First part in MW2 was mass killing of civilians in bank where you were some SAS guy undercover and you could either watch the bloodshed or take part in it.

There was also part in Rio where there were kids running at you with AK47 (besides other tangos).

Neither:

Part way through MW2 there is a mission called No Russian where you are an undercover American Task Force 141 operative infiltrating the group that Makarov runs. You end up being forced into taking part in a massacre of Russian civilians at an airport in Russia before being killed by Makarov to place the blame on America, thus setting the wheels in motion for Russia to start WW3. You can choose whether or not to participate in the killing of the civilians, but you are forced to kill the Russian law enforcement officers that come to stop you.

In Rio, there are no children at all.

To go toe to toe with CoD these days you need as many grimdark "no russian" moments as possible since why else would anyone play CoD?

... No Russian ...

OK, so I just chnaged American Task Force 141 with SAS.

In Rio, there are no children at all.

There are. Watch in HD on 3:33 for example. They're not 8-years old, but clearly they're meant to be 14-18 years old kids (as in City of God / Elite Squad)

EDIT: That guy from TF141 was your former boss in SAS in first MW ...

Oh come on who here honestly thought they would go back to the roots...

I would have no problem with them making another game based on the idea, but why should they when the can cash on the console market success of Vegas...

Who here actually thinks that a title like good old GR could stand up/out in nowadays markets?

You would probably get a poorly executed niche product for the hardcore market. Lacking in gfx & sound department, as there´s no great revenue to be expected from a title that only sells to those wo hold gameplay higher than "klickibunti", what defines the 'good old' aspect in gameplay?

I say slap new textures and models onto 'good old' games, make them F2P, market as revive and plan on from that point.

I'm actually going to give them credit for the morally gray/grey situations that they threw in there. The shooting the cops thing and killing the hostage. I'm sure there was some other way to go about that where you didn't shoot the cops but at least it was a good change from aim for the head. I don't know what else they could've done with the hostage either. The bomb was about to go off and they apparently couldn't diffuse it (despite the fact that I recall disarming numerous bombs in the original R6). I just don't get why you wouldn't rig the vest to detonate as soon as you call. Why give someone a warning by allowing it to ring?

But yeah 99% of that trailer was total crap from my perspective.

I also felt I should note the realism of the guy managing to keep his finger on the detonator despite the car crashing, a body falling on him, and seemingly getting knocked over by an explosion.

It looks truly abysmal but I expect nothing less from Ubislop.

They'll do anything to make money on the back of what was once a great franchise by turning it into a lame Michael Bay 'esque' interactive 'adventure'.

No thanks

Revive or reboot these days means adding more action and interactive cutscenes to the genre. Look at Splinter Cell conviction. It did not feel lile a splinter cell game to me.

As I said. If they want to make dramatic conspiracy filled games , please, by all means, I love playing those. Modern day economics at work :)

Rainbow Six were a bunch of ninjas from the start in Clancy's book. Please tell me you people read it? International terrorist attacks spike around the world in order for eco extremists to get a contract at the Olympics to distribute a disease that will nearly wipe out humanity? Russian KGB agent who was responsible for organizing attacks freaks the fuck out when he realizes who he is helping and then epic fucking battle in their south american compound.

I also disagree minus the xray vision it looked decent. The cover system doesn't let you cheat anymore, and aa morality system would make it much more realistic. I thought the storytelling with the wife made you care somewhat about saving the guys life and felt shitty for throwing him off the bridge. Of course none of you are ever satisfied with any game that isn't Arma or OFP.

@MW children:

oAeLKF7qKb4

Yeah..

@R6: Yeah... at first they were a super-secret counter-terrorism unit, now they don´t even wear maks anymore, have a x-ray vision and behave like those idiots in action movies.

All characters and stuff created for the book and first games are now dumped. Nice...

Ah, I can't wait to see what contrived 'emotional' moments they can come up with. Might be a fun FPS to play though, Vegas 2 was fun to play with your 3 Space Marines taking on an army.

What a load of crap

I'm loving BF3 and am playing it way more than I am playing ArmA 2 at the mo. I'm also really enjoying Payday: The Heist Co-oP.

Give me another R6 game where I can plan my breach etc and I'm totally down but Ubislop have proven over and over again that they are only interested in cashing in on the franchise name and never actually reviving the essence of the original franchise.

Actions speak louder than Ubislop's endless words.

What Rainbow Six??I thought R6 ended with Raven Shield.:o:

I bet they even removed those 2 AI teammates you had in Vegas. Now you'll do all the killing yourself.Actually scratch that, maybe we will have QTEs asking us "do you want to shoot that guy press 1,do you want to shoot that army press 2".

Have hope, if it goes the same way as the target footage, you'll have ten AI team mates all living out their scripted little lives sniping hostages and throwing NYPD cops off bridges...

@Smurf:

"Modern Warfare 3 - Killing..."

This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Activision Publishing, Inc..

Nice use of the claim to dissociate with game play "style".

They had two rotating teams, each counting with snipers and machinegunners.

Most of the action (minus the last firefight, in the forest) is pretty fast: they prepare themself to come, shoot two times at each bad guy and, after searching the building, put the bodies in the bags. They even used the uniforms of the local counter terrorist forces, to suppress any suspicion.

Now they rappel, start shooting without planning, take cover every second because they run on unintented firefights, are outnumbered and take an forever to end a mission.

That being said, I'm not saying the game is bad, just that the filosofy behind Rainbow Six has changed a lot.

To be honest I'm looking forward to this game. However, I have never played any of the original R6's at all. I played the Vegas games, but that's it.

That being, I don't care how much different this game is from the originals. I know that will probably enjoy this game. I do agree that some of the stuff in the video is a little stupid.

Plus, this game will probably get good reviews, and will probably sell a lot.

They could tone down the cinematic stuff just a bit.

Edit: They need to tone it down A LOT.
