Golden rule of life: Never borrow your PC games to anyone! I conceal my BIS games and other valuables in a secret compartment. When I die I want to be buried along with my most prized possessions like a Pharoah, I want to be buried with all my BIS games so that I can continue playing ARMA for eternity in the afterlife. :don 13:

Haha! At the time it wasn't a big deal because it didn't work on my computer well. I think it's been at least 10 years now since I've seen it.

According to wikipedia, the combined sales for pc and wii make up four percent of the total, the rest being PS3 and Xbox 360. If that lovely little bit of stat is correct, why the hell go through all the trouble of making it for the pc and wii in the first place, is what I am thinking. I suppose every penny counts.

Nope, we are not getting anywhere nearer a more innovative gaming industry as long as regurgitated sequels sell nine times what OFP sold (of the course of its lifespan) in one fucking day.

My hopes lie with the indie companies...

Speaking of which - an FPS without the S:

If I were to guess , then at least as far as the PC goes the game would be developed on a PC in the first instance so that development is already there.

Am I the only one who like SWAT 3 command system better?

There seems to be some command that I use extensively in SWAT 3 that are not present in SWAT 4

"Police, drop your weapons"? :P [use key]

SWAT 4 have everything that the old one had, probably minus change between Stealth and Loud, PLUS

it have 4 or 5 types of the command menu, including the old one, afair.

Ha ha nice :D

I just went out & bought it. £30 with a canvas map seemed to be worth it :)

(Although, the maps as supplied by Bethesda for Oblivion & Skyrim fall a long way short of the standard of Morrowind's superb physical map...)

But still theres a shitload of testing and tweaking for pc's because of differing system specs and hardware issues. I think that more than makes up for the ground gained during initial development.

Then again I know fuck-all about games development. :)

This is why betas/open betas exist :) free testing on many PC variants.

You know whats sad about this? The Industry will take this as a excuse to not produce PC Games but console exclusives only.

The fact is that many PC gamers don´t care that much about CoD or simply want to wait a little bit to see if its bug free

By similar logic, the AI should be unable to see past large objects or if they're facing the other way. I must test :)

There's the other reason too - where the publisher makes it unpalatable for the PC user by forcing unwanted DRM restrictions and other intrusive mechanisms. They actively make it more difficult to use their games legally than illegally. Then they use the piracy figures to prove that more intrusions are necessary.

As far as I can tell from screenshots and videos the graphics haven't changed from CoD4 at all, same story on gameplay aspects/features. It's rather easy to target a platform when all you do is just add (a tiny bit of) content and don't touch the underlying engine.

Classic Bethesda, lol. Solve a problem in the previous game by over-correcting and creating an opposite problem.

ROFL, well as far as the ridiculously cold reception on PC goes, I doubt they are going to sell many on that platform.

No doubt the console crowd will buy 4 of each, because let's face it, it's the 'most anticipated game' of all time /sarcasm off.

Uh, the graphics, atmosphere and sound are really second to none - even by today's standards, but to each their own I guess.

Suddently i remember why i hate to buy games that need Steam activation... got the game, clicked install, now steam says updating and although it runs with something like 350Kb/s it is only at 4%.

I assume Steam downloads the whole game atm and just want to rage hard.

---EDIT---

That is if the servers arent down again like just now...

-----------

Buying a game from steam and loading it, fine with that, buy a cd just to have it start Steam and download the whole thing... pure rage.

I hope one of the devs steps on a lego brick tonight.
