jaynus 10 Posted May 11, 2011 FYI, trolling our release site and downloading the latest versions on their is at your own risk. Those are test/debug builds for our testers. Unless you see the official version updated & a post here, your updating to most-likely-broken-test-builds :) FYI - TS3 just went official stable with 3.0.0-rc1. We'll be updating shortly, and the TS3 standalone packages will be going away.
rscarrab 10 Posted May 11, 2011 Okay thats fair enough. I wouldnt have normally downloaded from anywhere other than the official thread tbh. But once people updated TS by mistake i didnt see any other option. I handle all the mods for our clan, so ill be sure to keep what you said in mind. Anyway, that is really good new Jaynus. Thanks again to yourself and rest of the ACRE team. :)
3MERC Wookie 10 Posted May 12, 2011 Been using ACRE for a while now and used to get alot of ts/ ACRE crashes. I heard from somewhere that setting the affinity of ts to only one core (assuming you have a multicore processor) fixes it. I have to say that it has fixed about 90%+ of my ts/ACRE crash issues. Been doing this for months now. Maybe trying affinity fixes will work for those who crash?
m1n1d0u 29 Posted May 12, 2011 oh wow wookie on the bis forum ! yeah the affinity fix lot of problem i think you can find a tuto some page before ;)

Been doing this for months now. Maybe trying affinity fixes will work for those who crash? The current crash is a heap corruption issue, not multithreading. You shouldn't have to run the latest ACREs in single thread (core) mode because that crash was due to something in TS3, and since they have moved to the 3.0.0RC releases and rewrote their sound engine (as in not using FMOD :() that has not been an issue. Jay fixed the heap corruption issue this morning (it was a sneaky one!) and so there should be a fix out soon.

Darkguerilla 10 Posted May 15, 2011 What the hell do I do about: Plugin failed to load: Api version is not compatible This shows up in the TS3 plugins box. I used the download provided in first post. And it is the win32 version.

And it is the win32 version. It's indicative that you're not using the right Teamspeak version. Make sure you have installed an official (non beta) version and have it updated, and make sure you have the plugin installed to the folder of that TS install. Sonsalt 0 Posted May 15, 2011 Check out the latest update for the Six updater, it now holds a great checkup for the ACRE installation :) http://dev-heaven.net/issues/19455#change-95799
Blade89 10 Posted May 15, 2011 (edited) Quick question: I've got the: "ACRE not connected to Teamspeak" error, BUT I can't seem to make it go away. I've tried: - Manually installing the 64 bit version of ACRE - Using the 64 bit installer. - Uninstalling everything (3 times) and reinstalling ACRE and Teamspeak - Running Teamspeak as admin and ARMA as admin - Running ARMA regular without admin - Connecting to the TS3 server after launching ARMA - Connecting to the TS3 server after connecting to a server - Restarting TS3 in game - ACRE plug in is enabled. I've tried a lot but still it refuses to connect. :\ Edited May 15, 2011 by Blade89
sickboy 14 Posted May 15, 2011 Make sure you run arma and TS both as admin, and that you are not running a beta version which is unsupported by Jayarma2lib. Give it a spin through Six Updater otherwise; sixupdater://mod=43a33648-962d-11df-8d10-001517bd964c (link works if you have SU installed and ran it at least once)
Blade89 10 Posted May 15, 2011 No go. I'm using the Steam version of Combined Ops. The "run as admin" thing worked before when I was running an older version of ACRE. That fixed it then. Don't know what changed in ACRE or TS3 but that trick doesn't seem to be enough solve it now, ha. If I find a fix I'll let you know. :) Thanks for the quick response. rikjuuh 10 Posted May 15, 2011 let the steam.exe, arma2oa.exe and TS.exe run as admin. had kind of the same problem, that solved it for me.
Blade89 10 Posted May 15, 2011 Problem solved: I ran ARMA 2: CO without launching steam and that fixed it. I replaced my _runA2CO.cmd contents with this: set a2path=C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 set a2oapath="C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead" set acemods=@ACE;@ACEX;@ACEX_SM;@CBA;@ACEX_RU;@ACEX_US Navy %a2oapath%\ArmA2OA.exe "-mod=%a2path%;EXPANSION;ca;%acemods%" Mod lines in the proper place and what not of course. ollem 4 Posted May 16, 2011 First of all, a big to the ACRE team for their great work. I really like the mod and added realism. However, since in the end ArmA is a game after all, it would be great if there could be some kind of 'emergency/admin bypass' for the realism of ACRE to communicate to everyone in game. E.g. to call the mission, to tell people in lobby they are allowed to respawn, to give Mission Lead an option to tell something to whole team without need of additional radio's, etc. Or is this actually already possible using e.g. a specific TS3 whisper or TS3 admin config? Rasa-be 10 Posted May 16, 2011 One could simply disable the ACRE plugin.

I used the download provided in first post. And it is the win32 version. This caught me as well because I only updated the 'vanilla' Teamspeak client, not the ACRE Teamspeak client as well. Open your ACRE Teamspeak client, got to help tab and 'check for update' to make sure your ACRE teamspeak client is updated to 3.0.0.-rc2-pre. p.s. AWESOME work guys. Big time THANK YOU for this incredible addon Edited May 16, 2011 by Westsailor

I was about to come and post something identical to this. I was thinking some sort of "force centre" (I think this is the correct terminology) button for channel admins that allows them to talk to every single person. noubernou 77 Posted May 16, 2011 The easiest way to do it at the moment is to go and disable the TS3 ACRE plugin and say what you need to say and then re-enable. Adding an in game feature would be ripe for abuse, at least IMO.
galzohar 31 Posted May 16, 2011 Channel admins are (hopefully) people who wouldn't abuse.
Darkguerilla 10 Posted May 17, 2011 Figured out my problem. My TS3 had been telling me it needed to update. but everytime I let it, it would fail. So I had to go reinstall the downloader. After reinstalling TS3 and getting all the stuff in the right places, it works.

Adding an in game feature would be ripe for abuse, at least IMO. I do not quite understand how you think this might lead to abuse? ACRE is mostly used on private servers anyway and apparently disabling the TS3 plugin is already an easy way to abuse  There's already an API to e.g. disable the loss model (acre_api_fnc_setLossModelScale). An API to allow ACRE bypass option? With the latest version(s) of ACRE there is now also a serverside component. Would a serverside config option for such feature be an option? (Bypass option right now (which still excludes people in dead channel) could be to give everyone an additional PRC-148 set to a specific 'admin-usage-only' channel).
