  3. come on Dwarden..... there is an anti cheat program out there that a lot of companies are using and its very simple...as soon as cheating is detected INTERPOL is automatically notified and an A-10 is dispatched with coordinates to the cheaters house :p:cool: it really counts down on return visits from the same cheater ;)
  4. all of you arguing about the content should ask your self what would you prefer if you had a choice a few years ago when A3 began development A. Arma 3 is released as it is going tobe or close to its current state ...or B. Arma 3 is really nothing more than a major overhaul of the RV engine to make it scalable removing all the performance issues of A2 and adding a new robust power curve but having NO new content just the same stuff from A2 but the future DLC would consist of new highly detailed maps with full phyzX implementation along with more DLC to follow with highly detailed armor,weapons,objects etc for me it would be B. I would be happy to pony up $60 everytime DLC was released fully knowing my ejoyment was going tobe rock solid, unfortunately content to me represents putting the cart before the horse :( right now the performance issues in MP are very disheartening and only so much of it can be fixed.

I think Steam Workshop might be the answer to the downloading mission problem, disable lo cal download on the server , host a mission at Steamworks shopping whenever but it turns on Steam automatically gets updated. of course you will have to direct people to steam works out to subscribe to your mission

I was on your server but had to leave the dsyncs made it unplayable :( during my tests with my own server I have noted that as memory usage increases my FPS goes down even when i am the only one playing, I started a CTI mission and the mem was at 450 and my FPS was 55 by the time the mem had doubled to almost 900 my FPS had dropped to 22 :( there was an issue with another game i had that had a memory leak...if i left it running for 24 hours when i came back all mem was maxed and FPS was 1-2 until restart . one thing i am pretty sure will help you is if you set a max of 100 ping (at least experiment with it) and the other thing is I think we need to figure how to see if some has the band width...i does not matter if you ping is 22 if you only have a synchronous band of 200 and the server is sending out 480 plus. here is a post from another site about dsyncs untile there is a way to offload the mission download to another source perhaps there is a way to lock the server to those who dont have it with a description of where it can be downloaded in the browser description
  8. you do see the irony in your statement right? there is no 64bit EXE for A3. ---------- Post added at 15:36 ---------- Previous post was at 15:33 ---------- that is measured across ALL your cores, go into task manager while the game is running and set affinity to core 0 and 1 then you will see the real usage.

    I doubt it, those wrecks were taken from VBS2 as was most of the underwater environment i believe .

  11. I know this may sound funny but make sure you are not on your own ban list...this happend to my friend who was helping me test missions...for some strange reason he wound up banned.
  12. I glanced over the topic of hosting your missions at another source so as not to bleed bandwidth from the server it self when players are downloading it...but now i cant find it, anyone have the link ?
  13. thnx Terox , I am currently trying to figure out what is the best settings but am confronted with....things that make no sense...in the past when i was hosting IL2 server there was a default estimation of 100kbps per player which worked fine, but i found out the other day when my server was up that there was me and someone else and the bandwidth usage was close to 900kbps just for us... while looking at my resource monitor it showed over 500kbps being used tonight but only 60kbps going to my gaming rig while i was on alone....:confused: as for the chains appearing when there is sync issues i discovered that while i was getting the yellow chain the server was flogging my mechanical HD ....so now its time for an SSD :)

  15. except in the case of games that thrash your hard drive loading files because they cant use more than 3 gigs of ram and you happen to have 8 gigs...
  16. thnx for the link TBB looks like something to used during development as were TMT is post development. years of rewriting? no offense and i mean that , did you read what TMT does? anyways, I will so no more on the topic :) as i said the die is cast and things are what they are :)
  17. i was on a server last night and it was running altis and 3 times i had 3-4 second pauses ,there is a string of code somewhere being very naughty :(
  18. i believe this is because core 0 is the primary worker and when it becomes overloaded everything slows down ...information to render become less per second(FPS drop) I did some experimenting with my server , i disabled 3 of the 4 cores and started my server...it loaded as normal but crashed when the AI spawned, it seems the AI are bound to core 1 and will scale across other available cores but the primary engine is bound to core 0 and as such becomes the bottle neck. ---------- Post added at 14:26 ---------- Previous post was at 14:19 ---------- Upgrade your application for multicore performance! I think a lot of people are under the assumption that there is fine "tuning" to be done that will alleviate there issues with the game but a lot of us already know this is a core issue with the engine being unable to scale across multi core effectively :( at some point you are going to have to come clean like i think you did with A2...I cant remember the exact quote from one of the dev but basically it was stated that it would cost to much or take to much time to fix the performance issues with A2. if some one has the link please provide.
  20. there was mission hosted over at armaholic but the original has a problem so the author said we could find the new one at the workshop...so there i went (link he provided) first i had to create a profile then i had to subscribe...i am just looking for a down load link...so after 10 mins of BS i get the mission and load it in to multiplayer. now i go looking for it so i can put it on my server...first its not in the MP missions folder its in my documents under some steam rubbish..and of course i find the folder with the mission name and inside is a generic PBO called mission.pbo which i thought was ...odd but installed it into my DEDI server...of course it did not show up under the list of missions i could play..... Next i go looking for a solution which someone provided stating that the full mission was under the core installation of A3 under steam in profile/users/myname........ funny enough i don't have a "profiles" folder....how could something so simple as downloading a mission become a convoluted nightmare... to anyone making anything for A3 plz use armaholic to this crap gets resolved.

I think alot of you missed the fact that i am am trying to download a MP mission not play it...I want it for my server....steam does not simply give you a "download" option which is silly to say the least. Steam needs to add that option or notate somewhere that the mission file for DEDI is "here". I have searched...all i find in the mission name folder and a mission.pbo inside.
  23. your rig will run A3 :) but i would try to get over 4.2ghz if you can.
