  1. Takoda thanks for making videos, truly amazing when ace team eliminated twitch effect when person get shot.
  2. I'm not trying to tell you what you should think what is sophisticated, here I'm merely establishing the point what do I think: Ballistics:The fact that it has bullet drop, round dispersion, recoil affecting bullet flight path, muzzle velocity is pointing at sophisticated system. Stance adjust:The fact that you have 9 different stances where adjust stance to you liking is to me system that no other game has.sophisticated. Movement speed:Walking, jogging, sprinting, tactical pace, jogging with weapon down, jogging with weapon down holding it with 2 hands...no casual game would have that, ergo sophisticated movement system. Weapon sway&fatigue:The more you weight you put on, the quicker your sway will affect your aim.It doesn't stop there however - the velocity of turning left and right also affect sway, and fatigue adds to it.On top of it, stance you are in greatly changes weapon sway. Weight on the other hand slow you down, to the point where you are moving like a snail. It adds to weapon sway which affects accuracy.Quite sophisticated. I think I established with lengthy description why I think systems are sophisticated.I only wish you would do the same and avoid "That's not sophisticated." as the proof.
  3. I was talking about specifics I would love to hear same from you (things used in game/what they add to game).Because ballistics is not only under the hood thing but it affects gameplay, how is used in game and what it adds.Same with stance adjust, movement speed, weapon sway, fatigue. I stand behind this but I doubt game cattering towards casual player would intruduce fatigue system where carrying lot of weight is punished with slowdown, weapon sway. Or where bigger guns are not ideal for close quarter because they needs some time for weapon inertia and I can go on.
  4. That is really nice way of solving that roshnak.Norrin mod however, (kuddos to him on coding ofcourse) takes that half second of delay before switch happens which is bloody important in close combat scenario.

    AI Discussion (dev branch)

Everyone here are playing with vannila configuration. For exact reason you are posting - to avoid confusion and let developers focus on their configs.
  6. I'm waiting for first "arma 3 ace 2" video.
  7. There is one thing that I feel is important to expose - even if certain features are free (like platform updates*) they needed time (4months) for example bipods&resting algorithem to code, just like it takes time to model guns. *Platform update:Audio updates, recoil updates, bipods, resting, AI supression, VA garage
  8. There are a lot of sophisticated system in arma.Advanced flight model, slingloading, bipods, ballistics, Artificial intelligence, stance adjust, different movement speeds, countless keybinds... Regarding medical, I'm big fan of medics in game and interaction with wounded on self treat level and treating other.Bohemia interactive is relatively small team (around 50 people) and they have to manage time&resources. If you look at the feedback tracker top voted features there is a lot of areas that community wants to explore: Optimization, changing weapon while moving, bullet in chamber accounting...So with that knowledge behind and with recent awesome additions of bipods, audio improvements and AI supression I know why we don't have medical system yet, but I'm hoping for one, and talking about it.

    The use of smoke nades?

The other thing is that AI can hear you.So the way you move is important (speed of movement)
  10. Oh god I you made me realize that Manny was talking about trixie's mod his whole time. We should focus on BIS weapons since everyone has access to those.
  11. It's uploading now.I wish you could read my mind but before I posted response I tested my claim in game ; )
  12. I deployed my weapon and there is next to zero sway with bipods.
  13. Trixies is very dedicated guy and his contribution are amazing but guns are not on fidelity level of arma 3 weapons so that puts me off with comparison of bipods on every vannila gun that has option to do so, without requirement of mods.
  14. He wins however since he has bigger power in numbers : D
  15. Do you have hope that they will be fixed however? You and I know that arma 3 is doing iterative process. EDIT:What are yours problematic parts of bipods right now?
  16. You need mods to have such experience.Nothing beats vannila features which everyone has.No mods implemented physical bipods, neither arcs of fire, and corresponding animations so personally Bipods in A3 beat weapon resting from mods.
  17. I'm with you. What is free people seem to often think is done within a day while reality is they spend about 4 months on protoyping coding and refining weapon deployment. And then people comment as "finally" or number of snarky remarks which is not as empathic as I would like to.
  18. I tried resting with M4 and it works on grassy ground without problem.MX appears to have bigger magazine then STANAGs so it would work there.Mk2000 would work too since it uses stanags. Bulpup would work too the only difference is resting on the back of the rifle rather then on center, same goes for Katiba and TRG.MGs can deploy even easier on the ammo belt. Weapon shouldn't be rested when there is no magazines and in gameplay perspective when you are out of ammo you usually don't deploy your weapon.I'm not sure which rifle has internal magazine. "I'm prone and bracing myself against the ground" Body movement is minimized as it's stabilized on the ground.I like deploying weapon without bipods because there is no game that did this before, because of arcs of fire, and because it requires my input to do that bonus is I can rest my weapon on the mag in real life (horizontal, elevated...) If magazines are unstable platform then there are always arms to brace your weapon when you are on the ground.
  19. I see, that is valid point because bipods offer vertical height stability, the rifle alone deployed on magazine would be lower to the ground.
  20. With no bipods you can brace weapon on magazine, why wouldn't it work?
  21. I'm curious to what do you consider in this thread communicating with players. You seem particularly active and I applaud you for that, and audio department mentioned from Audio roadmap comment "Also, we must admit that - compared to other departments - the audio team hasn't been quite so responsive and communicative." this thread could use some more answers on lingering questions and feedback that get posted very often (I'm looking at you Mega!).Considering time and priorities I'm extremely happy that Project lead and the other developers decided to do improvement in audio department.Wooho!

    Squad (PR:BF2 Devs)

Well It just seem that Squad is smaller based PvP tactical shooter then Arma 3 (huge Altis island).I'm not sure about air, helicopters or planes ideas for a squad, I know they will have vehicles so there is distinction. Free look, weapon sway, firing from vehicle, slingloading, advanced flight model, Zeus, Bipods, AIs, day/night cycle, volumetric clouds & fog... you know I think games are quite distinctive.
  23. sudden fall you mean Vortex ring state?

Arma 3 - Marksmen DLC Developer Diaries

Dev inside look revealed that they mocaped weapon resting positions.I wonder how does that tie in blending animations and how did programming animators handle that.Worthy of the OPREP with tap on the back included!
