cybrid 0 Posted May 20, 2002 I'd make a poll here but I don't know how. All types of war games accepted including flight and tank sims. Mine would have to be European Air War
John C Flett 0 Posted May 20, 2002 EAW also, IL2, Combat Mission, Close Combat 2 + 3, Civ 2, Shogun Total War, M1 Tank Platoon 2 and Comance Hokum / Apache Havok. Not a complete list but all favourites.
Placebo 29 Posted May 20, 2002 There are other war games?

WKK Gimbal 0 Posted May 20, 2002 star WARs jedi knight is good but too short I really miss Myth II, but it won't run on win2k Especially I miss the dwarves with molotovs

Badgerboy 0 Posted May 20, 2002 Falcon 4.0 SuperPak 2 - It doesn't get better than this. IL2 - Good fun, and you get to play as the Hun. Wargasm - Multiplayer was brilliant fun. Think of it as the lite version of OFP, with FAR better music. You can't beat a bit of Classical music in a firefight, and it never goes out of fashion! JAP 2 Posted May 20, 2002 CFS 2 / IL 2 But nothing comes close to OFP's allround experience !!
Kep Kelagin 1 Posted May 20, 2002 Operation Flashpoint & Falcon 4.0 are the only games for me, and I haven't been on Falcon since Flashpoint came out

Wargasm was great when it was released. Too bad it only works in win 95 I like: Falcon 4.0, Flanker 2.5, M1 Tank Platoon II, C&C, Rainbow Six and Combat Flight Simulator 2. Warin 0 Posted May 20, 2002 Lets see... Battle of Britain/Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe (Lucasarts) M1 Tank Platoon (Microprose) F-19 Stealth Fighter (Microprose, the reason for me to buy my first PC Sound card in 89) Falcon AT (Spectrum Holobyte) Janes USAF (EA) I was really ticked at EA when they killed the Janes label. Just goes to show you great games dont always guarantee the success of a brand. Damn beancounters, I -really- wanted that Janes A-10 game that was in progress. Aculaud 0 Posted May 20, 2002 Flame me for this if you will, but one of them for me is Ghost Recon and heres why: It focuses on special forces / small unit tactics, it has great urban environments, there are some good possibilities for sniping, and despite being ridiculously close range, the environments are very realistic. Total anihilation was also a good one. I love having just ENORMOUS battles over an ocean area with me and the enemy on our own island fortresses. And then, Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sun
Badgerboy 0 Posted May 20, 2002 SWOTL was brilliant. I also had the Battle of Britain on the Amiga. (Fond memories) But....! Lucasarts and Totally Games (The Amazing Tie Fighter Series), are teaming up to produce another flight sim in the same vein. I really can't wait! BTW The original Tie Fighter was my fav game ever. It showed that the Empire wasn't that evil after all. I'd die for the Emperor any day! You've all been brainwashed by insidious Rebel propoganda!

Project Space Station. Anyone else remember that one? I personally prefered X Wing: Alliance...even if i never did finish it. Hmmm....reinstall and finish..... With Tie Fighter, I always felt vaguely guilty whenever I zapped an X Wing

Badgerboy 0 Posted May 21, 2002 Quite right. When I zapped a Xwing I felt JUSTICE! I personally dispatched over 1000+ Y-Wings alone, cleansing the galaxy of terrorist scum. Didn't complete Xwing Alliance? Shame, the last level is F*ckin amazing, although I prefer the Special Edition Tie Fighter plus addons. Nothing like flying a TIE Defender under the command of Grand Admiral Thrawn.

sgtvor 0 Posted May 21, 2002 Most definitely X-Com, also known as UFO: Enemy Unknown. It's not a TRUE wargame, but man was it fun.... Vor.
KingBeast 0 Posted May 21, 2002 Despite it not being entirely realistic, I always loved Wargasm And if Ground Control counts as a wargame, then that too. Futuristic and fictional yes, but it still has tanks, infantry, mortars, artillery etc Sudden strike too, thats a war game.
