Some sensors like IR sensors have a value related to see through fog or smoke. I'm not sure how it is exactly called. Have to look that up. -

Also a larger max zeroing distance than 2000m would be nice. Something like 4000m since the vehicles sensors have that range and AI will start shooting anyways. Like the T-140 has. -

I guess the SAM launching platform does not come with its own radar. But the missile itself on the other hand does. So the missile can still lock onto you as long as it happens to point in your direction in the first place. So I guess what happened there is that the platform used data link with the radar before it was destroyed to find you. Then you destroyed the radar but the missile already used it's own radar to lock on. That is why it still can lock onto you but the platform does not come with radar so you get just the yellow locking warning and can not target it with HARMs. It's just a guess though. -

I made a Mod for ARMs a couple of months ago using the already implemented anti-radiation sensors. It works there perfectly fine so I assume it will work with their ones as well. -

SEAD missiles addon I wrote a small config to add anti-radiation missiles to ArmA 3. This small addon contains five anti-radiation-missiles for the ArmA III vanilla and some RHS aircraft. As well as SEAD capable variants of existing Jets DLC aircraft. The missiles can be locked and fired onto groundbased radar sources from distances up to 10 km. They have diffrent speed, range and damage output. They can be used by all vanilla airplanes via pylon settings but keep in mind that only the Neophron and Wipeout (asd far as vanilla goes) come with anti-radiation sensors and can target radar sources on their own. They can also be used by some helicopters. The missiles use the already existing anti-radiation sensors, that currently are not used by any vanilla weapon. The line of sight of the missiles is not blocked by smoke but you can avoid the missile with turning off the radar and move. Download: The mod can be downloaded via Steam: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1186658763 Size: ~45 KB Content: Weapons: - KH-25MPU: relatively small Opfor ARM with lower speed but can be used by the Mi-48 Kajman attack helicopter. - KH-58U: high speed ARM for Opfor jets, available also in dual racks. - AGM-78D Standard ARM: older Blufor and Independent ARM. - AGM-88E HARM: high speed ARM for Blufor, available also in dual racks. - AGM-122 Sidearm: small and light Blufor ARM usable also by helicopters. Aircraft: - F/A-181E Black Wasp II: equipped wit 4 AGM-88E HARM (NATO) - To-201BM Shikra: equipped wit 4 KH-58U (CSAT) - A-149E Gryphon: equipped wit 2 AGM-78D Standard ARM (AAF) Images: -

I do plan on expanding the addon a bit and include SEAD variants of the stealth jets with ARMs properly fitting into their internal bays. Also rework the whole pylon compatibility thing since there are some weird things and clippings happening right now with some combinations. -

You mean like the Rhino is able to fire missiles on laser targets provided by datalink? Passing the target data is no problem with enabled datalink. It may work but it would be necessary to create a new missile that is capable of locking onto non line of sight radar targets and be fired from a ground based platform. -
Ctrl+R turns radar on/off on all vehicles that have radar. So the Nyx (Recon), some AA vehicles, some planes and some helicopters (I may have forgotten something). Radar works as it should (limited by gameplay reasons, engine). You can detect both air and ground targets with radar dependant on the radar range and the target size/ stealth. Detected targets can be sent to other friendly units via datalink so they don't have to use their own radar if they even have one. So for example the Nyx Recon can provide targets for the Nyx AA that doesn't have a radar and is otherwise only able to detect targets with it's IR sensor that is pretty limited in range. This combination is more effective than just the AA variant sitting somewhere. Having your radar active leads also to you being locatable by passive radar sensors of jets and helicopters. Aircraft with anti-radiation sensors can even target the radar source what is not a at the moment though because there are no anti-radiation weapons in game. There are mods for this though.

Are you using the 32 bit .exe? I had the same issue. First it happened just when tabbing out of the game after a while it happened occasionally while simply playing. Nothing helped until I reinstalled the game completely and used the 64 bit .exe from that point. -

The proximity fuse of AA missiles seems to not work. I had missiles pass right next to a plane without exploding. It is basically impossible to shoot down aircraft with missiles right now.- 328 replies

@oukej Also right now (on stable) the AI seems not to be able to perform CAS strikes when using the CAS support modules. The aircraft does deliver the package but it gets awfully close. It is very slow and dives to the target, then dropping the LGB. Shouldn't they be able to deliver the bomb to the target coordinates using their CCIP from a height of like 2000m or so? That would increase their survivability and also look a lot better. (tested with Black Wasp and Wipeout)- 5179 replies

I experienced with the scalpel missile that when the lock gets broken by smoke the missile switches back to manual guidance. So if the gunner still points the turret onto the target the missile will still hit. Should be the same with all manual guided missiles. -

Or what about adding a second laser designator to the pilot camera of the gunships. So the pilot can actively help his gunner and provide some targets to him and others.- 954 replies

It would be really easy since there are anti-radiation sensors already in game. I made a small addon that utilizes those and works perfectly fine. -

Yeah, that's the new generation of super smart bombs introduced in 2035. I once passed a target about 80 metres overhead and dropped the bomb about 100m behind the target and it still hit... I also locked the bomb onto the target without a laser spot by simply locking the gun onto the target and then switch to the bombs... -

You could use that concrete bunker object. Place the AAA/SAM turret on top and it looks quite good. -
It is Lock On After Launch now. It locks onto the closest to its path laser spot when geting close to it. You can no longer lock onto those targets manually.

Well, you may also notice that the Slammer's 120 mm cannon fits inside the inner diameter of the Kuma's 120 mm cannon. So don't be too exact about that... XD -

Thank you for suggestions I painted the frontal turret armor which was about facing the direction of the incoming jet. I will try the ground below the target. It looks almost as if the laser would go straight through the target and mark the ground behind it. I'm designating from about 90 degrees off the incoming vector but the side facing the incoming. I'll do some more testing.- 328 replies
