That'd be sweet. They already have the C-130 IIRC. Just need to add some weapons on that bad boy and we'd have some ultimate air support.

Yes they do, they are an aging fleet of (I believe) 13 planes based in Florida.

They are still seeing action as we speak in Afghanistan and Iraq.

There was a piece about them of Future Weapons recently You can watch it here.

I also read (somewhere) that most of the sensors and weapon systems were being upgraded and improved. If I remember right, the upgraded ships started service last year.

I dont think its a high-priority thing that this game needs. As a transport plane. Then yes, but not as a gunship.

Don't you remember when we were attacked by the giant transforming robots the first time? It was the AC-130 that did a lot of damage in its first run. Come on learn your modern history.

But yes, im down with having a proper AC-130 model and stuff. Instead of ones added by the community. No offence, but most things are 10x better when BIS do it themselves ;)

Desert Combat for Battlefield 1942 had a great AC130. It sometimes seems that we're moving the other direction.

I think the AC-130 Gunship would be a nice addition, but I wouldn't really rate it high.

Seriously, can you think of an easier target to hit with AA than a big fat C-130 doing circles of the battlefield? That thing would be absolutely useless in Warfare too.

That's how they lost one in the Desert Storm, they're restricted to night flights now.

Countermeasures aren't a gauranteed protection against AA though right? ( I dont have OA yet )

Yes, there was one made but iirc it used a lot of the BIS C130 model and had to remain an "underground" release.
