[EU] Beowulf Strategic Operations - Tactical Realism Community
BennySouthSt posted a topic in ARMA 3 - SQUADS AND FANPAGES
Beowulf Strategic Operations is an EU based tactical realism community that plays every Wednesday and Sunday at 19:00 BST. You can find out more at www.beowulfso.com, or keep scrolling down for a look at what we do and how we play. We average between 20 and 30 players per-session and play every Wednesday and Sunday at 20:00 UTC. We're primarily EU based, with members from England, Finland, Denmark, the US and more. What is "Tactical Realism", and why do we enjoy it? Tactical Realism is the term best used to describe how we at Beowulf play - We aren't a conventional Milsim group who follow strict rank and procedure, nor are we a totally laid-back disorganized group of mates playing Arma together; we exist in a sweet spot, a middle-ground that we call "Tactical Realism". We don't have any present ranks or roles, and don't restrict ourselves to representing a singular force in a singular conflict - the average session may consist of two, three or even four missions in a variety of terrains or as a variety of forces. You may go from a USMC M60 Machine-gunner, deep in the jungles of Tanoa to a F/A-18F WSO supporting a Special Forces raid in Southern Sahrani - The only roles we limit are mission-critical roles, such as Piloting, where messing up could mean the end of the mission for everyone; new members can jump in as pretty much anything else available in that mission. We also provide some completely optional training in a variety of skills - If you're new to Arma 3, feel free to pop along to one of our basic induction sessions, or if you're into the real hardcore s**t, turn up to one of our advanced JTAC courses. Just remember that none of these courses are necessary, and are completely optional if you want to attend them - the same goes with our sessions too! We have no unnecessary attendance policy, and average between 20 and 30 players every session. We're a friendly bunch, especially towards new players, so if you've ever got any questions you can ask anyone in game, on steam or through our Slack chat. What mods do you use? Beowulf uses a variety of mods to enhance the Arma 3 experience. We use a variety of community-proven mods such as: -RHS: Armed Forces of the Russian Federation -RHS: United States Armed Forces -RHS: Serbian Armed Forces -RHS: Green Forces -CUP Terrains -CUP Terrains CWA -NIArms -Advanced Combat Enviroment 3 -Advanced Combat Radio Environment 2 -3CB as well as a variety of other mods that add more terrains, assets and some custom in-house assets. All of our mods are handled by our costume made mod-installer, the Beowulf Sync Utility - a lightweight tool that we hope to eventually share with the wider community. Contact Us You can find out more info at https://beowulfso.com/. If you're interested in joining us, visit https://beowulfso.com/join and send us a little bit about yourself - we'll reply with the information to join our slack chat and download the mods as soon as possible! If you want to speak to one of our members, you can message one of our members on steam - they'll be sure to answer any questions! https://units.arma3.com/unit/tacticalmyrmidons https://steamcommunity.com/groups/tacticalmyrmidons We all have are real lives and obligations. Games should be fun and relaxing. Yet to fully enjoy Arma 3 one must play tactically, to reap the rewards of planning a mission and excecuting it with their friends. For that reason, Tactical Myrmidons exist. Games should be fun, but also creative. To solve a tactical problem, combat tactics will be used, orders will be followed, and during the game, there will be a certain structure to the ranks of the players. The satisfaction of achieving the goal of the mission while using teamwork is key for us. But nevertheless, this is a community for people to experience friendship, camraderie, and generally relax from their everyday lives. Thats exactly what we aim for in this group - Serious fun. Can't wait to play with you. European Timezones. Events start at Noon GMT.

Growing, unique community, bringing back the Arma 2 flavor to Arma 3 - TF Timberwolf -
Iceman_TF_Timberwolf posted a topic in ARMA 3 - SQUADS AND FANPAGES
Greetings to all, and thanks for checking out my post! There are plenty great of groups out there, and I hope you find the one that is right for you. What follows is a summary of the inspiration behind TFTW and some additional information to help give you an idea of what the group is all about. Before we start, here is some good music to bring pleasure to your ears while you are reading: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQM0QDQf21k :) In July of 2017, some good friends and I founded Task Force Timberwolf while I was in Eastern Europe on a training mission. The group has already grown into something extremely meaningful to me, and it's a project I hope to continue building for the rest of time. I am passionate about and have an immense interest in everything military and the Arma series is the perfect sandbox to tell stories, play out scenarios, and overall just be immersed in a military conflict zone environment. The type of gameplay offered in the series is unmatched by any other platform, and it scratches that itch perfectly. Since starting this group, I have focused hugely on ensuring that we have a healthy, good community of players. This is an absolutely critical part of building a group right. We only take those who can get along well with others, those who have maturity, and those who have a passion for Arma and military role-playing/simulation. Our group focuses primarily on military sandbox gameplay augmented by other event types which can take place in a conflict zone. The goal is to create an immersive and interesting military sandbox environment for each mission, and I have a dream of introducing unique role-playing elements into missions to add depth to storylines. I encourage our players to treat every scenario with the thought of "what would I do if I was in this situation in real life?". Our sandbox environments and use of real-world tactics bring an incredible amount of life and purpose into our scenarios. The group is a small project currently, but its future is incredibly bright and I am absolutely hyped to see the community grow and prosper. If you think this type of gameplay is what you're looking for in an Arma group, I highly encourage you to apply. Be forewarned, though, the selection process is tough, and I am looking for quality, dedicated members who truly want a good experience. While Task Force Timberwolf places an emphasis on using authentic tactics, techniques, and procedures of actual military operations, the community is definitely NOT a hardcore MILSIM group. It's a friendly, light-hearted community outside missions and people are never going to be subject to rank-and-file nonsense of many hardcore groups out there. My goal here is not to force people into the right state of mind for events, it is to attract the types of people who really do enjoy a type of gameplay that is often slower-paced, much more authentic, and more immersive than the typical experience. Task Force Timberwolf won't ever require members to attend our regular events. People should want to come to the events instead of being forced to come to the events. Our members have families, jobs, school, commitments, and otherwise. As a US Army service member who was stationed overseas, I totally get that. It's part of being a member of society in the real world and Arma shouldn't define your life. Session Times: Fridays at 2200 US Central Time (alternate with Saturdays) Saturdays at 2000 US Central Time (alternate with Fridays) Sundays at 1300 US Central Time We require that all applicants: Are 18+ years of age Own a legal copy of Arma 3: APEX Use a working, clear microphone Use wired internet connection Have a great attitude! If you'd like to fill out an application to become part of our family, please find one under https://www.taskforcetimberwolfhq.com/recruitment. Make sure to actually submit text here, some people tend to overlook that. We will likely not accept short applications of "hey, I want to join" etc. Please put some thought into it. I'm excited to see what you have to say, it's always a pleasure to be connected with the Arma community! See you in the field! IN PACK, WE HUNT! Very respectfully, ICE MAN Founder, Task Force Timberwolf -

Who are the 27th Specialist Marines? The 27th Specialist Marines are a gaming unit who focus on ARMA III tactical operations. Starting out as the 9th PARA ARMA III clan, the unit evolved into the 27th SM in the summer of 2014, when the foundations of the unit were laid and our evolution began. The unit develops, plans, executes and evaluates a vast array of scenarios and missions on a frequent basis throughout the month, with anything from Basic Combat Training for recruits...to patrol & pacification operations....to full blown amphibious assault scenarios. There is something for everyone, and the diversity of settings available is not only is a testing challenge, but also great fun. The unit is formed upon a structured chain of command, where orders are expected to be followed. However, suggestions and advice are always welcomed from any member, regardless of rank, and all members are actively encouraged to contribute wherever possible to the improvement and advancement of the unit. The unit has devoted mission development, training, server administration and technical support groups. These groups not only take part in operations on our servers, but also support our members and recruits to ensure that they get the best possible experience whilst serving with us. Whilst we may not be the largest group in the ARMA III universe, we pride ourselves in being one of the most dedicated. Interested in joining us or want to know a little more?
