my dark basement with me and install it like in the old days...!" For some of us(probably just me) its not easy to just go the the videogame store and buy every fricking game we want. In my case the video game store is a "few" scandinavian miles away, over some fjords and shit, and its really expensive just to get over those fjords and over to the store.

The video game stores usually don't have any other games than the best sellers and the very new ones, and that really sucks, on Steam there are thousands of games(old and new) I can buy cheaper than at the damn video game store!

I read earlier in this thread that people didn't like how ArmA 2 patching was done in Steam and said its Steam's fault, well its not! I have many games on Steam that auto-patches and actually keeps the mod files! Its the creators fault if they didn't want the game to auto-patch correctly in Steam.

Steam is my best choice, and quite frankly I don't get why so many people hate the good parts that come with it for your games, sure there is a lot of achievement bullshit that you don't really need(and thats why you have to hate it so much...) but I have never really looked in to that stuff anyway since all I wanna do is play my games with my friends!(Its great how I get those bonuses without paying extra for them and can use them if I want to)
