Patch 1.56 Bug reports

NEW BUG: CO, all MH-60 under US faction have two main rotor models visible when rotor is at operational rpm. One model is loaded state, the other model is unloaded.

checked all other Helikopters and it only happens with the US-Army UH-60 both MEV and standard one.

CORRECTION: all Littlebirds (AH-6,MH-6) are also affected.

Propably not big think, but I've noticed that system creating identities (faces, names, glasses...) for US/USMC units is now kinda imbalanced.

I know that identities loads always randomly from some config but in my squad of 12 (US born and raised marines) soldiers, are usualy 4-5 guys black, 3-4 asian (new in 1.56?) and rest white boys :D Maybe it's me, but I would expected more white faces...

Anybody els get this prone bug? When in that postion moving back or forward the gun moves out of the hand, its out way to far. Like its glitching back to the player.

That bug is in the game for quite some time now, I think there´s already a ticket for it.

I think this occured sometime around that patch where they tweaked the animation interpolation.

Thats what i was thinking too, cause i seen when the patch was updateing that it said animation something just did not catch it. Hope to see it fixed.

So will BIS do anything about restoring XM8s in high quality as they were for Combined Ops owners when using PMC lite (because I can't turn it off)?

Another hugely annoying bug is when lying next to some object (like a bush or a tree) soldier constantly gets up on his feet for no reason. Even when I do nothing.

Hi All...I have a server with AOWC running combined ops. I can't apply the update myself, so the team there did it. But now that the update's been applied, when I connect to the server, I just get "Wait for Host".

I know that isn't very descriptive, and the team at Art of War Central is working on the problem now. But I wanted to know if these few details are enough to point to any particular problem.

I tried removing the addons from the command line, but I got the same issue. But I haven't changed anything about the server since before the update, so I'm not sure where the problem could be. I tried to look at the log file, but I really can't understand it.

Any pointers at all would be greatly appreciated.

I'm also having problems with frame rate. It seems to come and go in spurts of slowness that starts at the menu screen. I never had these problems before.

Any word on what the deal could be? Seems to be a common issue for 1.56

I am having the exact same symptoms unfortunately. My performance was great before the latest patch (1.56) and now is completely unplayable.

E8400

4GB Ram

ATI Radeon HD 5870 (2GB)

Vista x64

Framerate will be nominal for a few seconds upon initial menu load and then completely freeze for a few seconds. Following freezes, the framerate and sound will restore for a few seconds.

Examining the resource manager for my system shows the CPU being completely pegged for a few seconds and then settling down before climbing again.

Again, I had excellent performance prior to this patch. I just purchased PMC tonight and am dissappointed at the prospect of not being able to play it.

Try a defrag with a 3rd party defragger of your Arma folder it might help. Default windows defragger might not be up to the task. When installing new content and patches files are getting heavily fragmented

Thanks for the advice. Any suggestions on a defrag tool to use? Is the Steam built in defragger a poor choice?

Here is an link for the defrag tools and more info http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=110877, like nettrucker said it might help out. Some people said it works with good fps after useing the tool. First post gave an good tool. Iv got the best out of 1.54 patch, 1.56 has done something where im getting bad stutters and FPS. LOD's took an good turn though.

It seems that the latest patch has a lot of multi-core CPU optimizations. Any chance that this could be the cause? Perhaps I have a bad setting?

Np. 1.56 does do an lot of CPU -exThread count moves to try to get better preformance but really does not help for the most part. Iv got an GTX260 and iv tryed more ways then it should take to get good FPS or just to improve the preformance all around for the ArmA 2/OA. With my 260GTX and its settings i get about the same fps as some one with an 470. Its mostly the game/patch itself, not much of an bad setting. Have you had the 1.54 patch befor? What was you preformance like befor this patch? Iv seen that deleteing your CFG file and starting out with an new one after the patching made my preformance better. If you do that back up the one you replace.

I had good performance prior to the current patch (1.56). Now, unfortunately, the game is largely unplayable for me. I will try the defrag when I get home from work.

I can attest to the graphics hardware horsepower making marginal differences in regards to performance with Arma 2. I used to have a GeForce 8800 (512 MB) and upgraded to Radeon HD 5870 (2 GB). Differences in framerate were minimal.

Are you furbily kidding me :eek:

At first i couldn´t quite understand what you were saying, but i needed to have a look at my arma immediately. Shows BIS made the XM-8 that are included in ArmA 2 (which i already bought long ago) into crap quality with the PMC DLC! Now that really isn´t one of the benefits of "solid plan" i´d ever seen coming. As if it wasn´t enough that were getting crappyfied content we already got in full quality (SUV, Roads) we must now also fear that BI harvests in older titles to reintroduce "new" items in DLC?

I hope this is just an oversight in development and will be fixed.

Found on Hmmwv´s whit "CROWS" Version, can this someone confirm ?

This error comes only one who looks through the windshield "front-glasses" !

Thats Bugy it´s on all glasses sites of the Hmmwv´s (only when look too "front-glasses"). The "Normal" Hmmwv´s whitout the "CROWS" hav this not when look the windshield. When look through the side window´s can you not see the Bugy, therefore so very strange ???

After working for 2-3 hours the dedicated server crashes with an error

Ok I noticed there are some super troopers in the Taki army since the latest patch some units are able to have full mags even .50 cal emptied into em and they don't die.

Edit: It appears to be a random phenomenon when many taki units are on the screen.

I was able to solve my issue discussed earlier by defragging both the ARMA 2 and ARMA 2 OA directories in Steam (not running) with Contig, a file defragmenter from SysInternals.

I must admit that I was very skeptical that this would work but wanted to thank nettrucker and 1in1class for their help. Performance has been restored to pre-patch levels.

Hey guys,

I've been reading this thread and others in search of a fix for a constant corrupt file error with every patch I DL.

Have DL'd now from 6 different mirrors and they always say "file corrupt" during extraction. Have used both 7zip and RAR.

I read in a different thread that a similar thing happened with the release of OA DL'd from Sprocket. Something about a CRC error when extracting similar to the one I'm getting, but couldn't find anything to help.

I'm not sure if I've missed the solution or if there even is one.

Any help would be great, haven't even seen PMC at all yet. :cry:
