URR Islands: Kolgujev 2010 v1.1, Nogova 2010 v2, Everon 2010 v3

The new everon looks really nice.

I decided to convert my sap_everon mission pack to your island.

I'm gonna throw in some new missions in it as well. Although I'm gonna keep it A2 vanilla as the original. I think people who still have only A2 deserve some missions as well.

I took some sightseeing whilst converting few of the missions and I'm pleased so far.

8 MP missions with group respawn.

I haven't fully tested these but they're just conversions except I threw in 2 new ones which do not exist in sap_everon pack.

Some issues I noticed while quickly checking it:

The fence around the airport isn't alligned to ground, looks a bit crappy. You should look into this if you plan to make an update.

You also should have used the A2 buildings, the old ones just don't fit to the beautiful Chernarus stlye landscape.

The terrain textures switch between dark rock in the distance to brown ones when you come close to them, same with the beach in the north.

But finally a Malden to play with. Thought you will never release it. :yay:

@Wolle : Is this the map that may find it's way into CWR2? Or is there another one with A2 buildings being worked on?

The first mission I ever built was on Malden, looking forward to remaking it on a high quality Malden map. I'll do some exploring on this one and probably start on my remake :P

No weaponsfree, the one from Hotze you won't see in cwr2. But I can promise you that you won't be disappointed by ours as well. ;)

Ours is the same size than the original Malden was, while this one is much bigger - means that old missions from OFP can't be just converted and then played because the coordinates are no more the same.

Hello , thanks for reply. did no mean to, Malden 1:1 build .

Gives no alternativ trees, why i use the nice Summertree Mod.

Russians Buildings from Arma2 dont like them in Malden 2010.

i fix some things in Sat Mask, and i look for some Ideas for upgrade.

In the version 2.0 i used addons from some Addons Builder , like Beton, Marseille77, Berghoff ect...

I made a quick conversion of the famous Shadow Killer OFP mission:

Shadow Killer (Malden 2010)

Coop for 4 players. Untested but should work (in theory), if not - complain. :)

Hi Hotzenplotz,

first of all, thanks for the great maps. All of them hit my preferences in any sense. Not too much, still with lots of detail and landscapes great for any kind of mission.

Yet I would like to point you to a problem I have especially with your maps, regarding to the way you make use of locations. Locations imo are very very important (at least for certain mission makers).

Locations are a key to dynamically determine positions missions take place at, a door to landscape one can access just through scripts and logics beyond the editor. Locations usually provide a variety of information, such as size, name, map position etc...

However, when working with your maps, I encounter:

- locations placed in the ocean,

- locations without names nor size,

- locations at positions I can't see any reason why they are there...

As I said, I am a big fan of your work, really enjoy it, but would also be glad if you could take my concerns into consideration.

Thanks for the info Wolle. I'll see how Malden2010 looks and see if I'll work on it. If the size is not the same, then I am worried about putting the time on a mission and not be able to merge it properly with CWR2 map.

Yes and CWR2 signs.rar (Only Summerplants is for your Taste, but is not necessary)

Update: Working on it, you can play on a protected server. Marseille77 serverkey and CWR2 signs key missing.

Beautiful map, awesome...!

...And very happy and surprised to find Leucade(Lefkada) Greek Island in my Arma, where I spent three summers in the later 80's with my parents, when I was young! :)

The vegetation and the way its all put out in villages etc is really superb work. Filled the drive with screens last night, thus stopped playing every minute to get a screenshot. :)
