I Just Love This Game

Just thought id have my say on the arma 2 games,i just luv them you could say im addicted as im never off them.

ive just got arma 2 running as spooth as a babies rare end, and oa and baf are nearly there.

i still prefur arma 2 though as the online clans play more tactical where as in oa and baf with the arty strikes are ruining the enjoyment if i remember at the beging of the games (oa and baf) the forces are supposed to be there to protect the public but all i see is blow the hell outta the towns then go in on foot to mop up........not fun.

OA & BAF made me playing coop mp for more than 10 hours on last WE, that says a lot. Last game that had that effect on me was Counterstrike1.3. :D (ah the memories)

About ARI ruining the fun: i guess the missions on most public servers are lacking scripts to punish players for killing civilians (if there are any civs at all).

i was on a server yesterday.....and this is the first time ive seen this but while chuting into the ao i saw a civ just standing there i approached with extream caution saw he was unarmed and stood there giving him the once over seeing if he was catchable then he just exploded.....suicide bomber i think lol brill.

but i thought all civs where in hidin while the battle went on only to return to there homes later which are no longer standing cos theyve been blown to hell.

i like the tactical approach and the team work which seems to be missing on most servers(oa).......just my thoughts

And yes I agree with the OP I have loved this game since OFP and have never lost interest in it ever.

Its the ONLY game I ever play tbh I all ways play it as when I can.

Probably there are no civilians' date=' the overhead is just too much to handle. But if you're dealing with [i']external[/i] artillery support, it's no problem handling no fire zones (FDC tends to be under a ROE, sadly players never are) for nonprecision destructive munitions. I've done that in the past (and present) and it works great for controlling players lust for destruction.

It's sort of overwhelming, almost too much to choose from! Wish it was easier to satisfy the addon requirements of any given mission.

Oh, they show up all right. Was playing CTI once and someone had some arty pointing right at my face from a distant hilltop, seen it coming straight at me, vapor trail and all.....lmao

There is no way you ever could be quick enough to intercept that....:p

There are a tons of moments that I've seen a RPG come flying right at me. It's hard to explain, but you almost freeze up.

Similarly, while playing the last BAF single mission (excl. the showcase) with the Warrior APC, as a gunner I observed an AT soldier ~1000m away. Must have been a Metis he was carrying as he stopped and aimed at me. I started firing the MG (the cannon was loaded with the AT ammo) and at the same time saw the guided missile coming down on me. ~1s before the hit I killed the soldier and the missile struck the ground ~3-5m in front of me :cool:
