Degeneration V2.10 -Zombie Reign-

As it pains me to say Krisrules, it's doubtful. ACE, though disputed, is an integral part to Degeneration. Providing a lot of the features, content, and gameplay mechanics that really make Degeneration what it is. I'll ask Genesis when he's get back, but I would caution you to not get your hopes up.

It might be the nuke that causes the odd zombie behavior? Since as STK said, we were playing yesterday and when the nuke hit Rasman, the zombies got killed off and all of the zombies that "replaced" them aren't chasing us or NPCs.

The ones that spawned before the nuke attacked NPCs, moved around and chased us though.

So, got it loaded up... it needed ace RU and ace US Navy (need to add that to the mod requirements).

I got another error, that if I remember later I'll post, but it allowed me to close it and play regardless.

Anyway, it seems fun, but some of the cars were spawning in walls so you can't get to them. Also, when I found people they were just standing there in the middle of the field not moving - kinda odd.

Finally managed to get Ace working with Six updater and had a go at it, good fun so far, hoping to see it hosted on a server some time :)

You wont any time soon every one I have tested on me dedi server has been bugged.

Shame cus GEN has a good thing here and when it is working as should be it will provide some great fun.

We just need to wait for him to come back :)

Im sure i saw posts lying around of mates already playing this together in MP?

What problems are you running into stk2008?

(Id host a server myself and invite you all but im using a router which makes it harder to host games)

Edit: Also after a Nuke hit Rasman zombies dun goofed

Confirmed, on dedicated sever, 0.84 and Degen3.0, Zombies run around in little curcles and don't attack.

Further testing: dedicated with 0.84 and Degen 2.2, Zombies do their Zombie thing properly.

But in 2.2 Blufor AI sometimes kill of the Zombies compleltley pretty quickly. 3 also had a number of other fixes, but obviously fundamentally broken with regards to Zombe behaviour.

I could make one...I didn't want to have ACE originally because ACE is a pain to maintain and so much in ACE does not make any sense that infuriates mission makers. For a good example, play as the woodlander in Degeneration. Within a short distance your character is going unconcious because of jogging for 1 minute? Come on, I can jog a mile in eight minutes (which isn't that good anyways) without stopping. Not to mention a few of their "team" members are so rude and selfish it drives me up a wall. I could go on forever about it... but I won't.

In short, I will probably create a non-ACE version because I would not like to subject everyone that wants to play Degeneration to installing ACE.

You need to pick up plasma, and then use the antidote action.

Alright! I'm back from vaction. Sorry about the bugged version...I really didn't think that adding a simple respawn system would destroy the zombies ability to even act properly. I didn't realize that the Undead Mod was so sensitive to these things...

Anywho, I need someone to try the newest version. I haven't updated my ACE for 2 weeks (personal reasons) and I'm not sure if it will run properly! If it does not, I will update ACE and get another version out.

Me and some friends are really confused here. The ACE files required, the install instructions, and the thread all point to this being a bi-supportive mod. As in, Arma 2 and OA. But when we download degeneration, there is ONLY takistan.pbo, something that confuses us greatly. So is this arrowhead only, or is there a Chernogorsk version anywhere?

I'd really like if the thread were totally definitive off the bat, like, Mod for Arrowhead, if so. :/

I believe it requires ArmA 2 Combined Operations (ArmA 2 and OA together). Takistan is in both Combined Operations and the stand-alone Operation Arrowhead.

There is no Chernarus version.

EDIT: It requires Combined Operations due to the USMC and Russian Spetsnaz units I believe.

So it definitely does not support Arma 2 on its own? Ah, well, crap. That really really sucks, none of us have $30 to shell out for OA.

I believe it's backwards (Well.. Or "forwards" lol) compatible just like the last version of Degeneration?

We've played both 0.84 and 0.9 (Just had to remove the chn_undead_control.pbo on the Client version, it's what caused problems for us before) on the last one, haven't tried out this new one yet though.

Thank you! I would recommend V.84 for MP and you can use V.9 for SP if you would like!

The newer version should work now...The zombies will not just be right up in your face from the beginning. I will be creating another mission that is just on Utes and is a lot more action packed (for those who want to kill zombies quickly and be done with it). It will most likely be a game of timed survival, "see how long you can survive" kind of style. With increasingly harder waves.

This will be after the non-ACE version of Degeneration though.

I will start work on the non-ACE version probably in the following weeks. It shouldn't be too difficult to get it released, I just have to remove the ACE gun scripts and replace them with A2/OA gear. But real-life comes first sadly, so this will take a bit longer than it should.

EDIT: I was talking to others over steam and the question of additional weapons through other addons came up. If I added extra weapons through addons, I would include it within the download (Just like the ACE nuke) so that people would not have to download them separately for ease of use. This would mean that the addon would have to be fairly small in size as well.

And yes, all credit would be given to the makers of the possible addons.

Hi all.

May have to give this one a go.

I hope zombies still chase after you even after the bomb has gone off cus thats when they seemed to stop doing so.

Any ways when I get a chance I will install on me dedi server and get GRUNT and a few others to test it with me :).
