aeggwards1 10 Posted November 12, 2010 Steam Arma2 Download OA/BAF Patched 1.54 using same method, don't need to use steam patching.
johncage 30 Posted November 12, 2010 patch 1.55=/= patch 1.54 apparently it needs steam patching
silent_op.pxs 10 Posted November 12, 2010 Box Version or Steam? The box version of ArmA2 Operation Arrowhead Combined Operations is the way to go. I uninstalled my Steam ArmA2 and Operation Arrowhead, ever since I started to have problems with having two directories instead of one combined directory. silent_op
CarlGustaffa 4 Posted November 12, 2010 No, not those error. [kh]jman 49 Posted November 12, 2010 (edited) Yes I'm getting this too in OA and then a lockup. It was very stable before, maybe one crash every few months... Box versions of ArmA2 and OA + BAF Perhaps a dev could explain what it means please. Anyone else getting crashes with the following error in the RPT? thr0tt 12 Posted November 12, 2010 Amazing, what is the point of the beta patches if the build completely changes on release to cause these issues ? Missing signature files, splurious crashes, unable to installs, this is the same every 'full' patch release. Still, not been able to join servers and im not deleting files to do so so I guess I will wait till they hotfix it.

Its very hard to feel positive about the release of a non fully working final patch yet again. OK, so its working without signature checks enabled but thats pretty much an impossibility to servers. Oh well, just have to wait for a hotfix again...
Killg0re 0 Posted November 12, 2010 i suffered the following problem installed 1.08 first. after that installed 1.55 patch that caused me alot of work. Cause it didnt work. straight 1.55 away and it works fine... so when u got both leave the 1.08 patch, and use the 1.55 one...

[kh]jman 49 Posted November 12, 2010 Do you think we can have some constructive answers rather than just arguing amongst ourselves the semantics of what he said. Thanks. :)
aeggwards1 10 Posted November 12, 2010 I am starting to wonder if it has something to do with the new way mods are handled. My copy that has the error has been manually copied onto a SSD for speed as my steam cache is too big. The original copy seems to work fine, I need to do some more testing. KeyCat 131 Posted November 12, 2010 Either way, STEAM users (like me) will suffer if we have to download some Gbs of update. Twice.... Guess thats the price you have to be prepared to pay when buying via STEAM and one of the reasons I will never touch it! Next time buy DVD or DL-version via Sprocket. /KC

It is like the second last beta. I get that too, ingame it´s the "receiving bug", same shit as in build 74858 and it´s a shame the chopper bug is still present in the official patch, missions with AI flying are simply unplayable. Installation of patch went fine but content is at least questionable... edit: hope we don´t have to wait too long for next beta which isn´t crashing and where AI can fly again :j: Edited November 12, 2010 by @ST
Muahaha 10 Posted November 12, 2010 I am confused, do I still need to update the BAF 1.0 - 1.01 patch IF I have already updated the 1.55 patch? From what other says 1.55 already contained the BAF 1.01 patch... So what the 1.01 patch for?

NoRailgunner 0 Posted November 12, 2010 Isn't it like: if you have only A2 -> only patch 1.08 to install if you have A2 + OA -> only patch 1.55 to install if you have A2 + OA + DLC BAF -> patch 1.55 and patch 1.01 (BAF) to install or is it for A2+OA (DVD release) like deinstall OA deinstall latest A2 beta patch install new A2 patch 1.08 install OA install patch 1.55 (install patch 1.01 BAF for doubled quality of BAF-lite experience) Why not merging: patch 1.55 + any DLC patch to one stable/final patch? :)
whisper 0 Posted November 12, 2010 the mission_e issue of last time was such a big event ... I missed it. Like this one, where a corrective is already available What is more worrying to me is the rushed state of the patch : * AI choppers going down * heavy flickering appearing just at the latest beta stage before release of official, and we don't get enough time to raise warning about it => the bug makes it to final 1.55 What was the real hurry for this 1.55 release? Seems it just had to go out before next DLC, lets hope a new beta arrives soon dealing with these.
whisper 0 Posted November 12, 2010 Same here, the texture of trees and houses pop up a lot with this new Patch:mad:, and please BIS fix the problem that now we cant join servers if we dont remove the dubbing_baf.pbo files from BAF Addons folder!!:(Thx anyway , you fixed a lot of important things too!!!:yay: Talking about being constructive, bug report done for this one, it was apparently not tracked : http://dev-heaven.net/issues/15073 Update needed : do people see the issue on other map than Chernarus? Has someone found a setting without the issue appearing?
KeyCat 131 Posted November 12, 2010 (edited) Has someone found a setting without the issue appearing? I only have limited time with 1.55 but so far but I haven't noticed any flashing/flickering tree textures on Chernarus with my settings. Maybe I didn't pay enough attention and will look closely next time I fire it up. My settings are High -> Very High (except PP which is Disabled) on a nVidia GTX260 using 191.07 WHQL. /KC Edited November 12, 2010 by KeyCat

BlackLord 0 Posted November 12, 2010 Some buildings/objects just pop out of nowhere. The best example are the cruisers around the LHD in the 1st scenario mission Trial by Fire. After you took off with the Venom try looking at a cruiser then look at the guy in front of you and quickly turn your head towards the cruiser again to see it reappear from thin air.
