Sky999 10 Posted July 26, 2010 (edited) Are these SRS units the Soviet Union? Also will we actually see US units wearing Gas masks like in the wallpaper? That would be....awesome :'). Does anyone knows when the first m68 aimpoints were introduced ? Everything I've read points to the year 2000, but I question whether that's right or not. enad 11 Posted July 27, 2010 These units for this campaign will be usable in the editor right? They aren't strictly limited to the campaign I hope.
Sky999 10 Posted July 27, 2010 Hi everyone, due to some voice acting that took more time than we expected, we couldn't release the first part of the campaign this week , When we'll get these voices, we'll release it. I'd be more than happy to do some voice acting for you kiki, especially if it will help speed things up. How exactly is this voice acting issue coming along? Have you sorted it? Have you sorted it? Thank you ! Well the first part's script is already done, I'm still fixing a few words or sentences in the two other parts. and we're still waiting for some voices that should have been recorded ((I hope)) for that first part. By the way, Check your pm's I'm going to send you the script. ;) These units for this campaign will be usable in the editor right? They aren't strictly limited to the campaign I hope. Sure! we also made this to provide to the community some new units to work with !
crimsontide 10 Posted July 27, 2010 And, Does anyone knows when the first m68 aimpoints were introduced ? It was officially type classified in 1997, but had been in use among elite forces earlier then that. Early 90's is when it was first used.
Kiki 10 Posted July 28, 2010 It was officially type classified in 1997, but had been in use among elite forces earlier then that. Early 90's is when it was first used. Thanks for that answer ! I just finished the new shephard's texture ((the main character)) . He is wearing a PASGT vest and fingerless gloves. these screenshots were not took in the campaign, I just used the desert map from OA

Thunderbird 0 Posted July 28, 2010 Once this MOD is out, I'd suggest to establish a replacement config to replace the Takistani units, vehicles, groups and aircrafts by the iranian ones. Regards, TB
Kristian 47 Posted July 28, 2010 I don't know if replacement is such a good idea.. Offtopic: gotta love this new smiley >FPDR<
Thunderbird 0 Posted July 28, 2010 It's just a matter of taste... I'm just one of those desliking all those fictionnal armies and prefering to see real ones instead, heh... Regards, TB

And Why Iran should be in Takistan ? we would have to rework all the scenario. Edited July 28, 2010 by Kiki
Thunderbird 0 Posted July 28, 2010 Real units, fictionnal war... That's how I like it (Doesn't it make some of you recall OFP? ;] ). Some opinions would state that OFP occured during the cold war crisis, a conflict which was supposed to be a cold war. Therefore, this makes OFP's scenario completely fictionnal. Of course, I aim at also replacing the US Troops by '85 ones (For a personnal use atm)... But I'd see how things would evolve. Just setting up ideas. :) Regards, TB

Just setting up ideas. :) Regards, TB Thanks for giving ideas ! But I think that OFP CWC has a special scenario that permits to make these things plausible I guess, and attractive. Remember that the General Guba is fighting on his own, without moscow's involvement or agreement in this conflict. That's a way and an excuse to have a small number of troops involved. otherwise, this small conflict on Everon would not have ended this way and would have certainly changed the entire charm of this game. what made me like this game ((OPF)) is that you were a simple grunt in the 1980s with limited gear (no gps or acogy-flir-laser all in one)), only a simple m16 with ironsight, you knew that you can't think about hundreds of A10 destroying every tanks that you may encounter, you were part of a small army in fact, praying for your mates to don't die in the battle to cover your ass. If we're gettin two real countries into a conflict, that's meant that there will be certainly some nuclear stuffs in it or fights of thousands and thousands troops on a huge battlefield. Look at the other games; armed assault: It's the SLA army, a small army on a small Island, with some US that are not enough on the Island to defeat them quickly. Arma II: Chernarussian insurgents; a small guerilla in a small country again. I prefer fictionnal armies because it permits you to use your own imagination and so you can build a Realistic scenario without involving thousands of troops on a map of 1000 km, but Giving more importance and foccusing on what's going on beside your character, feeling directly concerned about the storyline and that what you can do can change the conflict. Sky999 10 Posted July 28, 2010 What's the background with the UHEYs anyway? Weren't the USA using blackhawks by the 80s? They were in CWC? Just wondering?
Devil Dogs SF 13 Posted July 28, 2010 Marines still used the HUEY in the 80's, Army used the Blackhawks.

Darkhorse 1-6 16 Posted July 29, 2010 ^ The army only uses them stateside, for air ambulance roles.
Devil Dogs SF 13 Posted July 29, 2010 Unless he meant the UH-1Y which the USMC uses.
Big Mac 19 Posted July 30, 2010 (edited) ^ The army only uses them stateside, for air ambulance roles. And they're phasing those out and replacing them with UH-72 Lakotas. They don't just use them for air ambulance roles, they use them for other non-combat duties as well. Edited July 30, 2010 by Big Mac
