Rhodesy77 11 Posted July 24, 2010 75th Ranger Regiment The Army's Premier Raid Force The 75th Ranger Regiment is a lethal, agile and flexible force, capable of executing a myriad of complex, joint special operations missions in support of U.S. policy and objectives. Today’s Ranger Regiment is the Army’s premier raid force. Each of the four geographically dispersed Ranger battalions are always combat ready, mentally and physically tough and prepared to fight the War on Terrorism. Their capabilities include air assault and direct action raids seizing key terrain such as airfields, destroying strategic facilities, and capturing or killing enemies of the Nation. Rangers are capable of conducting squad through regimental size operations using a variety of infiltration techniques including airborne, air assault and ground platforms. The Regiment remains an all-volunteer force with an intensive screening and selection process followed by combat-focused training. Rangers are resourced to maintain exceptional proficiency, experience and readiness. The 75th Ranger Regiment is a proud unit and a team of teams serving the Nation - Rangers Lead The Way!" Been working on these guys for the last 2 weeks or so, if youve been checking in the wip thread then you would of already seen these guys, this project first started just as a bit of fun as i always liked the rangers kit, but after awhile it turned into my main project. atm im mainly working on the UCP ACU but once done with the ucp i will continue work on the multicam in the ACU cut. trying to get these guys to look as authentic as possible while not being anal about them (as in dont bug me if a button is of the wrong type!) atm i have around 3 units complete with another 6 - 8 to go, so depending on how much time i get to work on these im hoping for a relase in the next 2 weeks, maybe 3. one thing however that i am in need of is a NVG mount for the MICH helmet they are wearing, i can make my own but would push back release, so if any1 has a spare one laying around would be great. also if anyone has good refs of rangers gear layout/type would be good also. hi res if possible. anyway dont have to many screens to show as nearly all of the stuff is still a big pile of confusion on photoshop and xnormal. anyway heres a few, nothing special, also looking for a DECENT combat photographer for these guys, if your interested PM me some of your work, please dont do it if your just wanting the addon... also the photographer will act as a beta tester aswell. Screens:- http://a.imageshack.us/img651/8830/52432716.jpg - Bigger http://a.imageshack.us/img801/7730/78354334.jpg - Bigger http://img843.imageshack.us/img843/7224/44136858.jpg - Bigger Future plans/Uses:- M4 mod - if i can get around to it id like to make a custom M4 addon for these guys, but thats pretty far off yet. Campaign - id also like to get a decent campaign going for these as well, just to show em off a bit. Video:- got a video idea for these guys (think "Leave A Message" trailer for MOH, seen gere - Variety:- plan to get some diff cams going, ucp, MC, DCU, BDU and maybe a plain grey. Credits:- Binkowski - gave me the MLODs, several texture/model tweaks. Johannes - original MLODs/textures. DaSquade - Alot of the stuff on the helmet (straps, IR strobe, MICH2001, headset) Sabre - huge texture help with the vest/gear. Cheers Rhodesy
Fox '09 14 Posted July 24, 2010 (edited) on the rangers, they look good! also - have you thought about giving them scars? edit: one more thing, the vests to me are a bit too thin. call me picky but i feel johnny sf vests just look way too thin. Devil Dogs SF 13 Posted July 24, 2010 I love these, I could get you some good info from my ROTC instructor for future realism plans but unfortunately he was in during the 80's and early 90's so gear has changed a lot since then. Either way good luck with these, I'm surprised BI didn't include Rangers in the first place.
Nixo 10 Posted July 24, 2010 I'm surprised BI didn't include Rangers in the first place. There is an idea for BI future DLC! Since Johnnys models are starting to get over recycled. But new textures cheers me up :) A definite download when released. Keep up the good work

therev709 10 Posted July 24, 2010 (edited) Last I got: And this is the M4 most SOCOM units (75th included) are now using. Its the same ol' M4 but with the new Daniel Defense RIS II, would love to see this M4 in Arma 2! (FYI the SCAR 5.56 program was cancelled, so no more SCAR-L for SOCOM. They'll still be using SCAR-H though). This is where I find most of these and other reference pics of bad@sses in the field: 75th Ranger thread at militaryphotos.net Edited July 24, 2010 by TheRev709

sabre 244 Posted July 25, 2010 Lovers quarrels to PM fellas. Look forward to it Rhodesy, wouldn't mind some woodland BDU versions just for old times sake :)
enad 11 Posted July 25, 2010 Yeah I talked to fox, I asked him to remove the stuff about me since it was unessesary, but he doesnt want to. Nice units anyways, I cant wait to see them in different varietys. It's awesome that you mentioned gray, reminds me of the MoH Leave A Message trailer with all the Rangers wearing gray! Badass! Good luck with this!
Fox '09 14 Posted July 25, 2010 I ask this because the vest looks a bit different, shape wise (not the gear on them). anyway, looking forward to release, good luck!

Rhodesy77 11 Posted July 27, 2010 thanks for the ref guys, seen alot of them but some are new, anyway decided id add the Level 5 PCU Jacket to 1 - 2 of the guys, the collar prolly needs some tweaks but here it is so far. the inside of the jacket still needs doing (around the neck) atm just the same as the outside. anyway thoughts? Cheers Rhodesy
Max255 59 Posted July 27, 2010 (edited) Well, first - color should be alpha green - middle color of UCP... 2nd - MICH 2001? I don't think you could see a Ranger with one... Anyway great work. Edited July 27, 2010 by Max255[PL]
therev709 10 Posted July 27, 2010 I'm liking it! But I do agree to make it a tad bit darker. Not necessarily more green, just darker. Same with the helmet, I don't think I've seen any Rangers with the 2001 MICH.
Rhodesy77 11 Posted July 27, 2010 yer true, colours still a bit off, the mich2001 is left over from the mlods bink sent me, was mainly working with the jacket collar when i took these screens, also acu is to light as its a old swatch i had laying around, chucked it on to test it all. will try to perfect tomorow. ams agent 000 10 Posted July 27, 2010 (edited) The PCU looks good but(like others have already said) it needs to be darker, like a dark grayish color. Also Rangers only seem to wear either a gray or tan mich 2000 helmet. ACU looks fine to me though. BTW here's some more images of the PCU and rangers: http://i42.tinypic.com/2vsf2h1.jpg http://i44.tinypic.com/rr61sh.jpg http://i39.tinypic.com/11cdpoh.jpg http://i40.tinypic.com/2wp16z6.jpg Edited July 27, 2010 by AMS AGENT

clawhammer 10 Posted July 28, 2010 (edited) PCU Level 5 Jacket is PCU Level 5 Jacket, there is no difference there is just one model. The Jacekt does comes from Orc Industries and the color is named "Alpha Green" and is build for the millitary or private use. The problem with the photos is light, the collour looks different on every picture because of the light. Here are some good pictures: http://spartanat.wordpress.com/2009/12/04/review-pcu-level-5-orc-industries-vs-acm/ (Its an review about PCU Replica and orginal PCU) Edited July 28, 2010 by Clawhammer
