Resistance features

Recommended Posts

Ok...figured it might be nice to have a thread where we can list everything we know about Resistance so far from various interviews...off the top of my head so far we know this much:

-Better Graphics

-Sidearms

-ShotGuns

-Laser-sight scopes

-Civilain Vehicles Bus, Taxi, Boat

-There will be a bridge (so this probably means rivers)

-new island

-new buildings/trees/landscape possibly better suited to closer combat.

-new single player campaign

-new single missions

-new multiplayer missions

Probably lots of stuff I missed...list it below if you know of any.

laser sight scope?

isnt there already some XM#### weapon, a m14 with a scope which when u zoom with it, the crosshair is just a little red dot? which i presume is a laser sight, otherwise how would laser sights work in OFP?

i believe BIS has said rivers are impossible, so it will probably be over a dry riverbed or something

or a rocky crag, some other kind of impassable terrain perhaps...

I don't think there is impassable terrain in OFP. Even on Everon (or is it Madlen) there is that bay with the steep cliffs on the side, they are like almost 90deg, but you an crawl all the way down. Haven't tried driving on it, ha something new to try.

i saw a post somewhere where PCG said "river spanning bridge" or something so i would assume they would try to make it a dry river unless they were just using that to describe what it looks like. i think they also said it was destructable too biggrin.gif

if it is destructable i hope it's done nicely which i'm sure it will. the shape deforming a little and turning black is not going to please me.

I have a dream...

I see tanks rolling over a bridge. And then the bridge explodes on both riversides and collapses with the tanks on it.

I have a dream...

Ok if there are bridges that you can walk or drive over then you can create ships (that dont move) that you can take off and land on with choppers and jump-jets biggrin.gifbiggrin.gif

Will these new features only be seen in the Resistance expansion or will the original campaign be updated as well?

PCG said they weren't going to give the game away but didn't they say there was going to be lots of explosions? Wonder what they were hinting at there.

Bridge is probably over some kind of gorge. Doesn't have to be a very large one, could be rather small. Pretty sure there isn't a river...

Anyway, just imagine, a huge gorge, a bridge...and....*drumroll* a railway track on the bridge (ofcourse including a train wink.gif ) One can dream, right?

i'd be happy with the railroad thing if they did something as simple as adding what looks like old track no longer in use, it just adds to the environment, especially a railway bridge. but our possibilities are road and/or foot bridges sad.gif

Rivers are possible as long as its at sea level. that way terrain can be dipped down and water ontop of it. That or its some sort of new thingie. Like a solid with textures just you can pass through it?

I think we're gonna need something a little bigger than satchel charges! biggrin.gif

I think the timeline pre-dates the A-10 LGB, so how are we going to take that sucker down?

Resistance just keeps looking better and better...
