AH-64 Pack

Recommended Posts

When you say optics do you mean IHADSS display or TADS/PNVS? If so then yes to all three, more than likely our PNVS will be like OFP's though a bit more advanced to take advantage of todays tech.

In OFP I could press 0 and fly while in PNVS mode, zoom in and out to get close to obstacles and watch things from afar..example, in each of these pictures the helicopter is in the same position, bottom right is exterior, bottom left interior, top right PNVS zoomed out, top left PNVS zoomed in.

Update time, since it's pushing sleepy bye time I'll keep it short and sweet. I've been wanting to hold the last updates for something bigger and more sudden than what I have been. So here are today's updates, glimpses of the nearly finished pilot instrument panel, some extra sensory equipment around the gunners chair (later to be added to pilot as well), overhead ciruit breaker and proof that I'm lazy as I have yet to put the seats in my chairs.

Also just for looks, exterior shots of the interior LOD, might combine a few of these into the exterior such as the hanging wires.

Glare shield is to be reworked and made smoother as well as the correct shape later, also there are a few panels missing on the dash, jettison handle and fire extinguishers. The horizon is also not fully referenced and the counter measure panel is from the 'block 3 AH-64A" I'll add the older panel later.

congratulation also from my side :)

I hope that your model will be more agile than bis one I don't have the luck to pilot an apache but for me the bis one seem too much "heavy bird" I see the apache in many video, and also fighting vs airwolf hehehe an it seems more manovrable!

....

Franze I miss your F18 in OA :)

WOW I have to clean my keyboard from my mouth waters. Really amazing work!

But isn't it to hi-poly for ArmA??

That is quite intense, all you have to do is make a lowpoly, and you can instabake normals, ao and diffuse and you have a ready product :)

no they are real ! so real .... ! next step ? texture ?

Oh my no, there is still plenty to do, gotta finish the consoles and the transparent shield seperating them, the glare shields as well and I have to remake the doors as well as put some finishing touches on the instrument panel.

That is AH-64A, am I right.

Just by looking for the 2 Panels

The topic was originally started with he delta, as it progressed people requested the AH-64A so I decided to go ahead with that first.

I see, I see

The 2 MFD are for the Longbow Radar on top of the AH-64D

Oh far more than that, virtually every bit of information you see in a gauge has been digitally integrated into those two displays and then some. Pages will be switchable between things such as engines, system monitoring, weapons supply and configuration, integrated GPS and more.

congratulation also from my side :)

We flew a test model in A1 and A2, if the agility is anything like it then it will definately be more agile, we're talking PNVS view traveling pretty high speeds and being able to safely fly nap of earth, where you see a tree you can pull safely up and away at a moments notice.

Spining is also faster to safely maneuver through the terrain at exceedingly low altitude, during tests I was hovering around no kidding 5meters and less from the ground without being dead in the air.

And yes that would be a great thing to see..who knows, maybe at some point he'll port it in her full glory or she'll have a rebirth as well.

That is quite intense, all you have to do is make a lowpoly, and you can instabake normals, ao and diffuse and you have a ready product :)

Low poly probably won't be too different, mostly missing the screws, some of the lesser knobs and switches will probably be bumped down maybe chamfers but since the light gets under there pretty well I'm tentative to keep it. One thing is for sure though, all that text and line work is going to make the diffuse mooch easier to paint.

WOW I have to clean my keyboard from my mouth waters. Really amazing work!

But isn't it to hi-poly for ArmA??

The screws are just there as a reference for later and the cockpits will be split to get the best bang for polygons, if however it does exceed the 20K mark we'll likely just proxy the unmoveable bits. The big goal is something akin to DCS A-10 plus some of those knobs and

switches you see will flip and twist (see Franze Su-17)

Glad you're all still enjoying the presentation, next time I'll have some of the pilots busy control consoles and the final glare shield and more provided you don't mind more pictures.

Oh I am but trying not to take too long..quicker its done the quicker she can move into testing ingame and get everything working :D first thing we're going to do is add the pivoting pylons and have some rocket runs.

So its not exactly an update but PR was asking for an update, sadly I was too late. I deleted all of the old renders of the D and A, so there isnt much of the D lurking around..time for an update on that (though I screws up and deleted bits from the wing stub)

I'm going to start working on 3 point lighting and see if I can't improve these things..hrm

Oh that gives me ideas.

Not exactly an update, just a comparison check of 3 point vs 1 omni that I've been using, if anyone else knows a thing or two about 3 point or lighting in general that could help the renders look more spiffy I'm all ears.
