    J.S.R.S. 2.2 Soundmod

Pure awesomeness. Thank you for your hard work guys!
  3. This sounds really amazing! Very much looking forward to this! Will this perhaps also give projectiles a positional sound?
  4. Well atleast gun sounds and explosions do. I'm not so sure about vehicle sounds though. Take a look at a jet passing at some distance and notice that there's no delay for the sound, it comes directly from where the plane is.
  5. That exact mission got me hooked! I remember waiting in the forest for the bmp to get out of sight so that I could cross the field, when all of a sudden the turret faced me and I hid instantly. But it didn't fire and instead drove straight for me, in amongst the trees and parked on top of me. I soon realised that he was stuck between the trees and I crawled out from beneath him and started running and slipped away. My heart was racing and it was pure awesomeness! Been stuck ever since.
  6. The only other engine I could see handling the scale of Arma would be Outerra. It's still in development, but when it's finnished I believe it will be very suitable for Arma's needs
  7. I think miniguns should be powerful.. in the right way. Imo splash damage is not the right way to go and it's not about nerfing, buffing or balancing - it's about realism. And 7.62 bullets all of a sudden dealing splash damage, but only when fired from one particular weapon, is imo just strange. Miniguns need a higher rate of fire. Yeah, this really needs to change. Ticket about it in my sig. But as stated in the ticket, I understand this is probably not doable in the current engine.
  8. The new lightshafts are amazing! So are the lens flares, the sun can be truly blinding now :) The heat haze effect is great too, but imo it needs a higher resolution when you get up close. Looks a bit weird from very close. And yes I agree the miniguns are a bit OP now..
  9. Quite an improvement there! On a side note.. and this may not belong in the dev thread. I've been looking at how the zeroing works, and it seems to me that a projectile isn't neccessarily fired at the same angle as the barrel. When changing zeroing through optics, the reticule stays still and while changing in 3rd person, the barrel stays still. I tested this with a tank and it was fairly obvious. Wouldn't be very hard to make it so that the barrel always has correct elevation relative to zeroing , I assume? Has anyone got a ticket for it?
  10. Are you using some sort of hardware monitoring software?
  11. Speaking of vehicles.. I just noticed that whenever I switch between different positions in a vehicle, I'm forced to 3rd person view. So I turned 3rd off, but instead I'm getting a wierd perspective as if viewing through a camera mounted on the chassi. Has it been like that before? -edit: It's possible this only applies to armored vehicles, the ones I've experienced this with are: tigris, slammer and kamysh
  12. I'm using left shift as hold breath too, and this is very frustrating! I hope this is fixed for the weekend. But on the other hand flying is so much smoother now, so I can live with that over the weekend :) Great improvement in smoothness! -edit: Just downloaded 388mb and this issue seems to be solved.
  13. Doesn't High Command originate from a mod? Maybe it's a question of including good usermade features in DLC's. BIS could buy a mod, modify it and turn it into their own as a basic feature of the game. But ofcourse I can see the clash when a mod suddenly turns into something you'd have to pay for, especially if the mod becomes unavailable. I honestly don't mind, but I sure can see if others do. edit - mixed up Warfare with High command
  14. This calls for a mission called "Operation FlashPint".. accompanied by a suiting mod. ;)
  15. Here's a ticket for it. http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=799

    Refined Vehicles

Just tried the new engine and gearbox, and I think it works better with a wider rpm band. But it still does the up and down shifting sometimes, though I guess that's a tricky one to fix and may require a manual gear box (which would be awsome!). To be honest I don't know very much about what rpms diesel engines use, as all diesel cars I've driven haven't had an rpm counter. I just know how it feels and sounds, and I think the present one is better in that regard. Though the ones I've driven have used more low end rpm (I think), but I guess that differs from engine to engine. Keep up the good work!

    Refined Vehicles

Great improvements! Regarding the offroad: One thing I noticed is that it's hard to get from 1st gear when starting uphill, from standing still. It just won't get to second gear! But that's a problem that's been present before.. Would be nice you could fix it though! And it seems to me that the rpm register being used is a bit narrow. Would it be possible to make it so that when using full throttle (SHIFT+W) it will use higher revs?
  18. I'd rather they make the zoom buttons (+/-) incremental, instead of the may it works now. As it is now it's not even possible to toggle zoom in and out by double tapping those keys.

    The sound thread

I'm totally with you! Read a few pages back, it's been talked about. You can also vote for the ticket second from the bottom in my sig :)

    Altis: Criticism and Suggestions

Altis is splendid! But I wish there were sounds. I don't think I've heard a single sound from the actual game world. Not from windmills, doors, gates, transformer stations etc. I actually think that transformers in Arma 1 had a buzzing noise.

Real Altis is 33% bigger !

I think they said that Altis is about 75% of Limnos. So that makes 33% correct

    Altis - Info & Discussion

Just went for a 40min flight in the mh9 around Altis and it's gorgeous! Great job! I'm at around 3500m Overall and object viewdistance, and I think it runs ok. But it does stutter a bit in urban areas. I tried at 12000m, but it was just a slideshow :)
