    tell whom? And what should change, after you say you enjoy arma 2 more? Same as i say, arma 2 feels outdated now in my opinion, compared to arma 2, thats why i spend 650 hours on it since alpha, and never returned to arma 2. This should tell you (whoever), what is better game.

    then BI could implement snow from VBS, or make a like. This can be nearly any terrain then. Just a terrain covered with snow - boring.
  9. I'm playing BECTI sometimes solo, on my pc, whith 10 officers each side, 120x2=240 AI, can live with 30 fps, when the world feels so liveable.
  10. so you say: small but detailed map=large and detailed map? I thought poly count counts at the end. Bigger map. more polys, more performance hit. Btw. about "19 players" and stuff before, here is my yesterdays recording of another 100 people game, where like at lest 60 people were battling eachother at the begining.   11. do we need maps the size of a coin too? Look at stratis, how long would you want to play there? I was sat already before altis came (played since early alpha), and did not really want to touch it again, untill first campaign episode. Altis is already 1/3 downscaled of real island size, so BI actually though of to largy terrain would make it impossible to play. Altis still didn't tire me out, there are lots of places i've not bean, and untill next island comes, i might just get tired shortly before. I don't think missions like warfare, altis life, would be much fun on smaller islands. There might be a question, if you can't opzimize the engine/island well, so it performce good on medium/low end rigs, and for some highend rigs even, why would you bother making such huge island then? Still to remember, when arma 2 came, what nightmare it was, was not playble for nearly anybody. Also, since many missions, not global ones, never use the whole island, maybe it would be wise, to split Altis to like 4 parts, so the most players would have good fps?
  12. Well, if you ask me, for sure i'm. I'm playing it smooth on ultra, on beautiful island, with pretty looking graphics (i'm pretty much aware, arma was never meant for eyecandy, since OFP), recording and sharing my videos of large pvp events. What can i say negative, as i mentioned in audio thread, i was never happy with audio engine and sounds it self in arma series. Since i'm sort of audiphile (having studio monitores here yamaha hs50m along with hs-10 woofer :P) Audio in arma games is really miles ahead of current or even most older games, and lacks typical features like reverberation, distant filtering, where i have made a ticket of. (must readd it to my sig) Luckely, we are having j.s.r.s.2.0 now, which fixes this issues to me (not entirely). Also i wished to have wind and bullet interraction and weapon resting along with bi-pods, like we had in ACE 2. All in all, i'm pretty positive with arma 3, no other game made me spend 600 h in a year for many years, beside arma 2 (which feels pretty dated to me right now). I agree that maybe i do sound to fanboish at times, and missread/understand some of the critics posted here, and maybe i should just ignore it and go along, enjoy my games, also maybe people do missunderstand me as well, (few years school english, rest learn from the internets and gaming). I just say "fanboys", should not overreact on pessimists/sceptics, while sceptical people, shouldn't overreact on "fanboys". I do appritiate people, who pointing out in adequate manner to us and the devs, some obvious and major problems our favorite game has, and i do agree if all of us would say: yey bis, everthing is perfect, just go on! etc., won't help to improve the game, but imo. its sometimes just to much of "nay saying" in threads. Oh, and by the way, just got the infro from my clan mates, next week we gona play massive TvT campaign, with like 500 peope! I'm excited to see how it goes, gona record and share if you guys are interrested. ;)
  13. like i said, i'm wasting my time here anyway, i'm enjoying among with other 100+ people games nearly every day, with good performance, and no major lag, and all of you who don't, can stay with your sceptice, if thats ok for you, thats your thing. You can't prove me i'm wrong, as i can't, cause you won't play with us, and we don't want to share your sceptise. Stay in your box.
  14. chernarus is even more detailed, cause of huge forests and stuff. I can't play arma 2 on ultra on chernarus, and it runs fine on ultra under arma 3 engine, so thats a pretty improvement.
  15. maybe here and here and like i said before, on takistan it was a bit laggy, because map maker placed civilian cars around, strangely or not, they are hurting the performance a lot.

  17. wat? 110 people is not impressive? How many games are out there, except shitty MMO, what can provide 120 slots and large maps like in arma, with pretty fluently gameplay? Also WoG is open for everyone, anyone can join games, which are nearly every damn day, and try themselves. I can't belive, some people are just THAT much negative about arma, they don't believe some obvious things? I was there, playing, recording, while you say: 19 ppl blah-blah, eh, wasting my time here lol.

    yep, i believe, because people were not allowed, to use arma 2 assets before, some used old A1 samples and textures on their addon,s and somehow it looked overcompressed, unbearble ugly.   20. all your so to say "60FPS frostbyte" arguments fail, since the maps are the size of a coin. You can't compare this 2 games in any way, unless we have both similar map sizes and amount of players, then it will make sense to try to compare. You can enjoy 64 games with like 50-60fps on stratis, in more simple missions like TvT, heck, you can run up takistan and enjoy your damn 120 fps on all ultra with about 60 players. But you obviosly know, arma 3 engine is cpu limited, you want to have higher fps, and you just say, "maybe you will think to get a better cpu"? What engine can do same or even better?   21. just played 110 people WoG games, http://arma3.swec.se/game/data/1130946 3 rounds, the last mission on takistan was abit laggy because of summond civilian cars on the map. First round on altis was perfect, 30-40 fps while i was recording, no major lag or anything what could ruin the gaming. Second round on cherno was fine was well, but like i say it was a bit laggy on takistan. So depens on the server and the mission like i said many times. I'm uploading recordings of all 3 rounds if you want not to believe me, and post links here later. Cheers

    i'm nor sure, but havn't BIS tough, investors might get interrest in RV engine, if it will be more polished, and up to date to modern standarts? Iron Front is maybe not the best example, still quite fun game to play with.

    human ear, can't hear sound direction below 250/150hz as i remember, explosions, tank shots etc.

    well, there is AMD guy helped BI to implement HDAO, so why not ask for help anyone experienced in multithreaded programming?
