Alpha-Kilo 36 Posted February 28, 2012 (edited) I talked with Josche about his problems with the G3-series and asked him to explain in detail what he did: He tested the following weapons: G3A3 with iron sights, G3A4 Sopmod, G3A4 ACOG, G3A4 Sopmod EO. Single fire, from prone position, distances 197 m, 298 m, 398 m. At 398 m he did not test the G3A3, only the scoped variants. Result as follows: Best results were achieved with G3A3. The rifle simply works as it should. Recoil is noticable and as realistic as can be in a video game. He has been a member of a shooting club for 30 years. He is used to shooting various weapons and calibers including 7,62, so he should know. It is possible to hit the targets accurately with G3A3. All tested scoped weapons produced far worse results. Josche made a video showing the test of G3A3 and G3A4 Sopmod at 298 m. In the video you can see how he aims and what he hits. Would you be (or consider) releasing the Domination and Insurgency maps you've been rotating on your server once the mod is released? My old brain has forgotten what you did last time - there was a version of Domination you converted from your test missions, but the link in this thread is dead. If you're not releasing them, then no worries, I'll make a start on converting them myself - just didn't want to start only to then see your (better) versions in the next release! eggbeast 3673 Posted March 3, 2012 (edited) little bug feedback: the scorpion and scimitar seem to both have the same bug: when they are blown up and we respawn them, they roll right over like a boat capsizing and stay on their roof. mohawk back seat isn't tagged so you don't sit next to pilot but in middle of fuselage. you probably saw these already - excuse me if you did! eggbeast 3673 Posted March 3, 2012 had an amzingfight today - took the sekra patrol boat along the river in clafghan and nailed the entire city before landing and storming the infantry held compounds with oerlikon and bofors covering fire. the boat could use a couple of GPMG (M240)'s or miniguns/ Mk19s on the rail to fill it out lol, maybe even an 81mm mortar and an angry bird helipad on the afterdeck... we destroyed all the bridges in our way and kicked their butt. absolutely grinning from ear to ear we were... Love the boat! A few minor details worth noting (I'm sure you probably know about these): - F15 and F16 LOD resolution is "aggressive" and may need to be adjusted. Details on wheels/canopy/etc. seem to disappear too soon, making the vehicles appear to float on the runway. May need to increase the detail distances a few more meters. - Flags on the bumpers are upside down - noted on the new missile vehicles; may be others. - Some of the animations for ammo belts, etc. aren't moving on the ship. Also the ammo box on the 20mm cannon is using the graphic for a .50 cal box. - Vulcan ADS and other M113 vehicles are very top-heavy, and can flip on their side if rolling over a rock when travelling > 20 KPH. Most notable going downhill during a battle :) ANy other tracked vehicle doesn't suffer this and appears to be with the 3D model - from what I can tell either the tread objects in the Geometry LOD need to be moved higher or the "weight" of the tread objects needs to be increased to make it more bottom-heavy. wld427 1705 Posted March 3, 2012 i really wish i had not released that boat now. I stated in the thread it still needs alot of work and i am sick of hearing about it. Ive alredy done so much work to it you probably would not even recognize it. I too share the desire for some more light guns on it. Im also adding a pair of search lights too each side of the super structure. i dont think i will add a helipad though. I think that would be better suited to a larger boat. Ask nicely and you jsut might get one :) Im aware of the m113s..... its a horrible problem exacerbated on zargabad with all the stupid rocks everywhere. I have already fixed it and an update will be released when i release the takistani extension. I have also added an M901 Hammerhead ITV for ballistic09. thank you very much for the feedback. I want to avoid putting out a release every couple weeks just for a couple fixes. I will wait to see if there are anything else reported. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
hcpookie 3770 Posted March 4, 2012 Well we downloaded the GITS mission earlier and just got off a 4 hour binge in Clafghan. One word - AWESOME! The new vehicles are really cool. One thing I noticed in the mission - the Phalanx truck doesn't repair and stays a burned wreck. All others seem to repair/respawn properly. WLD sorry for pointing out the obvious - we've been playing around with the new stuff this weekend and I wanted to post that stuff before I forgot and didn't look through the thread before I did. We *LOVE* the new boat! Kind of hard to use in Clafghan of course but in Chernarus it feels right at home! SAMs were a welcome treat. Very well done! (tips hat) I think we're going to do some RACS on Lingor later tonight - want to give the pathfinders some PT :) I was thinking about a scenario - just wanted to throw this out there. COnsidering the different brigades, wouldn't it be interesting if there were some internal unrest that pitted the Princess' brigade with the Navy vs. the Air Forces? There could be some interesting things develop in a RACS vs. RACS scenario. Are there any thoughts of making a config to duplicate some/all units to BLUFOR or OPFOR? Lots of copy/paste I know... Could do something up with the red brigade kinda liek they defected again or something...... There was some humor behind that statement about the boat. That is exactly why i did release it because it is so much fun to play with. I fully expect to release an updated version soon with all the rpt stuff and the other issues fixed. Like i said above ive added the two search lights and two M134s on pintles midships for close in defense. I want to make 2 more boats to complete the pack. I want a boat slightly smaller and one slightly larger than the boat we have now. I am glad you fellas are getting some serious use out of the addons :) i was starting to worry nobody liked them. neojd[ny] 10 Posted March 5, 2012 (edited) Are older PRACS missions still compatible? Cause since I reinstalled my PRACS files (with SixUpdater) i get alot of msgs that that and that vehicle are not found. (On GITS EVO RACS TAKISTAN for example, wich I play mostly every day) It workd till I "updated" . Also the new Evo Afghan gives me "not found" errors.
